Every time I put my 4 month old in this seat she falls asleep within 5 minutes. It looks so comfortable and safe. We also have a graco 4ever for my 4 year old and it does not look nearly as comfortable as the Magellan. The 4 year old is very jealous of his sister new seat, especially both cup holders. I love that this seat can be used from 5lbs up. My 4month old was born 5lbs 4 oz and I love that this is an all in one, totally forever usable, luxurious seat.

Very comfortable seeming seat, unlike others we have no issues with the magnet clip, I prefer it. One-handed disengage is great. The two cupholders is a good help, and easy to remove for washing. We however, can never get the straps to tighten up. It's a bit concerning safety wise. Deducting two stars for that, as I have permanent shoulder and arm strain from trying to get this tightened.

When receiving this product I was very excited, we have previously only used Graco products. When I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised, it was very lush looking. I have many pros to using this car seat. The look is very sleek and modern. It has a plush feeling to it so it seems very comfortable. It Is wonderful that it has a few more height nodges compared to my Grace car seat so it'll last me a bit longer. Until using this car seat I had never thought about the ease of using the cup holders for my little one until now. With my Graco car seat he can barely touch the cup holders, but now he can easily remove and place his cup in the holder. The ease of using the one hand remove button for the fastener is amazing, and well worth it. I love the shoulder straps cushions!! You don't have to mess with them at all, with my graco one my little would always get a red mark around the sides of his neck from not enough cushion when tightening the harness, but now he has no issues. The only con, is the installation. I am not sure why, but it took me a very long time to get the recline just perfect in my car. Every time I tightened it the ball that tells you blue or red in the meter would always move. It was definitely frustrating putting it in the car, but afterwards it's been great. My husband calls it a luxury car seat and states that if he was a baby, he's want the maxi cosí as his seat. I would for sure recommend this to anyone.

PROS: - doesn't take up as much room as some other similar carseats. We originally had a Chicco and could only get it to fit in our SUV in rear-facing mode by moving both front seats up. Not so great if you're tall! - the side impact panels are adjustable and can be used even in front-facing mode - the cushioning around the straps is great at keeping them out of the way for easy in/out. It also makes tightening a breeze! - the material seems more breathable than other carseats. Our son doesn't get nearly as hot/sweaty. - the chest clip is really easy to undo one-handed CONS: - it's difficult to clip the seat belts due to the fabric cover that comes up. I almost gave up the first time we used it - still trying to determine if this is an intentional design or if it can be adjusted so that the buckle is exposed. - while the chest clip is super easy to open, it's a little awkward to clip - still getting used to it. - the directions weren't very clear in parts, you have to jump around to get the full info for install - the tightening strap ends up being very long once tightened. there isn't a great place to hide it in rear-facing mode since the seat is right up against the car's back seat. My son has been able to grab it and chew on it a few times. Not the end of the world, but something to keep in mind. Overall, I would recommend this car seat if you're fine with larger, convertible seats. I really like the added safety features and the harness that keeps the straps out of the way for easy in/out. Still getting used to the fabric covering the buckle, which might be a deal-breaker if we continue to struggle with it.

I love this carseat. Installation wasn't difficult at all and I feel like my child is safe in it. It is very large compared to the Britax Marathon.

The Maxi Cosi Magellan xp max is amazing my baby is 5lbs and it not only cushions but supports his small frame while providing support where other car seats leave him to slouch. I'm looking forward to growing with the Magellan as baby grows

The Maxi Cosi Magellan XP Max is a very versatile car seat and very helpful for my family! I have used it with my 3 year old son, as well as my 7 month old daughter without any problems! Both ways were easy to configure, adjust, and install! My 3 year old is exclusively using the seat, since my infant's other car seat is a traveling system, but I'd feel comfortable using this seat for any of my children! My son enjoys his new seat, and says it's more comfortable than his other car seat.

We have been using this car seat for a little over 2 weeks and I really enjoy it. Overall, I am pleased with car seat. My biggest complaint is that my 1 year old's head doesn't seem fully supported. We put the newborn head pillow insert and it still seems like sometimes she is holding her head up vs resting naturally along the back. My daughter is more petite so it could be that but I would really be worried about how this would work for a newborn. I would definitely recommend for a child transitioning out of newborn seat into the next size up. Pros - really nice, thick material - one car seat for all stages - I like the buckle system - cup holders Cons - not the easiest install in the vehicle with all the different options - head support (see above) - much larger than our infant car seat (wider)

Right out of the box, I noticed the fabric on this seat felt high end! I also noticed the superior air protect side impact protection immediately. The car seat very very sturdy and solid. The recline is smooth, just as it states. Actually, it is smoother than the recline on different brand and very popular seat! I really like the magnetic chest clip. It's amazing that this seat can go from birth to 10 years old. I love that the fabric can be easily removed for cleaning!! That is a huge plus!! My 19 month old seems to enjoy the seat so far. I have this 4 stars due to the install being a bit tricky. Overall, this is a very well designed seat and we will continue to use it!

It took my husband and I both to install the car seat (combined brain power - not strength). Once installed though, we were pleased with the sturdiness of it. Our baby rides comfortably and we feel assured that it will provide the protection he needs shall it ever come to that. Minus the hassle of the install we are still super excited about this car seat and the years of use we will get out of it!

Maxi Cosi Magellan XP Max (Taylor) is a premium car seat. It's very comfortable for my daughter. We have tried a few different car seats and they do not compare in terms of cushion. I also love the neutral colors. It makes it look classy. I get compliments on it. It's the one car seat you need for all stages from newborn and on. I received this complimentary from Bzzagent for testing purposes.

I really, truly wanted to love this car seat. It's plush, stylish, and appeared compact compared to the one I had. I was excited to install it and when it arrived I quickly took it out of the box and started reading the instructions. At first, it looked pretty straightforward. I had installed two different car seats in my car before and the process seemed the same. Unfortunately, this time was different, and not in a good way. The strap which connects the car seat to the vehicle was too short to connect to the car's anchors. We were able to attach it, however, the base of the seat was uneven and therefore, not safe. We then attached the seat using the seatbelt, but I was not comfortable with this option as I've always used the seat anchors to ensure a proper fit. Still, I wanted to love this car seat, so with the seatbelt option in place, I loaded my son in and we were off to the grocery store. My son seemed OK in the seat, but it was clear that he was missing his extended footrest, which his old seat had. He continued to remind me that this seat did not have the feature by saying over and over, "Where my feet go?". Still, something we could get used to with time. However, when we got to the grocery store it was a struggle to get him out of the car. I would think one must get used to the magnetic clip that secures the chest buckle, but I just wasn't getting it. Eventually, my husband had to take over and also struggled for a minute before getting the clip undone. This struggle continued the entire time the car seat was in my car, causing increased blood pressure for me, and increased tantrums for my child who only wanted to get out of the seat. We kept the car seat in for a few days, but it made me nervous to think that I may struggle in an emergency, which reminded me that the seat was attached with the seat belt and not the anchors. For these reasons, I uninstalled the Maxi Cosi and went back to my old car seat, despite my desperate attempts to love this modern, clean, and sleeker-looking option. I would recommend this car seat to someone who has a smaller car (I have an SUV, not sure if that had something to do with the straps not reaching the anchors), and is savy with their hand dexterity. I would highly suggest trying the magnetic buckle in a store prior to purchasing to ensure that you can operate the clip easily and feel secure with its presentation. I did not, but that's not to say others would struggle in the same way I did. Overall, a very nice car seat, but it just didn't fit my life.

The Maxi Cosi Magellan XP Max car seat has to be my favorite of the ones I've tried (and I've tried three different ones for my son including Graco and Saftey1st). The car seat only took minutes to install into my car, and adjustments were minimal. I love the extra padding on the headrest, so I feel like my son is super safe. My favorite feature is the magnetic chest lock which is so easy to use yet feels safe and tight. My two year old, who is tinier that most his age, fits perfectly without a lot of open space, and he loves the two drink holders. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this car seat.

I absolutely wanted this seat to be the best thing ever. It looks comfy, has a bunch of great features and comes from a well reputable brand. It looks great, I LOVE the idea of the magnetic chest clip and I also love the fact that the weight limit is so high. However- this thing is HUGE. It weighs almost 10 pounds more than our other seat and I do not feel comfortable with the way it fits in the backseat of my Scion XD. In a larger vehicle, this would probably work out very well but it's not going to cut it for us.

It's big, and a bit awkward for an infant car seat. But it's comfortable and works great for a forward facing car seat. Bottom line, it's not really a great all in one option.

I received this car seat in exchange for my honest review. When this car seat first arrived, I could tell it had more bells and whistles than the typical car seat. It is larger than other convertible seats we've owned with more padding. It feels more luxurious than the typical Graco or Chicco recommended seats. The instructions were simple to read and understand. Our child is almost 18 months old so he is rear-facing in the car. The car seat was easy to install. My husband was able to install it in just a few minutes. It is also awesome how you can use it from birth through the booster stage. This is truly a seat that will grow with your child and save you money in the long run. It also seems comfortable for our toddler as he rides. We haven't had a chance to test it in the summer, but it looks like it has good ventilation built in.

Absolutely LOVE this carseat. I admit it's been a hot minute since we had to install one of these and we were a bit intimidated at first. We watched a few videos on YouTube prior to attempting installation. While it was a tad tight at times, we hung in there and got this one safely installed. And I'd say totally worth it for peace of mind. We used forward facing for a toddler. Really liked the little 'air bags' on the side -- especially when our little conked out cold. Another absolute winner for us was the fact that removing the washable cover was easy -- and no rethreading the harnesses and such. WIN!

What can I say, the Maxi Cosi Magellan XP Max is an amazing car seat! I am a mother of 5 children, 11, 10, 8, 6 & 3. My 3 year old daughter just loves her Maxi Cosi car seat. She literally sat in it and watched TV in our living for an hour on the day it arrived. The fabric is so incredibly soft and my daughter willingly climbs in her seat everyday. She loves the convenient cup holders for her drinks and snacks. The fabric is very soft and easy to wipe clean. The car seat was fairly easy to install. My favorite feature is the unique chest snap style called the ClipQuik. It is auto-magnetic chest clip that works more quickly than the traditional chest clips. It's also helpful if you have a smart toddler or older child who knows how older car seat clips work. As they cannot remove the chest clip on their own, which prevents them from getting out of the seat while you're driving. My second favorite feature is the extra padding around their head. My daughter falls asleep often in her car seat and the padding helps to keep her head from slumping down. It's so nice to have a car seat with that added extra support. I also really like how this seat grows with the child. My older 6 year old son, who is taller for his age (he wears size 8 pants) can fit in the seat comfortably as well. It really is a great seat to have, especially if you have multiple children or want to purchase one seat to last you for several years. The Maxi Cosi will save you money in the long run! You will not be disappointed in the strong quality of this car seat, it's by far my favorite brand and style of car seat. That itself says a lot, since over the years I have used Graco, Britax, Chicco, Safety 1st and Diono. Take the plunge on a Maxi Cosi, what are you waiting for?

While we used an infant carrier we loved, we decided to switch brands given the great reviews of this Maxi Cosi Magellan. Now that our little ones is not so little anymore! You can tell the quality and the great features like the straps standing away from the seat for easy buckling and the magnetic release for easy unbuckling.

I really like this car seat compared to my Chico 4Ever. Two main issues with my Chicco which is not a problem here: 1 - the size and weight of the Chicco makes it really restrictive based on the car. We sometimes put our carseats in the grandparents' cars and it's difficult to maneavar and hard to carry 2 - my kid's head always slumps when asleep forward with the Chicco These 2 things are not an issue at all in the Maxi Cosi. Their head stays back and it's really easy to move/adjust this car seat. I am definitely going to get another for my second child.

I love my new Magellan Car Seat. My son is 1, and he loves it too. It was easy to install, and getting my son in and out is a breeze. I really like that I won't have to buy a new car seat ever again - all in one is definitely the way to go.

So after four kids,ages five and under and literally 10 different car seats we think we may have found the answer! The Max Cosi Magellan gives Graco 4-Ever a real run for their money. We of course chose the coldest, rainiest afternoon to take on "the changing of the seats". It took me longer to clean up the goldfish from under my old car seat than it did to install this beauty! It was five minutes from unboxing to installed. The hardest part was finding where the zipper started to open up the under seat. It's a great car seat that feels sturdy without excessive bulk and the fabric coverings are super soft! Could not be more pleased!

We are so in love with so many of the features of the Maxi Cosi Magellan XP Max (Taylor) convertible car seat! The seat works from birth to age ten, meaning infancy up to 120 pounds! My little guy has to be in this seat rear facing until age 2 by law, so size, safety and comfort are really important features for us. The size of convertible car seats are generally bigger, heavier and bulkier than your average infant bucket car seat so getting this to fit in our subaru hatchback while maintaining the safety and comfort of our little guy was suprisingly a breeze. The seat actually fits really well when it is reclined in rear facing in both of our cars!!! This Max cozi has an adjustable side impact protection with a foam filled headrest which is a huge plus because not only doe it adjusts to 14 different settings and grow with your baby, it also gives me the assurance that its going to keep my baby more protected in the event of a side impact collision. Not to forgetting to mention its great comfort for in the car naps! The fabric on this seat is super soft, plush and durable!!! I love the fact that the seat pad comes right off for washing, which was very easy to unsnap from the frame. The cup holders also pop right out and can be placed in your dishwasher for cleaning. The spring assisted shoulder harnesses and spring forward buckle are amazing features! The harnesses don't get all tangled up and I don't have to go digging for the spring forward buckle after baby has been seated because it remains popped forward. The padding on the buckle is also super cushy. I love this because nothing is worse then having those buckles dig into yoir baby's chunky thighs!!! The one and only feature I'm not in love with and it may just take some practice or getting used to, is the magnetic chest clip. This feature is supposed to be an upgrade for ease of use but I literally need to practice unbuckling this until I get the technique down because my husband had no problem with it. Other than that, we love our new Maxi Cosi Magellan XP Max convertible car seat and would recommend to anyone looking to buy a convertible!

The Magellan has a similar design as another car seat that we have in our other car, and I thought I loved that one! The added features that I like about the Magellan are that the straps thread through a secondary harness (for lack of the correct verbiage), think of it like getting into a roller coaster! Anyways these secondary harness helps prevent the straps from twisting, which seems to happen too often in other car seats. The chest clip was also different then I've used before. It's not the typical squeeze together type. It took a bit of time to get used to it, but it's super easy to undo once you remember that it's magnetic and you just slide it apart once your pressed the button. I love that the angle of the seat can easily be adjusted. My husband didn't love how the latch system was anchored in the seat but once he installed it he realized his concerns were unfounded. There is a zipper around the inner seat cousin so that it can easily be removed and washed. It really is a very nice car seat.

This car seat is awful. I so regret the purchase. It's very hard to install properly. The seat belt method is trash - I've never gotten it to strap in tight enough; this means we can only use the latch system which won't work for forward-facing. The stiff straps are cool but the crotch buckles are always lost and the crotch socket slips back into the seat upholstery easily. Getting my baby in an out is an ordeal and never quick and easy. Hate this seat.

I absolutely love this car seat. To start off, it was relatively easy to install (unlike our last car seat...). This car seat, I was able to install by myself, without my husband's help. I was surprised that the front seat is able to be all the way back, even with the car seat in the rear facing position- this was not the case with most of the car seats that we tried in store. I was reassured by how snug the latches were- once it was installed, things didn't move around at all. Tightening and loosening the straps was very easy to do in this car seat. I think it's amazing that this car seat will fit my infant through her entire childhood- it's a rear-facing infant car seat, rear facing/forward facing toddler car seat, and a booster seat all in one! With my older child, we went through three different car seats- this one will save us time, money, and hassle throughout the years.

Maxi Cosi Magellan XP Max is the safest and easiest car seat I have ever owned. The car seat can be used from birth to 10 years with a weight range of 5 to 120 pounds. That means this car seat will be the only car seat you'll ever need for your child. In my opinion, convertible car seats are usually lacking good features. However, this convertible car seat covers everything you need and more. One of my favorite feature is easy-to-adjust 14 headrest heights that raise with the harness. This feature is very unique and I had never seen it with other car seat brands. You no longer have to take off the car seat or harness when you adjust the height. Babies grow way too fast and adjusting the height of the harness can be a painful work, adding to parents' already-busy lives. With Maxi Cosi Magellan XP Max, only you need to do is slide the headrest to the desired height. You can even do it while the child is in the car seat. Another cool feature I love about the car seat is ClipQuik's auto-magnetic chest clip. Buckling up your child sure is a task. It takes time and effort every time. Unlike other car seats, this car seat lets you buckle your child with one hand for the magnets automatically slide together to self-lock. The fabric of the car seat is easily removable and machine washable (with cold water as recommended.) There is a cup holder on each side so that your child can keep his/her drink and snack on hands. The cups are actually removable for cleaning, which every parent, including myself would appreciate. My toddler enjoys riding in the car seat and seems to be much more comfortable than her previous car seat. I would definitely recommend the car seat to my family and friends.

This is a high quality, comfortable carseat. The fabric is durable but also soft and comfortable for my child to rest on. The seat is padded and there are also additional removable back and head cushions to use as well. My child is very cozy riding in this and it is significantly more comfortable than some of the more basic carseat models on the market. This is extremely important to me as my family rides in the car daily. The chest clip uses a magnet which makes it extremely quick and simple to open and close. I spent a few minutes practicing using the magnetic clip when I first installed the carseat, and after a few tries it became natural to me. I actually now prefer the magnetic lock mechanism to other carseats I own that do not have it. I installed this carseat in the rear-facing direction using LATCH. I installed it in a 2010 Toyota RAV-4. It was fairly easy to get the carseat at an even level, and also to properly connect the carseat using the LATCH system. The only aspect that I found a bit difficult was tightening the LATCH belt-- it required a fair amount of strength, I needed help from a second person to pull it hard enough to tighten properly. I would absolutely recommend this carseat. It is safe, durable, high quality, and once installed it is easy to use from day-to-day. I am a first-time Maxi-Cosi customer and believe it truly stacks up against the other high end brands on the market.

At first impression, i thought that this was way too bulky. However, when i put it my car next to my existing one, it's actually the same size. I like all the safety features and the easy off buckle. One con I will have to get used to is all the padding and how difficult it is to take off an clean.

I was so excited to receive this AR seat and compare it to the Chicco NextFit Zip we currently own for my 2 year old son. When it arrived, it looked comfortable but larger bulkier than my other car seat. I really liked the gray neutral color. The installation took about 15 minutes and wasn't very difficult but installing our other car seat is quicker and easier since it's better labeled. I like how I can easily unzip the cover of the car seat if it gets dirty, similar to my other car seat. When I put my son in the Maxi Cosi Magellan XP Max he immediately looked uncomfortable. He's small in weight and height for his age so I didn't think it would be a problem but he looked too tall for the rear facing seating, even when all the way reclined. His little legs were forced into an awkward squat position and it looked like he was being pushed up by all the bulky padding behind him in the car seat. We do not have this problem with our other car seat and do not want to switch him to forward facing seating yet. When I attempted to tighten the seat belt it was very hard for me to do so. I kept pulling and pulling and even had my husband complain about how hard it was to tighten the seat belt. Not only was it hard to tighten but it didn't even get as tight as it needs to be for safety standards! It would not get tight around my son's chest, only on the legs which made him scream "ouchie!" and he looked very uncomfortable. I do not feel safe putting my son in this Maxi Cosi car seat and do not recommend it. However, we did not try the forward facing seating so it might be better when in that position. I will reinstall my Chicco NextFit Zip and continue to use that instead.

We received this awesome seat about two weeks ago. Our 9 month old is not a fan of his car seat, and fusses a decent amount when in it, so we thought we would try a convertible seat and try to make him more comfortable. I think it's a really great seat, I find it very secure. We did have a few issues right at the beginning because there are lots of compartments and lots of things that must be done to the seat before it gets installed in the car for use. We felt like the preparation was very confusing. We've also had some issues getting the straps tight enough, and our son is the right height and weight to be using it. I watched a video about how to tighten them and it looks like I would have to undo that velcro pad around the strap first, then tighten, then close the velcro up again....that's a lot of steps just to get him in the seat. Regardless of those two issues, we really do like the seat and I think we will get lots of use out of it.

This is by far the most comfortable and light convertible car seat - I am almost jealous that my little one gets to sit in this padding. Another great feature is that it already comes with cup holders. My other car seat needed an extra part to have a cup holder.

The car seat isn't light by no means & you'll definitely need to reference the users manual but that's only because the car seat grows with your child and you need to size your kiddo accordingly. The car seat is a 5 in 1 convertible car seat safely fitting a newborn to 10 years old. Super plush & soft, and eases my mind in terms of safety with the seats air protect sides.

This car seat is super soft and comfy. It fits very well into my car and is very easy to install. It has a very easy and quick way to adjust the headrest and this thing reclines!!!! It has magnetic chest clips which is SUPER convenient, and it's a one hand unlatch on the chest clip as well! This seats converts to where you can use it from the infant stage all the way until the booster stage. I'm so in love with this thing and I HIGHLY recommend it. I wish I had gotten it 4 kids ago!

When I first put my son in the Maxi Cosi Magellan XP Max car seat to adjust the straps, he legitimately had a tantrum when I took him back out so I could install it in the car. I think he liked how comfortable it was because it is definitely plush looking. The straps have sturdy padding at the shoulders and the locking mechanism also has cushioning. Other seats always dig into the skin at these contact areas or have pads that slip around and need constant adjusting. I also noticed that his posture looks better in this compared to his infant only seat. He looks safe and sturdy. Installation of this seat was very intuitive. There are instructions right on the seat that tell you exactly where everything goes. There is a level that even tells you where the seat should be positioned depending on if the child is forward or backward facing. This leads me to my favorite aspect of the product, which is that it will grow with my child! I almost wish I had gotten this sooner for my older two children. The chest clip has a magnet that is very satisfying to secure. That is a very neat feature and is simple enough to use that my older son always insists on unbuckling his little brother for me when we are getting out of the car. This seat is on the heavier side in my experience, but I think that would only be a problem if you had to move it between vehicles.

This car seat is phenomenal. We have been using the maxi cosi Pria 70 and this Magellan is a nice upgrade. The dual cup holders were such a huge hit with my daughter. Now she has room for a snack and a drink. The padding is comfy and easy to wipe up. Installation rear facing with the latch system was very easy especially with the zip open seat cover! No need to rip the whole seat padding off to find the buckle and latch system. The quick clip with the magnetic latch is absolutely amazing. My 5 year old cant undo it herself but it truly only takes one hand and it just clips together and slides apart. Buckling in and out is so much faster now. Even the button for the lower buckle is easier to undo. With just one hand I can release both sides of the buckle. The forward facing higher weight limit is incredible and we will be using this seat to keep our daughter safe for a very long time. She's still rear facing but will be very excited when she can turn around and use this seat for years! We are definitely very happy.

*I was sent this product for free in exchange for my review* Our primary car seat for my 16 month old is the Nuna Rava. I was excited to receive this car seat since it has very similar specs to the Rava, and we needed another seat for my parent's car who take care of my son during the week. The seat was easy to install using the LATCH system and it feels very secure in the seat. Additionally, it was very easy to put my very active son in an and out of the seat. I had read reviews that the chest clip was hard to undo, but I found the directions were clear and after doing it once or twice, it's second nature. My son loves the cup holders and has a really fun time putting his cup in it. The are also 7 incline options, so my son can be extra reclined if he's sleeping, or more upright so we can look around. Overall, I'm really happy with this seat and love that wide range of ages that it can be used for.

This car seat arrived and was so much more than I expected! I thought the material would be the typical polyester like maxi cosi's I'd previously owned, but this one was so soft to the touch and seemed almost like a soft neoprene. Although I never would have chosen the light material, it seemed like it would repel water and hopefully not stain easily. The magnetic latch is an interesting idea. It took a couple tries to figure it out and I was a little clumsy one handed, but with practice it would become second nature. If you commonly have others putting your child in the car seat it may need some explanation because it is definitely not intuitive. A better button might make it a more common sense motion. I loved that the shoulder pads were attached to a back pad. The ones on our current car seat are constantly slipping around and getting in the way of tightening the harness. I love the idea of having a car seat that will grow with my child until they no longer require a car seat/booster. The only real negative I have with this car seat is the seat belt pathways. Like other maxi cosi's I've owned it is difficult to get the seatbelt through under the seat and tightened appropriately. If you have to move the seat regularly, or even occasionally this would be a huge effort! For this I prefer the Britax Click Tight system. Overall this is a great car seat from infant to school age. If you only want to buy one car seat, this would be a great investment.

As a new parent, I was looking for a car seat that wouldn't be too complicated to install, would be safe, and would last throughout childhood so we wouldn't have to continue investing in another car seat in just a couple of years. So far, this passes the test! The Maxi Cosi is a solid car seat that is easy to install (even for a newbie like myself) and appears to be very sturdy. I'm also super excited about how easy it's going to be to clean on a regular basis!

This car seat is hands down the best car seat I've ever used. I have three kids and have used MULTIPLE brands over the years, i will say that the max cosi car seat is by far the most user friendly one to date. You can latch and unlatch the chest plate one handed- yet the child cannot undo it because of the slide clip mechanism. The convenient zipper on the seat makes for easy cleaning as well as transitioning from forward to rear facing etc. The comfort for the child compared to others is outstanding yet not overly "plush" as to compromise safety. My daughter fits better overall in this car seat then any other due to all of the adjustments as opposed to others with the standard "step" adjustments for height etc. I was really able to personalize this car seat and tailor it specifically to her.

This carseat is truly made with all size kids in mind! I love that it comes with all the bells and whistles like strap covers, pillows for back and head, 2 cup holders! On of my favorite features is that you can adjust the straps from the front of the car seat with the push of a button. Gone are the days of rethreading the straps to adjust the height. The chest clip is so easy to use and very durable too! Since my kid is almost 2, I did have to remove a few of the extras that came with it since he won't need them. The on feature I did not like at all was the buckle cover. It made it impossibly hard to push the red button and unbuckle the clips. That is the only downfall I have for this seat.

My daughter is 18 months old and is rear-facing. Here's my bullet-list review. She really REALLY likes the cup holders, like, obsessively likes the cup holders. The shoulder straps look very comfortable. Installation was easy; I used the LATCH option. I usually need my husband's help with car seat installation, however, I was able to do this one myself so that was great. I get nervous about the chest clip; I feel like when my daughter is older we will have to use a different product because it is too easy to release and she'll probably accidentally unbuckle herself. This scares the heck out of me. The crotch buckle is WAY TOO LOW and hard to get to. It pretty much disappears down there and I find myself trying to get my kid out of the car seat without unbuckling the crotch buckle that I cannot see. Maybe it can be adjusted by the user...? If not, please fix this. It has to be easier to adjust the tilt of the carseat after it is installed. I have to take the whole thing out to get it leveled correctly. Yes, the installation was easy but I don't want to have to do it a bunch of times. Overall it's a nice little car seat but the chest clip issue makes me nervous. We had a relative lose her four-year-old daughter in a car accident because the kid had unbuckled herself. I don't know what kind of car seat they had, but I don't want to use anything that is that easy to undo. My kid is smart and I know she'll eventually figure it out.

I LOVE this car seat! My son is 3 months old and getting him in and out is simple. I had an infant carrier for him, but lugging around was difficult. I love knowing I can use this as my little guy continues to grow.

I purchased this car seat and paid way too much for it to feel at a loss over its safety. I have called repeatedly for help to get the shoulder straps tight enough. I called for an appointment to being it in and no one returned my call. Finally, I called a 5th time and a lady instructed me to undo the velcro shoulder pads EVERY SINGLE TIME I put my son in the seat in order to be able to tighten the straps! I reiterated " every time" and she said that was the only way Dorel had found to get them tight. Clearly a HUGE design flaw. I would NEVER BUY AGAIN! If you want 2 really cheap...make me an offer!

This is a good looking car seat and I have it for a year. After one year usage, my comment is do not recommend this product for the following reasons: 1. The magnet lock is very hard to disengage. 5 people out of my family, only one person can easily disengage the magnet without problem. The rest of the 4 people have to struggle every time. This is a very poor design and the magnet locking latch does not account for major of the population (80% of my house have extreme difficulty with it). And my biggest concern is during emergency event, it just makes it harder to disengage it and time is important at that moment. the concept is great but very poor mechanical design with magnet. 2. The strap is so tight compare with another product in the market. It is far tighter to use and after one year of using it, I just feel like why i am paying so much for this type of poor user experience I rarely leave comments about product even for the bad product I have been used. However this is the worst product I ever invest and I am extremely disappointed of it.

This car seat is so plush and soft I wish my driver's seat felt like this! Other than the plush, super soft fabric, the seat was pretty easy to get sized to my little man. After I got him to actually sit in the seat, it was breeze to get him sized. I love all the notes along the side that make me feel good about the set up. It shows proper set up from all 3 seat positions; rear, forward, and booster modes. Which is awesome by the way, this is a truly forever seat, and I have tall children so that is something I always look for. I would say the hardest part of the set up were the 3 pillows that were not attached. The head, back, and one for under the bum. He didn't need the bum one so I was reading how to use these pillows correctly. In the manual it says you have to use the remain pillows together or not at all (from what I got from the directions). I liked the back pad the the head pad I felt he didn't need because lol he had a big head and looked squished when I had that pillow there. So after figuring that out everything else was a breeze, straps and all. I didn't take the seat cover off to wash but the instructions looked pretty simple. I did spot clean with soap and water and it came right off and didn't leave a mark, so I'd say very easy to clean. The seat installation was also easy, I was nervous with it being so plush it makes the seat look big, but it fit just as well as my oldest's slimmer seat. I would recommend the seat. My wife and I bought the Magellan Max due to the totes ease of use magnetic chest clip and the level of comfort that it appeared to offer our daughter. First cane installation rear-facing which I recommend never to do on a busy day. You need at least an hour for first time installation because 1. You must first try to secure seat with the cars seatbelt. Despite numerous attempts and doing all I could to get it to tighten enough to not move more than an inch, this was not possible. The seat belt method does not secure the car seat enough in both my wife's Nissan Altima and my Audi Q7. 2. Next, the clip method that comes with the car seat was the only method that secured the car seat enough that it did not move. I worry though because this is only up to 35lbs... after that what are we supposed to do? Adjusting the car seat is relatively easy to recline froward and back, and raising the head rest. Super simple and easy. The biggest down side to this car seat is the straps. They never tighten enough and to get them to the tightening point takes all my strength and effort but even that is not enough. The straps seem to fold over and bunch up, get caught, and never really hold their shape. I worry that due to the loose fitting straps that this car seat is not safe for my child. Also, the magnetic clip can be tricky at times. I worry in an emergency would I be able to get my child unclipped fast enough. Recommend having a tool of sorts in the car (multi tool, knife, or scissors) just in case we are ever faced with a scenario. Overall, Installation without seat belt worries me due to weight limits of the included buckle system. Seat belt will never secure this facing forward or back due to design of car seat. Straps tightening/ loosening is a pain... Positives: easy to recline and adjust head rest. Comfy padding.
