PRO: -      The baby monitor is easy to set up with the app that guides you through every step. The instruction is very clear and it saves time for those who do not like to read the manual.  -      I am impressed with the wide-angle view as I thought I was not within the parameter, it detected my movement and sent me a notification. The picture quality is great and the night vision is clear. It saves the videos automatically when there is a movement or noise so you can watch it and share it with family and friends if you want which is a very cool feature.  -      Users can adjust the sensitivity of movement and noise on the app. The sound quality is high and two way talk function makes it easy for me to calm my baby before getting to the bedroom.   CON: -      When setting up the monitor, the camera was not able to detect the QR code on my phone. The set up will not complete without having the QR scanned and there is no way around it. Luckily, it worked at the end (not sure why, it could have been not being near my wifi router). -      I wish the audio unit comes with a plug instead of the USB cord (no adapter) so I don't need to worry about the audio unit dying before charge. -      During the day, the blue light on the camera is not very noticeable but at night, it is quite bright. However, it does not bother my baby and I like that it is blue and not green (too many scary movies). -      I think it is more suitable for babies older than a year old. Personally, I had always worry about sudden infant death syndrome and my baby was in NICU for a week after he was born where he had his heart rate tracked and it helped me to feel more at ease. But when baby is older than 1 year old, the baby monitor is perfect.   Overall, the baby monitor is excellent and it helps me to more calm when I am not in the same room as my baby. I would recommend the baby monitor to other parents.

I don't think the video monitor is for me because I found myself obsessively checking it, but if you are set on a WiFi monitor this would be a good choice. This monitor was really easy to set up, I really like that I can see and hear my baby! The image is clear and I thought the sound quality was good compared to the monitor I had been using. I needed a reliable baby monitor and never thought to go to safety first for it. My first baby monitor was a Samsung, I took it outside to bring the dog out and it was already out of range, so I researched and bought a V-tech but there was way too much interference but I felt stuck with it as it had good reviews so I felt like they would all give me problems. I was then offered to take part in an at home study. Now I don't expect much at all from safety first, I expected to use it, hate it, and tell the world that no monitor works like it should. Except I used it and loved it! I live in a fairly large house with a big back yard so far it's range works great. I can watch the baby while talking the dog out, from room to room throughout the day and night it's perfect. The audio didn't have any static or interference. It's not like the old days where you picked up phone calls!! I love that it captures the last 24 hours so I always win the argument of who was up for the baby the most! It also helps when you tell the doctor the baby's sleep patterns and such. It's a simple set up easier than my security system was that's for sure. You just plug in, download the app, scan the QR and you're all set. I will definitely be using this above my others from now on out.

have been using few other brand of baby monitor before but its not that good like this safety1st monitor. i like how its easy to set up this product. its app friendly, has nice audio, clear camera. the functionality and the features of this monitor are great. and if you cant figure it out they help you by checking out the website that are provided. love the features!

Product never worked (camera and "puck" constantly re-connected). Tech support initially took 3 hours (text - which was great, but also a 90 min phone call) including resetting my network name (resulting in the re-configuration of 12 other devices, which I am still swatting bugs from). And I work in tech, so am a savvy network person - I can't imagine what a non-tech person would do. After all that, the support person says it's probably a bug on their back end that they are already aware of. Fine. Multiple days later, Tier 2 support contacts me via email asking me to FILM the entire process I went through to configure the device. Which in my case would require me to buy a camera to do so (I use my phone for videos of my kid, and the phone is needed to do the configuration) and countless more hours dealing with the filming and who knows what else. Product was nearly $300 (I bought an extra camera - in the product's defense, the field of view on one was more than enough to visualize what I needed to see). I've spent three hours already with them (again, the folks were very nice even if they couldn't solve the problem), not to mention the time needed to reconfigure all my devices to a new network name. Now they want me to spend more time creating a video??? All for a known bug on the back end? That stretches the goodwill I am willing to give any company, even when I am sympathetic to the challenges of tech support. Boxing it back up and returning the system. The old Motorola is back in service. At least it is reliable.

It was my first time using a WiFi monitor for the first time, and after the initial excitement, I was sadly let down. Cons: - The blue light on the camera lights up the whole room like a beacon. My son is used to sleeping in the dark, and this thing is so bright it's like he's under interrogation. At night I have to cover it up with a blanket, but this then renders the camera obsolete and I may as well be using an audio only monitor. - After a noise notification, I go into the app to see/listen, but often it takes a while to connect, or it's unable to. So then I have to get up and check if I can hear my son crying, because the app won't connect. If it does connect, the sound is intermittent. - It's not obvious whether the parent unit is turned on or off. Some night's we'd wake up hearing our son cry (from down the hall, not from the monitor), but no sound was coming from the monitor. The light was on, but the sound wasn't. We didn't know if it was just charging, or 'on on'. Also there's a lag in the sound. Pros: - I like the noise and movement notifications. - App is simple to use

I love my Safety 1st HD Wifi Baby Monitor, it was so easy to instal and set up. I love that I can choose which notifications will alert me on my phone and the night vision is amazing!

We use this product for naps and night time. When it is working properly it's OK.... However, for the last 2 weeks it won't let us connect to the monitor between 6:30-10pm which is when we need it the most (it's not an internet/WiFi issue since everything else that uses WiFi works perfectly). Also, it makes a high pitch noise ALL THE TIME. It is very annoying to listen to.

I like the picture, pretty good for a pitch black room. Huge interference that is heard through the camera and my cell phone when I'm watching the monitor, at times wakes up baby because it's constantly disconnecting and reconnecting. The audio unit is not very user friendly often doesn't even work.

This monitor has turned out to be a big waste of money. While it started out great (started using it about 3 weeks ago) and was rock solid, it has slowly degraded to where it constantly losing connection to the camera and the puck almost never works. It is pretty much unusable. And it is not a bandwidth issue - that has been checked and there is plenty available. I am glad I never disconnected my old Motorola cameras - at least it is stable enough for me to use at night to monitor the kiddo even if the range wasn't great. And texting tech support as suggested isn't getting a response.

I love this baby monitor because it covers a wide area of any room that you can't get eith any other camera without tilting or panning. The images are crystal clear, even during the night. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality camera.

I was really excited about getting this new video baby monitor, however there are a couple issues with the basic functions of this. One problem I've ran into is that when you don't have the app pulled up, you basically can't use any of the features. Even the audio doesn't work if the app isn't pulled up. So I've found it difficult because unless you're okay with continuously pulling up the app, it doesn't function the way it should. If I'm sleeping in the middle of the night and don't have the app open, I won't be able to hear my baby crying. Also the app takes quite a while to connect to the video/audio sometimes.

This is convenient, but would love if it also had an option without using your phone (for babysitters, etc). Also - would love if it didn't drain phone battery so quickly!

I couldn't be happier with the quality of this monitor. It brings an extra sense of peace as a mother knowing I can peek on my littles at any moment.

It works for what I needed it for. I use it to just look in on the children through the night and during the day when they are playing. The screen does go black and after several disconnecting and reconnecting to the camera it will finally come on. Take a while to connect to the camera. If you need it to keep the screen up or want it to come up quickly this is not the product for you.

First of all, we live in a small town so we don't have the best WiFi options. For that reason, the camera is ALWAYS disconnecting and the visual is not very clear. If there is a storm you can guarantee that the camera will no longer function. My biggest complaint is how much storage the app takes up on my phone. The app uses over 100 gb of iPhone storage which doesn't leave much room for other baby apps and pictures of our sweet boy. I also get 100000 notifications every time I use it which drains my battery very quickly. Sometimes the speaker plays a very high pitch noise as if something is interfering with the signal. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with this product.

This is a very sleek monitor with many bells and whistles. I love the fact I don't have to worry about my baby when leaving the room. The only con for me is the short cord plug-in to the camera.

This is my second time getting one of these WiFi monitors and I am very pleased. I was originally super hesitant because I'd heard negative things regarding WiFi monitors but when I heard this had an alternative encryption code I knew I had to give it a try! I love that I can feel safe with the extra privacy settings and it's a HUGE BONUS that I can temporarily share the camera settings with my babysitters! I definitely recommend this for little ones (newborns or not too mobile!) the only thing I would change is that the monitor was a little more mobile and would follow peoples movement vs. being stationary! This is the only reason I wouldn't have it in all rooms my kids play in! It is perfect for sleep which is the primary purpose in most cases!

We are on our third camera. The company has sent us two replacements. These are always disconnecting from the internet and freezing. The second one we got bakes a terrible noise all off the time so I don't have to listen to it. Hopefully the third camera works.

Overall, I think that the idea of this product is great- there are just a few things that need working out. I discovered these were known issues upon calling the very helpful customer service as well as using the text feature for support. One is that the camera does not have an off switch: it must be unplugged to deactivate the camera recording. The second thing is that it is hard to tell when the parent unit is working because it does not have a constant feedback, instead it plays recorded sounds when the smart sensor decides the noises are enough to play back. Lastly, I love that you can use your phone to monitor from afar, but I don't love using the phone for the video all the time- I haven't yet checked if one can use an iPad or other device as a screen. I wish that in addition to being able to use your phone the there could also be a stand alone video playback unit- so that you don't have to have your phone by your bed at night or so you can use your phone during nap time and not fully rely on the notifications or the parent unit to play sounds that it records. I have been using the Safety 1st HD WiFi Baby Monitor for a couple of months now. It has brought so much peace of mind being able to check in on my little guy while he naps and plays. I love that this monitor is both motion and noise activated. The monitor comes with a handy audio unit that we put by our bedside so we can hear when our little guy wakes up at night. I love that the audio unit doesn't continuously play like a lot of other monitors. Instead, it is activated when noise is detected. Additionally, you can go into the app and customize the level of noise (and movements) you would like detected! This feature is really helpful for us because there is quite a bit of street noise outside my baby's nursery. Being able to customize the notification settings means I only get alerted when it is actually my baby and not just a car driving by. Other pros are the excellent picture quality, good night vision, reviewable 24-hour recording, sleek design, and enhanced security chip technology for extra safety. The ONLY con for us has been difficulty picking up the wifi signal in our son's nursery. This is, however, not unique to this monitor as our other monitor and our phones often have difficulty connecting to the wifi in his room. If you have a decent signal you should not have any issues! I must say the design and quality of the camera is outstanding. The wide range let's me see the whole crib and part of her room and the quality of the image is exceptional. I love the fact that I can watch my baby and even talk to her when I'm not home and someone else is watching her. The sound is pretty good as well. I do have to small complaints: 1. The blue light of the camera is extremely bright. I figure this is because of the awesome night vision range it has but it is very bright and my little One is sensitive to light. My solution was to place the camera farther away from her. 2. The app doesn't work great if you don't have good WiFi so make sure your connection is good!
