I received this carseat as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel, for my honest review. I was super excited to test out a Maxi Cosi seat! Out of the box, I was impressed with the look of the seat. The fabric and colors are gorgeous and sleek. There is also a ton of padding which gives it a very plush appearance and adds to the protection the seat offers. However, the seat seems to "swallow" my toddler, we are rear facing and some of that may also be the recline/position. The plush fabric can make it hard to snap in the buckles of the harness, and get in the way of some straps. Install was fairly pain free, we use the seat belt install, and I do feel like I get a good and safe install with this seat. I have had issues with the harness straps, they constantly turn and twist, which is obviously not ideal nor safe, so I find myself getting frustrated with that almost every time I use the seat. I do love how easy it is to adjust the height and positions. There are 2 removable cupholders which is super convenient. The fact this seat will work from early infancy through booster ages, is the biggest appeal. There are several little things, as I mentioned, that I would expect differently in from this name/brand. All in all, it's a beautiful carseat, that will last for a long time, and provide superior protection...which are the most important things to me in a carseat.

I received this Convertible Car seat from the weeSpring Parent Panel. Out of the box, it's pretty good size. The cushions are thick and feels like our memory foam mattress. Both my kids wanted to sit in it as soon as I unboxed it. Installing it was a bit of a struggle because the snaps to install it via the LATCH was hidden and so I installed it via the seatbelt method. I'm sure it's not supposed to be complicated but I always used the LATCH anchor so it was a little difficult for me. Adjusting the headrest is super easy because all you have to do is basically pull it up or down. A week after I received it we took a road trip from Houston to Atlanta (13 hour car ride!) with my 19 month old. I'm not going to lie and say that she enjoyed the car ride but she didn't complain as much as I thought she would. She never slept in the car with her old car seat but with this car seat she took a nap every time we were on the road. She didn't nap the entire time but she napped anywhere from 1 hr to 2 1/2 hrs. I think the big reason for this was the size of the base seat. The length of the carseat from the backrest to the front is about 14 inches. My baby looks super comfortable sitting in her seat with both her legs resting on it instead of dangling from the seat. The dual cupholders are also very nice. My little one cannot pull it out easily but it's super easy to twist and pull out when I need to clean it. My favorite feature of the carseat was the cover. The car seat was a mess after we got back home. There were stains from drinks and it was covered in a blanket of crumbs. As promised the car seat cover is VERY easy to take off. It's completely intuitive. I didn't even have to consult the car manual to figure out how to take it off. It was also very easy to put it back on the car seat. I LOVE that I don't have to uninstall the car seat to take off the cover! If I ever need to replace the carseat, I'm getting anther one of these car seats!

This review is for rear-facing position only! Let me just start by saying I LOVE Maxi Cosi! As a career nanny I've used a LOT of baby equipment, especially car seats so I've sen my fair share of good, bad and useless gear. I was recently offered the opportunity to test out the Magellan 5-in-1 through the Wee Spring Parent Panel and I jumped at the chance to try another product from one of my favorite brands. Overall the Magellan is a solid product and I don't think anyone could go wrong when selecting this model. For me, the biggest selling points are the safety features and the fact that it grows with your child through the years. Let's be real, car seats are so expensive so I would rather pay a little more upfront to have a seat that I can bring my baby home from the hospital in and then drop him off at elementary school years later before he outgrows it. The Magellan definitely ticks that box! I LOVED the pass through opening for lap-belt installation; it's a small thing but anyone who's installed a rear facing seat will tell you what a struggle it is to wrangle the car's lap belt through the seat's innards. I also loved the removable cupholders-brilliant! Finally, the care they took to illustrate the safety and installation features, the diagrams, color-coding and well diagrammed owner's manual are HUGE! Now for the bummers. My son finds it very easy to get his arm under the safety belt/chest strap; but when I have cinched the harness straps to prevent him wiggling his arm under the strap is too tight. I would also like to see a sportier, cooler fabric. I also couldn't get the seat to lock into a good recline. He's either super reclined and constantly straining against the straps to look around or it's upright more but the gauge on the side says it needs to recline more for safety. This is a solid seat with some great features, but overall I still prefer my original Maxi Cosi seat.

I'm so glad I received the Maxi Cosi Magellan 5 in 1 car seat to test from weeSpring parent panel. My son has hated car seats from the day he came home in one. He would scream the whole time regardless of which type of car seat I tried. Then came the Magellan 5 in 1. When I first saw the box I was worried because of the size and weight. It looked really big and was heavier than the other seats I tried. I took it out of the box and sat my son in it and started adjusting the straps to fit him. I didn't think I was going to have much room in my Toyota Camry with the car seat installed. My baby is 9 mths so he's still rear facing but I actually had more room than the previous seat. All the straps were super easy to adjust. The installation with the latch system was a breeze. I did everything myself with no issues. It is a little on the heavy side so switching between cars daily isn't something I really look forward to but it works. The fabric is very soft and breathable. Unfortunately, I love in Arizona so it's going to be hot in the car seat regardless, but the baby is a lot comfortable and starts a little cooler in this one. The cover is really simple to remove/replace when it's time for a wash. The safety features on the seat are above average. It is definitely a secure seat. The multiple adjustment and recline options ensure a safe fit for your chid regardless of their size. I have a toddler who just turned 2, when we sit him in it it's a simple click to adjust the torso and recline making it a breeze to switch between the two kids when needed. The only issues I had with the seat we're that the bottom buckle to the harness, it's sometimes difficult to buckle over the cover and the cup holders pop off very easily, one actually got lost after falling off. Other than that the car seat is amazing and I wish I would have bought one 9 months ago for my little guy.

I previously had been using another brand/style convertible car seat but found that my daughter would start off happy in car rides but anything over 10-15 minutes she would start crying. So we tried out the Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat and so far she seems very happy! It is very roomy and seems comfortable as there is a good amount of padding. There are removable inserts/extra padding that allow you to customize the seat to best fit your child's needs which is greatly appreciated. I have not had to fully remove the seat cover to wash but the fabric is very soft and seems durable. My favorite feature about the car seat is that it gives my daughter ample room in the seat without feeling crammed yet she is still snug and secure. I also appreciate all of the safety features of the seat and would trust that it would hold up well if ever need be. I drive a Ford Escape and the car seat fits very well in the back and still fits comfortably without me having to move the driver's seat to accommodate. As we have to install the seat rear-facing for our one year old I would say that adjusting the seat can be tedious but that is to no fault of this specific car seat design, it just has to be adjusted for the angle before you do the LATCH system otherwise to make any other angle adjustments you have to release the LATCH to get to the adjustment handle. My only complaints with this specific car seat is that the harness straps get tangled and twisted very easily. There is an upgraded Max version that has spring loaded top harness holders so if possible I would opt for the Max version. My main complaint would be the difficulty of installing this car seat as rear facing because it involves having to remove the fabric at the base of the car seat, so getting that fabric back on after it is pulled snug against the seat was very challenging. All in all, I think this is a great car seat and my baby really enjoys riding in it. Thank you weeSpring Parent Panel for this car seat!

I received the Maxi Cosi Magellan 5-1 Convertible Car Seat as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel at no cost to me. All options are my own. I love that this is a all in one car seat and I won't need to be buying multiple as my baby grows. The material is amazing and easy to clean. Throwing it in the washing machine is so easy to do. I did have trouble with tightening the latch when I was installing it in my vehicle. I'm on the shorter side which doesn't help. Definitely love the 5 point harness to keep him in safely. I would recommend this seat for older children as personally I like to take my babies out in the seat when they are newborns. The cushions on all sides make it comfortable when the kids fall asleep. I have two older kids (2 & 3.5) and they loved riding in it. I make my husband install it when we have to switch vehicles. One of the features that I really liked is having the one hand recline. So easy to adjust for the kids.

This car seat is fantastic. Not only is it super easy to install, it's also super comfy for my 11 month old. We have a large family and take our seats in and out of the car often, so I'm inclined to use infant seats as long as possible. When I was offered the opportunity to test this seat by the weeSpring parent panel, my little guy was starting to outgrow his infant seat, so I went for it. The seat is sturdy and safe, but easy to lift my little one in and out of and clean as needed. It's also been a breeze to take in and out of the car and reinstall. We've used Maxi Cosi products since my 1st child (now nearly 10 years old was born) and are still fans of the brand with our 5th! I highly recommend this car seat.

Thank you to WeeSpring for giving me this car seat in exchange for my honest opinion and review of this item. I am enjoying this panel and this product was very exciting for our family. We have three kids: 7, almost 4, and 21-months. This car seat would have been ideal for our toddler but unfortunately it would not work in the configuration of my vehicle alongside the other car seats we have. It is a large, beautiful, excellent quality, durable and versatile car seat. I wanted this to work for our family so badly, but we have to have three seats across the second row in my Honda Pilot, with rear facing toddler behind the passenger side. My husband is very tall so we can't do a rear facing seat behind the driver or in the middle, as there isn't enough room for him to back up the drivers-seat. Aside from the spatial problem for us personally, this is an amazing car seat. It's truly a five in one product that will grow with your child!! It is easily installed and then over comes off for cleaning better than anything I've seen on the market. I was extremely impressed with this car seat in every way. I have virtually no criticism on it.

When I first received the car seat, my first thought was if they made one in my size because it looks so comfortable and luxurious. What baby wouldn't want to sit in this? It looks and feels like a very well built and styled car seat. I can tell that it will keep my baby safe no matter what situation we are in. The install was quick and easy even though I did it all by myself. I love that no matter what child needs to use it, I can easily customize it to our needs. It is very reassuring to know that my child is going to be safe no matter what stage of a car seat they are in and I really feel that with the Magellan. My son has loved having his own cup holders (there are two) and frequently uses them to not only hold his drink but his toys as well. We frequently go on road trips and I can tell my son naps easier in this seat than the others we have used. It has all the comforts a child could need which is why I wish I had one in my size to snuggle up in during a long road trip. 😜 Since getting the seat my son has loved being higher up in our car. He is more line with his brothers seat so they can talk and play better. I haven't had to wash the car seat fabric yet but I took part of it off and it was really easy to take off AND put back on! Overall, I had a great time using this car seat. My daughter loves riding around in this seat; removing the metal buckles away from where she sits is very easy in this model. In other seats I've used, it was near impossible to not place her on the buckles first, before removing them from underneath her, which she does not enjoy. The initial installation was less than smooth, but after doing it successfully became easier to do again and the ease of use across all of the other features more than made up for this shortcoming. Installation- After getting it into the car the first time, installation became easier, but still less than ideal. The first time installation was a little rough, I quickly read through the instructions and attempted, unsuccessfully, to loop the belt through the car seat. After finding a installation instruction video on YouTube, I realized that I was missing a key step -- when threading the belt through the seat I had to pause, put my fingers in a slot through the fabric to find the buckle, and help move the buckle further over before reaching into the other side to pull it out and buckle it in. All of this must be done without twisting the belt, and while leaning over the car seat. This was presented as quite easy in the instructional video, where a tall woman did it on a seat in the middle of a room. Attempting to do the same thing in an SUV as a shorter person was not nearly as simple. Adjustments- The car seat is quite easy and intuitive to adjust, however the pitch adjustments are difficult, if not impossible to make while the seat is installed. I found the best way to do this was to place the seat in the car without securing it and adjusting the pitch before installation. This method allowed me to find the correct pitch while still having room to reach in and pull the handles and move the seat without running up against the seat backs in the car.

When I first saw this car seat, my first question was, "Do they make one in my size?" This car seat is amazing! The first thing I look for in a product is safety, and this delivers! My favorite feature about this car seat is how safe it is for my little one. I really like the side impact protection and overall how big it is. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing my baby is safe. Not only is it safe, it is really comfortable. My baby fell asleep in it the first time we used it, which was a win. The fabric is soft and I like that you can take it off and clean it, even though we haven't had to do that yet. It is harder to adjust the straps than other car seats I have used. I might just be getting use to it, but that is one difficult thing. It is easy to adjust the position of the seat though, and installing it was really easy and quick. I also like that it will last a long time for my little one. I even used this car seat for my 2 year old also and she loved it as well. The cup holder was by far her favorite part! This is a great car seat that will last, keep your baby safe, and possibly keep a toddler entertained with a cup holder, such a great product! From the very beginning, everything about this car seat has been a breeze. It was extremely easy to install. I had my husband do it first and then I after, just so that we both knew how to work with it. The steps and the labels on the car seat for different ages/weights is very self explanatory and great to work with. It is very easy to adjust the car seats position which is very important as my son gets bigger/older. With that, the ride for him has been far more comfortable than when he was in his newborn car seat. He is so much more happy! At one point, my son did end up spitting up in the seat. With it being black, I immediately took the cover off to wash it. SO EASY! The fabric held its softness even after a good thorough wash as well as its look. My son loves the fabric as well, he continuously rubs his face on the side cushions and smiles, it is very sweet! If I had to pick my favorite feature of this car seat, I would have to say the overall comfort of the seat. It is extremely plush and soft. It is like the cadillac of car seats! One thing I would like to mention that I had issues with and could possibly be room for improvement was the straps. Although made well and secure, the straps that run through the clip part that clips between his legs, always got tangled/flipped around on me. When I set my son in the car seat and reach down to grab the clip to clip his legs in place, the strap was always twisted around and it made for an annoying few minutes of trying to get it the right way again so that we could go with my son safely secured. Possibly a thicker plastic piece surrounding the strap may keep it in place. Overall, this car seat has been amazing. I would definitely recommend this seat to any family as it is safe, comfortable, easy to install, and worth the investment! I was given the Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat to review as a part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. This was my first time using a convertible seat, as we had been using an infant seat previously. At first glance, this seat looks plush and comfortable. It has ample padding in the head rest and extra cushions that can be added for smaller children to allow a safe and comfortable fit in the car seat. My favorite feature of this seat is that it is highly adjustable with minimal effort. The torso and the headrest both adjust up and down with buttons, and there is no need to uninstall the seat from your car or adjust straps. The only strap that requires effort to adjust is the crotch buckle but a quick flip up of the seat cushion fabric, and you can have that adjusted in a minute. You can easily put children of different sizes in this seat and with the press of a couple of buttons, you are ready to go. The fabric wipes clean nicely with a microfiber cloth. I did not try washing the cover in the washing machine, as ours has not gotten dirty enough to need it yet, but I did take the complete cover off to see how easy it was to remove and put back on. The cover came off in two pieces and was fairly easy to remove after I figured out the trick to twisting the cup holders to slip them out. Replacing the fabric took 5-10 minutes with a few interruptions from a cranky baby, but it was easy to tuck everything back in to place. When I do need to wash the cover, I will probably hand wash and hang dry so I do not risk warping the cover and making the easy reinstall more difficult. The only thing that I do not love about the seat are the straps and crotch buckle. The straps are thin and twist easily. The crotch buckle is a bit difficult to buckle and unbuckle. Neither of these are deal breakers, and I love the safety and comfort this seat provides to my baby! I look forward to using this seat in all the stages. We were very excited to try out this seat! I decided to break down this review into pros and cons to make the information easier to read. Pros: -Cushy seat -Sleek appearance -Low profile sides makes getting toddler in and out of the seat easy -Can fit in a small car -Comes with cup holders -Grows with the child which is the best aspect of this seat! Cons: -Straps always twist -The grip on the underside of the strap makes it difficult to tighten because it grips the child's shirt -Difficult to unbuckle child because the button is always covered by fabric -Strap release button is hidden inside the seat and difficult to get to -Installation process was longer than other car seats (anchor straps were tough to get to) Although there are some good features to this car seat, unfortunately we feel that the negatives outweigh the positives. The Maxi Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat is incredibly easy to install and within minutes we were ready to roll. This car seat feels well-made and sturdy. The extra padding throughout the seat and multiple seat positions ensure a comfortable ride for my little guy. The plush fabric feels very luxurious and I love the midnight slate color. One of my favorite features is the removable seat cover that can be both washed and dried. I also love that this seat has dual cup holders that are dishwasher safe. We all know how dirty car seats can get and these two features will keep it looking its best for many years! The one complaint that I have is that the straps tend to get easily twisted. This can be a little stressful when trying to get a wiggly toddler buckled up. Overall, this is a good, safe, car seat that will accommodate my little one for several years. That's very important to me because my daughter is always dropping snacks or dropping her sippy cup onto the seat. The car seat seems very well constructed and comes with all safety features necessary such as the side impact cushions and extra pillows for safety and comfort. One last feature that I love is that this car seat will last my child for 10 years, not having to buy new seats at each stage is a big positive. The first feature I would change would be to make the belt that attaches to the car anchors, a little longer. When I was installing the car seat I had to use almost the entire strap with no excess left over which made it hard to install. I also was not able to follow the instructions from the manual (I have installed many car seats because this is my 4th child) and needed to watch a you tube video. Once I saw the video I was able to easily install the car seat in my SUV. Another feature that needs improvement is the buckle that the car seat belt clicks into. It is very short which makes it very hard to buckle and unbuckle. It is not ideal when trying to get the child in and out. If it was a little longer, I think it would make it much easier! This carseat is soft, comfortable, and I love that it will grow with my little guy. I was not able to install this car seat on my own. Once I got my husband involved and we consulted the manual several times, we were able to install this seat in about 15 minutes. You do have to move the fabric to get to the straps for installation, but it easily goes back in place. Adjusting the recline was simple, and my little guy loves being in his new seat. He is currently 1 year old and weighs about 20 pounds, so I am excited to have a seat that we will be able to use for a long time. I also love that this seat will let us rear face for so long.The fabric is soft and I love the sleek look. The harness is very well padded, and my little one loves being in this seat. I have two kids and have used 5 different convertible car seats and the Maxi Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat is hands down my favorite for several reasons. The car seat was extremely easy to adjust to fit my 15 month old. Being able to adjust the length of the torso is a feature I haven't seen on other car seats and I love it since my kids are tall and I'll be using the Magellan 5-in-1 for many years to come. Another feature that I love is the size and profile of the Magellan 5-in-1. It fits in the rear facing position without having to move my front seat forward. The fabric feels very nice and I appreciate that the dark color doesn't show stains. I haven't tried taking the fabric cover off to wash it yet, but from reading the instructions, it looks very simple. The headrest is very comfortable! My son fell asleep the first time we took a ride with the carseat and he's not normally a car sleeper! When I first got the carseat I thought I would love the buckle holders, but I haven't gotten in the habit of putting them into the pockets when I unstrap my son, so they don't get much use. I love this car seat and I'm so glad I received it through the weeSpring Parent Panel. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a car seat to last them from birth until you no longer need a booster seat!

I was given this Convertible Car Seat to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I was excited to try this Maxi Cosi convertible car seat for my 19 month old daughter as I was in the market for a car seat that could grow with her. The car seat was easy to install straight out of the box, and with a few clicks was safely and securely installed rear-facing in my small-SUV. The seat itself is a bit on the heavier side as most convertible car seats are, so it is ideal for staying in 1 car, rather than moving back and forth between cars if your family has multiple cars. The fabric of the seat is soft and well designed and is a breeze to remove and wash in the washing machine (a plus for messy toddlers!). The five point harness kept my daughter snug and secure and the side padding made me feel she would be adequately protected in the event of a crash. The cupholders are a nice feature, and one my daughter is old enough to know how to use them will come in handy. While my daughter is tall and large for her age, the inserts that came with the car seat appeared easy to use for even the smallest babies (down to 5 pounds!) and the headrest was incredibly simple to adjust to her height and automatically adjusted the straps to fit her height as well. There were a few minor things that could be improved upon in future models. The buckle for the five point harness is surrounded by padding; while this is great to improve the comfort for my daughter, the buckle was often mildly difficult to access or buckle without fabric getting in the way due to its position down in the padded material. Additionally, the padding around the shoulder straps moves quite a bit and my daughter was rapidly a pro at removing it and then crying because the straps irritated her neck. Overall, this is a well-made, very safe seat with excellent features and I look forward to this seat growing with my daughter.

I was happy to receive the Maxi-Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible car seat for being a part of the weeSpring parent panel. I was looking for a new car seat for our 2 year old daughter that could last her a few years, but I was happy to see this could last her until she out of car seats all together. My first impression of the car seat was that it looks very high quality. I personally like the all black fabric since the seat is prone to stains. The car seat came with extra pillows to support an infant, but I did not use these since my daughter is old enough to ride without those. The fabric is soft but it still held up well to washing and drying. It was easy to remove but it took me a minute to put it back on. I let my daughter have snacks in the car, so I have to wash my car seats frequently to keep them from getting gross. I feel like I can wash this cover and it won't fall apart. I also really like the shoulder strap pads. They make the shoulder harness a lot more comfortable for my daughter. I love the notches in the seat that hold back the straps. It is always so annoying to have to dig the straps from behind her back but this feature makes it a lot easier for me to get to them quickly. The car seat was easy to adjust to fit her height too. The only downside to the car seat was installing it in my car. My daughter rides facing the front and it took me a while to use the LATCH system and get it tight enough so it wasn't sliding around in the backseat. I drive a small sedan so maybe that's what made it difficult. It sits up pretty high so she can see a lot when she's looking out the window which makes her happy. Overall, the seat feels very safe, and I am happy that this will be our car seat for the next several years.

Full disclosure: Our expectations weren't exceedingly high with the prospect of trying the Maxi Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat...it being our third child and all. We figured "anything would do the trick," and since our previous safety seats / carriers were no longer usable (and we received it through the weeSpring Parent Panel) we figured, why not?! Right out of the box, I was pleased with the manner in which it was packaged, protected and secured. There's nothing worse than spending valuable time researching costly products, only to have them arrive damaged or compromised. The overall construction of the seat is well above average and seemingly sound - we'll see if the materials withstand the test of time. Which leads me to arguably the most important aspect of this seat...the longevity. Touted as usable from 5-120 pounds, we could be using this seat for the next 10 years (or in my case, and based on the weight limits alone, until I was a sophomore in high school). My only criticism (and we've only used the seat for 3 weeks), resides with the position of the crotch latch / buckle. For a rear-facing newborn, the buckle rests VERY low in the seat, which makes it EXTREMELY difficult to buckle and unfasten (especially with a wiggly baby). While this may seem like a minor issue, it's a function that is so basic and fundamental, it simply should not exist. I have attempted to alleviated the issue by trying some of the 7 reclining positions, but without success. Merely adding an extra 1" of buckle would make the world of difference. Quick recap: The aesthetic, safety and construction of the product are unmatched. However, some of the seemingly easy functions (like buckling them) could be fine-tuned and improved.

I was given this Convertible Car Seat to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. My son started using it at 20 months rear facing and he's been riding in it daily for 2 months now. The material is luxurious, the colors are subtle and strong, yet the cover is easily removable for cleaning. Besides being very easy to remove the fabric is also very simple to put back on the car seat, and I felt like it went on without any issues. The cushioning is ample. One of my actual complaints with the seat is that the back cushion attachment seems almost TOO cushy, but we removed it and he was much more comfortable. The car seat is easy to install and is probably my favorite feature. The LATCH tethers work great, but we also checked it out with the seatbelt install, which went very smooth as well. It's also very easy and VERY customizable for size and position. The 14 headrest adjustment positions are spaced well and I don't feel like my son has been 'in between' positions yet. He seems comfortable in the recline it's set at and the safety level position is easy to see and adjust to. The harness buckles easily and there are convenient nooks on the side of the seat to store the seat belt part when you pull them out. The chest buckle is different than I've seen before, but I feel like the design makes it more difficult for the child to unbuckle themselves. We haven't turned my son to forward facing yet. He'll be two soon and although he is in the 95% for height, he seems extremely comfortable back there. With all the positivity, why'd I dock it a star? Cup holders. They're great in theory and there are 2! They disconnect easily from the seat for cleaning, which is brilliant...but they're SO SMALL. Almost none of my straw cups fit in the cupholders and snack holders don't fit either. I actually looked to see if you could buy bigger cupholders as an added accessory, but at this time, MaxiCosi hasn't added that. Other than that minor complaint, the seat is wonderful!

"WOW" was the first impression when taking the car seat of the the box! I loved the modern and sleek design a lot! Fabric and padding feel so luxurious that I want to sit in it too! It looks very cute and inviting! Installation: my husband read the menu and installed it with no issue at all. He's had many experiences installing our other car seats already, and he said that the belt lock off feature was truly helpful, and it makes the whole process a lot easier. Adjustment: our daughter is already forward facing, so we don't get to try the reclining features, but the headrest adjustment is super easy. Harness adjustments are pretty typical and smooth too. Comfort level: we love that the seat area is wider than our other car seats; and the curved shape seems ergonomic and comfortable. The head rest padding feels soft and comfy for a nap. Fabric is soft and luxurious. Overall looks like a first-class ride! Convenience: the harness is easy to use. We liked how the buckle feels substantial and sturdy, not flimsy at all. The dual cup holders are extra awesome! They are both accessible and out of the way; and they won't fall off like the one on our other car seat! Our daughter loved them. We haven't found the need to clean the cover yet, so there's no verdict about how easy it is to take off and wash the cover. We also don't know whether the seat will be hot or not in the summer. I have two little ones in convertible car seats. The Maxi Cosi is an awesome option for those that are ready to move out of their infant seat and will be able to grow with the seat until they are ready for just a seat belt. This chair is exceptionally comfortable. The girls took to sitting in it in the house before we had a chance to install it! They were just lounging in it! The biggest downfall is the ease of use once the chair is installed. The installation was a breeze and it was also easy to be sure the seat was level and in the correct position. The only downfall, and this is a daily occurrence, thus the -2 stars, is that it is so hard to loosen the straps every time I put the baby in the seat. It is nearly impossible to bend your wrist and fit a finger into press on the lever to allow the belts to be pulled loose. We've had quite a few car seats between our two children and each of them we have tried because there were features that fit our needs especially because both children are on the taller side. I was given the Maxi Cosi Magellan 5-n-1 convertible carseat to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. My first impressions after unboxing was that the it had a very stylish look and the fabric has a soft plush luxurious feel. The car seat seemed like a high-quality product, very solid and sturdy (weighs about 27lbs). Before installing in my car, I wanted to adjust the straps and determine which child would be a better fit as I have a rear facing 20-month toddler and a very tall 6-year-old who needs a high back booster. I decided to try the seat for both kids for a period of two weeks. Installation was straight forward, I installed both configurations (forward and rear) using the seat belt and tethered the for forward facing. I did not experience any problems. The Magellan has a lot of great features and one feature that I am most excited to see is the removable washable seat cover and cup holders; the entire thing can be washed. Many seats claim they are the "only seat you will need" yet you cannot remove and wash the cover. This feature alone puts the seat several points above the rest. Thank you Maxi Cosi! The safety feature that I like most is the air-filled side impact protection. It is wonderful to not have to deal with the "styrofoam' as it can be easily broken. There are a few tweaks that would really really make this seat wonderful: easier access to the strap adjuster button; 2 sets of cup holders-one for toddler sized cups which are a bit wider and the other for regular water bottles and cups. It would be helpful to have a place on the seat or some mechanism where you can place the buckle so that it's in one place and not have to dig around. Overall the Magellan is a great seat, I have very tall children, and both are comfortable in the seat.

I was very fortunate to be able to test this car seat out by being on the Weespring Parent Panel. I was very excited to receive this car seat. When we got the car seat, my 18 month old enjoyed climbing in and out of it in the house. I love the plushness of the material and the ease of pulling the cover off to wash it. The safety features that I liked were the additional support pillows, the frame, and the 7 different positions. It was super easy to adjust to the proper height and position. This car seat was the first one to not have my daughter's head droop or fall to far once she had fallen asleep. This car seat is kind of heavy and was very difficult for me to install, rear facing, in my Subaru Forester. Placing the car seat in wasn't the issue, but securing it tightly was. I needed to add a pool noodle underneath for it to be in the proper rear facing position and I still felt that it was not secure enough. This was the major con for this seat. I will be installing this again when my daughter goes forward facing. I am hopeful that I will have better luck with it when I go to reinstall it again when I transition her to forward facing. How easy was it for you to install this car seat?

I received this product through the weeSpring Parent Panel. My favorite feature is that they've made it pretty easy to keep up with cleaning. Easy to pop off, not quite as easy to get back on, but you get the hang of it. More importantly you can wash and dry the thing, so no more anxiously waiting to see if it dried overnight (or waiting longer to wash because you forget to do it overnight). Same goes for the cupholders--awesome addition we didn't have with our other carseat, and removable and that much easier to clean the sticky messes. While in theory I love the idea of a convertible car seat, the truth is I haven't used it much for my 4 month old after fitting him in for a trial run. It was easy to adjust and he seemed comfortable in it, but the bucket carseat works much better for us logistically. My two year old does love the seat, it's much softer fabric than the one we'd been using and include a very plush headrest. With summer temperatures approaching, I worry a little he'll overheat easily but I think this is a general issue with carseat construction, they just can't be all that breathable. Installation-wise we used the rear-facing latch and didn't have any issues. It is a pretty wide carseat, but fit fine in my husband's Pilot. The chest clip I've found a little difficult to use/adjust, but that also means my toddler can't undo it or wriggle out, as he's done with our other carseat. Looking forward to being able to use this as my kiddos grow, and will definitely be a contender when we're looking for two more carseats when the 4 month old outgrows the bucket seat.

As a mom of 3 kids 5 and under, I have used a fair share of car seats and I am very particular about the things that I am looking for in a car seat for our family. Being able to safely install the seat in my car (a small/midsize SUV) is my first priority. The Maxi-Cosi installs easily using the LATCH and I am even able to fit it three across in the the back seat with our two other-branded carseats. I am currently using it rear-facing for my 1-year-old and I loved how easy it was to adjust the angle of the carseat - no need to use a towel or pool noodle! I also love that the carseat is "shorter" rear-facing than my others. There is significantly more room between the carseat and the seat in front, which allows either driver or passenger to have more room for adjustment. The second thing that I love about this carseat is the fabric and comfort of the seat. It has a plush and comfortable feel while also being pretty easy to wipe out (I have not yet tried to take the cover off and wash, but you can do that too). It also seems like it will be durable - which is necessary for longevity! The seat itself is very comfortable for my little guy and he often falls asleep on longer trips. So far, we have taken a few 6-hour car trips and he has seemed comfortable and content for the entire trip. Overall, this carseat is a winner! It checks all of my boxes of safety, easy install, fits 3-across with other seats, comfort, easy cleaning, and longevity and I would recommend it to any parent or caregiver looking for one seat to meet their needs! I am a mother of 3 ages 6, 4 and 1. I have tried a variety of car seats and three different types of maxi-cosi. This is by far one of my favorite carseats! I loved this carseat right out of the box it looked very slick and although sturdy it was still not bulky. This one unlike the other maxi-cosi I have tried in the past did not have the bulky base. It also looks different when adjusted to different sizes. My favorite feature was the fact that when adjusted for my 6 year old it did changed from looking like a carseat for a baby it looked age appropriate and my son was so happy! This carseat is very easy to adjust, I used it for my 1yr old and my 6yr old and it was super easy frustration free! It was also very easy to install, it was easy to install both rear facing and forward facing. The cover was super easy to remove and washing was a breeze and putting it back on the carseat which I find to be the hardest sometimes was not! I would prefer the magnetic chest buckle over the traditional one. Also this might be due to my son's velcro straps but there was a little bit of pilling. We received this car seat to review through the weeSpring parent panel. When it arrived, we were a week away from a trip including a airport travel, and had been praying that our 21 month old could hold off on growing that last inch so we could keep him in his infant seat/stroller combo to have one less thing to carry through security. We planned to test the car seat and then switch back temporarily for the trip. We pulled it out of the box and our son, who absolutely hates going in the car seat, climbed right in and refused to get out! While the honeymoon period has worn off a bit, my son tolerates this seat incredibly well as opposed to thrashing and rolling every time we'd try to buckle him in. We never turned back and quickly put his old seat in storage, gladly adding the much larger seat to our luggage! We love how user friendly the Magellan is. I have to say it was quite intimidating out of the box, and the instructions were a little bit overwhelming since it includes instructions for rear facing, forward facing and booster seat installations, but when we actually figured out what we were looking at and started making the adjustments and getting it into the car it was an absolute breeze! I love the fabrics, how sturdy the seat feels, how easy it is to adjust, loosen and tighten, the versatility with how long the seat can be used and I LOVE the strap holders so I don't have to dig the buckles out from under my child to secure him! My only complaint about the entire seat is that the straps twist pretty easily, especially when using the strap holders. I feel like I'm constantly trying to untwist them which could easily be addressed by either making the straps a little bit thicker or the passage through the buckles a little narrower. That being said, because the material isn't tight through the buckles it's pretty easy to untwist as well. We will enjoy this seat for many, many years to come!

I was so excited to receive this car seat as a part of the weeSpring parent panel. It has a very nice sleek design and looks very modern and stylish, the fabric is very plush and seems very comfortable. My favorite feature is the overall design and look of the carseat, seems very "high end". When we went to install it though, I was a tad turned off by the set up. We used the latch system and making sure they go through the correct route and then setting up the harness system to the correct hight of the child was a little daunting. Took me a tad more time than I would've liked, but once I got it figured out it was set and ready to go in the car! I felt like getting a super snug fit was a little hard, but my husband was able to help with that. Taking off the cover to get the latch system set up was fairly easy and I like that it's removable to clean, will really come in handy! Overall this seat is awesome and I know it will last us a long time to come! My only gripe was the setting up to install it, but definitely not a deal breaker!!

Thank you weeSpring Parent Panel for giving me this convertible car seat! We all love this car seat (both parents and kids). The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was the fabric, it's so soft and luxurious. The height and recline adjustments are clearly marked and intuitive to use, so I really only needed the instruction manual to double check the appropriate settings for the height and weight of the kids. Changing the settings is so easy to fit one child or another that this will be our go-to car seat for switching into the grandparents' cars as needed. The first time installing the seat was a little tricky, but that was mainly due to the wording in the instruction manual, not because of positioning the straps, getting it tight enough, etc. We own two other convertible car seats and this is by far the easiest to install. Tightening and loosening the straps is easy to get a secure fit. Both our three year old (forward facing) and 19 month old (rear facing) have taken turns using it and they both have been very comfortable and they love having the cup holders. We haven't had to remove the cover to clean it yet, but from installing the car seat, I can see that the cover is easy to get on and off. Another thing that I love about this seat is that when my daughter falls asleep (rear facing) her head stays back in one place and doesn't roll forward, which hasn't been the case with our other seats in rear facing mode. I guess the head rest has more cushion or give which allows her head to comfortably settle in. The only thing I would change is to make it slimmer, for those of us who have to fit three kiddos in the back row of a sedan. There are so many things to consider when purchasing a carseat - after receiving this carseat from WeeSpring Parent Panel, I realized the Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible carseat was an obvious "check" on many of those decisions (however, a downside: if you are looking for an infant carseat for a travel system, this is not it). Several great features: More compact than most, making things more comfortable in the front seat. Just about every feature has a place when used or not used (efficient design)! My child seems comfortable even with long drives we take. Love the strap and buckle pads; no complaints from my child if she sits on the buckle or about the straps hurting her neck as I tighten them (I actually like that she can remove them if they start to annoy her and they are very easy to put back on). I tend to put snacks in the cupholders and like that I can just twist off the holder to wash without having to remove anything else. I was particularly impressed with the safety features of side impact airbag protection (which double as a great place for baby's head during nap time) as well as SUPER easy ways to adjust basically all dimensions of the seat along with clear instructions for how to fit it best for my child's size. The fabric is super plush and so easy to remove, wash, and reassemble. The biggest downside in my opinion was the seat belt installation. Once I figured it out it was easier to replicate but for some reason it was not intuitive for me to do initially - I had to keep referencing the manual. For the car with the LATCH system, it was much more simple to install. This seat is streamlined but still bulky enough to not want to move often. A more minor downside was the size of the cupholders ... they are way to small to fit any cup I have well. Overall, timeless style with great features that will keep my child safe over the decade that we can use it - some minor downsides experienced but would recommend to friends.

So far we really like this car seat. We have a young baby, and we love that this is a car seat that can grow with our kiddo -- we won't have to invest in multiple seats as she gets older, and for us that's a huge bonus. The seat is very nice looking and stylish, and the fabric is soft and comfortable. We like the infant insert for coziness with a smaller baby. The cover is fairly easy to get on and off to wash, and this is definitely important for a car seat that you're planning on using for years. Since it's a convertible car seat, there are lots of adjustment features (for sizing and recline), which are straight forward. The seat is big! But, I feel like that's what comes with a car seat that has the ability to size up as your child grows. One small con is that the black fabric, while really plush feeling and nice looking, gets hot in this summer heat. Another is installation -- in addition to the booklet, I think video installation instructions would be a great help to ensure people are getting it right. Overall, we're very pleased with this seat. It is clear that Maxi Cosi wanted to design the most safe, comfortable carseat when they made the Magellan 5-in-1. My favorite aspects are related to safety, comfort, and adjustability. There is an impressive amount of side impact protection, which is a safety feature I look for as an ER nurse whose #1 priority is safety. The fabric is high quality and the padding is so soft. The air-padded headrest adjusts easily in 14 positions & the torso panels have 3 height positions for the perfect fit from 5-120 lbs. It came with 3 removable pads: an infant cushion, a lumbar support, & a head support. The padding on the shoulder straps is impressive because it extends below the chest buckle for comfort & has grips on the back. I am confident that there is a comfortable setting for every child in the weight/height range this seat supports. Getting my baby in & out of this seat is made easier by grippy pockets on the sides that hold the metal crotch buckles, keeping the straps pulled out of the way. This is a huge plus! Other reviewers complained about the straps being difficult to tighten, but I haven't had this issue. I was taught to tighten carseat straps by first pulling slack through the crotch buckle, then pulling the adjusting strap to tighten. I found that keeping the shoulder pads pulled down in the correct position over the chest buckle helps ensure a tight fit. I trust the safety of this harness 100%. Overall, this is a great seat that we will enjoy for many years. We were overjoyed to receive the seat free from Weespring Parent Panel to test in exchange for an honest review. Installation was annoying (it took an hour!) but since we are able to leave the seat installed long term, this won't be an issue again. The benefits definitely outweigh the installation difficulties. This seat is very safe, and top of the line in comfort. Getting her in and out of the seat is so easy. Tightening the harness is simple and it provides a safe, tight, and very comfy fit.

This car seat and I didn't get off on the best foot. Installation was a little tricky to figure out and it wasn't very intuitive. However, since I was able to figure it out I have really enjoyed it. It's a beautiful car seat and the fabric is very soft and luxurious. I wish they made regular seats that comfortable! I haven't needed to clean the fabric, as any spills I've been able to wipe clean. I have disassembled the cover and it was simple to take off and put back on. As a mom, I'm obviously most concerned about the safety aspect of the car seat. Magellan somehow married comfort and safety with this car seat. The straps are very secure, but also easy to tighten and loosen, and comfortable on my three-year-old daughter's neck. It drove me crazy how her previous car seat would leave lines on her neck, even with the padding. Overall, I would definitely recommend this car seat. We plan on using it until my daughter graduates to sitting in the regular seat. I received the Magellan 5-in-1 car seat at no cost from WeeSpring Parent Panel for reviewing it. We love this car seat. My one year old fits snuggly but comfortably in it. It is easy to install and remove. I love that it can last until she is 10 years old. I hadn't heard of this brand until receiving the car seat to try and I am thoroughly impressed. It's fairly easy to clean. I do with the cushions were a bit easier to put back on the seat after washing but it doesn't change my mind about how great the seat is. It feels luxurious and will definitely hold up for 9 more years of use!

When I first became pregnant I wanted the best most safest products for my baby. When I saw the Maxi Così Magellan 5 in 1 car seat. I was happy to see that it had many safety options. I really loved the design of the seat overall, it looks so sleek and clean. It also has many adjustment positions and options for your infant and growing child. I love that this is the only seat you'll ever need. There are side panels in the headrest that are filled with air designed to absorb shock from an accident. I can finally drive around knowing my baby is safe in the backseat with the Maxi Cosi Brand. Easy to set up and install in the car, however I do have a few complaints now that I have gotten extensive use of the product between both cars and making it my primary seat for my baby. I also noticed that this seat is tight in a compact suv. I currently own a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan and with the car full this seat takes a lot of space when in the middle. I also noticed that the buckles are a hassle. I am always having to fish for the buckles from underneath my baby, it'd be a lot easier if they had added some sort of rubber stoppers to stop the buckles from falling off to the sides all the time. Happy to have received this seat through WeeSpring Parent Panel.

First and foremost, I would like to thank the weeSpring parent panel for the wonderful opportunity to try out this Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat. By far, my favorite feature of this car seat has been the versatility of being able to using it across multiple age groups. I have 4 children ranging in ages from 3 through 6 and we have tried it out with all of them since receiving it. It has served as an additional seat in our primary car, 2nd car, and grandparent's car. The initial install with latch took about 15 minutes, and after a few times of learning the ins and outs of the seat, we are down to about 5 minutes of set-up. Straps were difficult to adjust at first as they weren't intuitive to figure out. It was necessary to consult the manual a few times until we got the hang of them. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the product and foresee getting many years out of this product. It looks like it will hold up great. We have yet to attempt removal of the fabric or to clean it, as it hasn't deemed necessary yet.

This is a sleek, comfortable, easy to install and adjust car seat that will grow with my baby. We are very happy with it. First, installation was pretty straightforward and adjusting the seat is super easy. We adjusted the seat before installing it, with the help of our 19-month-old who was thrilled to sit in it and help. The restraints, headrest height, and angle are all very easy and intuitive to adjust. Once it was adjusted, we installed it rear-facing using the LATCH system. I can't speak to front-facing or using the tethers, but the only tricky part of installation was finding the LATCH clips (they're near the front, under the seat, you have to remove the cover to find them; the manual is a little unclear). Once you've located and adjusted the LATCH belt, it's easier to click in than another convertible seat we've used. Next, we're very happy with the safety features of this seat. We want to rear-face as long as possible and the weight and height limits of this seat - 40 lbs and 40 inches - make it possible to do so. The seat also seems very comfortable and practical. The fabric is very soft (and very easy to remove for cleaning), there aren't any protruding objects that might irritate the child, and the headrest seems very comfortable for napping and otherwise. The built-in cupholders are a nice addition; they're silicone (or silicone-like) so more malleable than most, and so can mold to fit cups or other items that might not work in other cup holders. I also appreciate that the child can't remove them and "play" with them. Finally, the look is head and shoulders above comparable seats. We have it in black, and it is truly the sleekest-looking convertible car seat I've seen. It's not bulky at all, like convertible car seats can tend to be. When I was given the opportunity to review the Maxi Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat as part of the weeSpring parent panel, I was very excited as I had just learned that my husband and I are expecting our second child! Having a car seat that can potentially last for up to 10 years is such a great concept and when the car seat arrived I immediately believed it could function for a child that big. This car seat is huge! Having only worked with car seats for children up to 5 or so, this was a bit of a shocker. This car seat has the weight to match so be sure you have someone help you with installation, especially if you are installing in a car that is lower to the ground than an SUV. Be sure to take all necessary straps out as well because the rear-facing straps are hidden under the fabric (yes you will remove the fabric on occasion for this car seat) and getting to the one you need can be a little difficult. The fabric is very soft and smooth and luckily it goes back into place easily enough and doesn't look like you clumsily pulled it apart (even if you did). Cleaning is a breeze as well, just make sure it is fully dried before reinstalling the fabric. Once installed and all straps/locks are in place, you can adjust nearly every aspect of this car seat. From the angle at the waist to the height of the headrest and all the cushion underneath, this car seat was built for comfort and safety. Everything has its own lever for adjustment as baby grows.. Though we now have two car seats and one child, our baby has moved to the other side of the car into the new car seat and appears set on growing into it until he is grown!

I am so excited about the Maxi Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat. This product literally has everything I am looking for in a car seat - comfort, easy to adjust and install, lasts for many years, and most importantly is safe. My favorite thing about this car seat is that it can be used from birth to 10 years. This seat is saving me the hassle of searching for new seats, saving me money, and I can use it at every car seat and booster using stage! One thing to keep in mind is that if you are using it from birth, there is no way to remove the car seat without completely uninstalling it. I didn't start using this until he was able to sit up, but had I used it earlier I wouldn't have been able to run errands with him since I would have had to carry him. My other favorite thing about this seat is how safe it is. It has multiple points of adjustment so I can customize it to my child, and it also has thick (yet comfy) padding to protect him in case of impact. It has multiple recline and torso positions for each setting (rear and front facing, booster) so you truly can find the safest position. The car seat has a very well written instruction manual, making it easy to adjust. I was nervous it would be difficult to find the information I needed since the car seat has so many positions, but the manual clearly guides you through the steps for each stage. The fabric is so soft and the cushioning is both comfortable and safe for my child. It also seems breathable, which will be nice in the summer! The seat cover is easy to remove and very easy to clean. The car seat was easy to install, which was wonderful since you need to get that part perfect! There's also an extra latch to help secure it tightly, which was helpful since my car is a little older. Overall I am so pleased and impressed with this car seat and would absolutely recommend it. I have a 21 month old who hated getting put in her car seat... it was a struggle every single time. Now she's using the Maxi Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 and there have been no issues, it seems like she is much more comfortable! She's still rear facing (27 lbs) and has plenty of room. The head rest has ample security and is a comfortable place when she falls asleep. Although, I do wonder if she'd like the headrest once she's older and using it as a booster. For now it's a great fit for both the toddler and my 4 year old. From a safety perspective, my main car seat concern is harness straps that are easy to use/pull. I want them to pull tight so I feel comfortable knowing they're buckled in safely and correctly, but with other car seats I've had I just can't pull the strap tight enough. With the Maxi Cosi I have no issues! I can easily pull the harness tight enough that I know she is in there securely. The seat also has harness buckle holders on each side, so that you can easily clip them there and not have to dig under your child once you put them in the seat, but I didn't find this particular feature easy to use. Although the thought was great, I find myself not taking the time to use it. A small miss, on an upgraded feature. I did, however, love the two cup holders which twist out and are dishwasher friendly. For the setup of the seat, I did everything myself (I read the manual). It was reassuring to know I could set up, install and tighten the seat by myself (my husband did pull it a tad bit tighter once it was in the car). Adjustment was easy, although I'm sure I'll be getting the manual back out once she gets into the new ranges of use. With such a positive experience, we've decided to forgo use of our old convertible seat, and use Maxi Cosi on a daily basis - both toddler and mommy are much happier. WeeSpring Parent Panel provided me with this Maxi Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat to test and review honestly. My first impression of the car seat upon receiving it was that it was more substantial than I expected. It was heavy and solid. It felt really sturdy, but definitely not something you would want to be moving back and forth between different vehicles. The plush fabric looked hard-wearing and of a higher quality than many other car seats I had seen. I was initially concerned that the seat would be too large to fit rear-facing in my compact car, but was pleasantly surprised when installed it fit well behind the passenger seat without having to move the passenger seat too far forward. The seat can be installed with LATCH or belt. I opted to use LATCH as my daughter was only 18 pounds. Install was a little tricky to get the recline angle correct for rear-facing children before tightening the seat down properly. My husband and I had to reinstall three times to get the leveling marble into the right zone for rear-facing usage. Once installed, however, the seat was rock solid and does not move at all. My baby liked the seat from the first time she was strapped in. I was really worried at first that the black neoprene-esque material might be hot in the AZ summers, but so far she comes out of the seat feeling surprisingly cool (no sweaty back!). I love the tabs that you can place the belt buckles into to prevent the arm straps from falling behind the baby and having to pull them out from under her. It would be nice if there were a similar system for the crotch strap - we have to fish it out from under her every time. If you are looking for a convertible car seat, the Magellan is a great choice. It's been easy so far to adjust as she's grown and we love that this one seat can carry her from infancy through childhood. While it is an expensive seat compared to some others on the market, it's a worthwhile investment. Highly recommended!

I received the Maxi Cosi Magellan car seat as part of the weespring parent panel for my honest review. I was very excited to receive this car seat to test against the safety 1st car seat I have been using and even more so against the Maxi cosi Magellan max that I was using for my son. My first impression was that I love the look and feel of the fabric on this car seat. It's cushioned and feels more comfortable than other car seats I've used in the past. My favorite thing about this car seat was the easy installation. It is such a breeze to install especially compared to our safety 1st car seat that me and my husband both end up frustrated at when having to get it in and out of the car. The red release buttons on the connectors make securing the seat into your vehicle extremely easy. The fabric on this car seat is supposed to be removable for washing even when installed into a car. I like that this is an option so you don't always have to take the whole car seat out, but the fabric seems kind of hard to remove. The cup holders are a flexible rubber type material and remove very easily. Having removable cup holders are a must with messy toddlers. The only downside is the cup holders seem small to me and don't fit all of the cups we use. Another feature that is VERY important to me is the safety chest harness. The chest harness on the Maxi Cosi Magellan car seat tightens so well. I feel safe with my children in this car seat because the chest harness adjusts properly and easily. The safety 1st seat I have has to be tugged on pretty hard to get it tight enough and the Maxi Cosi Magellan Max doesn't tighten at all on the shoulders but gets too tight around the legs. Another thing that I find simple to adjust on this car seat is the positioning from infant, to toddler, to child. There is a lever above the headrest that you just press and pull upward to adjust the height and two buttons on each side to adjust the torso. Overall I would 100% recommend this seat!

Our family was extremely excited to be selected to receive this car seat from the Wee Spring Parent panel to tryout. Unfortunately, we were quickly disappointed as soon as we attempted to install it in our vehicle. The installation took a significant amount of time and several attempts to get secure enough to be able to place our baby in it. The straps were also a disappointment. The buckles easily slipped down under our baby and the neck protection pads easily fell off or became twisted. The only 2 positives about this seat are the safety features and the comfort. Our little one found it extremely comfortable and fell asleep in it often. We were definitely happy to have received this for free and not have purchased it, we would have returned it.

I received the Maxi Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat as a part of the wee Spring Parent Panel to review. First of all, the look of this seat is super nice, sleek and the material is super nice feeling and easy to wipe down. I'm super jealous of my baby's super cosy seat. It feels super comfortable and my baby girl seems to love sitting in it. The seat is a beast, it's pretty heavy but it also gives me peace of mind. Installing it I to my car wasn't awful, but it wasn't the easiest to put in, it was a little frustrating. However, it was much easier to install after the first doing it the first time. Putting baby in and getting her out of the seat can be a little clumsy at times, most due to the size of the seat and the height of it in the car. It is easy to tighten the straps once buckled. The main buckle is a little difficult to get undone, so getting baby out of the seat isn't the easiest due to that. Overall I really love this seat. If you buy it, make sure to read the instructions because while the seat is fantastic and gives me peace of mind safety wise, but is confusing at first, so read the owners menu!!

Safety is the name of the game with this car seat and I'm all about it! This car seat is a little heavier than others we have used, but it's because they have packed in a lot of safety and comfort. Both of the vertical adjustments were very easy to learn and use. The recline has so many more settings than any other car seat so my son no longer head bobs while he's sleeping, which was always a concern of mine. Also the easy to remove infant inserts are so plush and cozy. The material itself is very soft and smooth. We have the black one, so I haven't felt the need to wash it yet, but as I was exploring how to adjust everything and checking out how it converts to a booster, I noticed that the fabric cover pieces are pretty simple to remove and replace; very similar to other car seats, so this should not cause anyone grief! Installation with the anchor and latch system is a breeze. Two clicks and a pull of the belt and we were rear facing installed. There's even an added safety feature for if you plan to use the car seatbelt that locks the seatbelt into place, and I've never seen this on a car seat before.
