As a mom of four, I've had my fair share of different car seats. And let me tell you, this one is by far, the absolute best! The carry features are so convenient, especially when you have a sleeping baby and need to run a quick errand. My baby also loves to be close to me, so we both have really enjoyed the cross body strap. No more crying in the stroller! The inner removable carrier is lightweight and sleek. It's also so nice to not have to pack the whole car seat in and out of our house using the soft padded handles. The Coral XP really is a revolutionary car seat. It is beautiful, functional, and easy to install. My baby loves his new car seat and mama loves all the bells and whistles. This has to be the comfiest car seat that I've found. I could not believe how much more comfortable my little guy looks in the Maxi Cosi Coral XP car seat compared to another infant carrier we have. Pros: - supportive, but cushiony - cross-body carry was great for tight spaces (I love carrying my guy in his seat when I'm running a quick errand) - the way the base is shaped (it's flatter than another one we have), it has more functionality when the car seat is not in the car (I could put a small bag on it with no issue) - beyond easy to set up in my car - sunshade is breathable - smaller profile; takes up less space in the car - handle carry is convenient; I love this functionality for running in and out of daycare Cons: - sunshade pops out easy - lower weight and height limit (this was my determining reason for giving this only 4 stars) - cross-body carry is a bit bouncy; I'm not sure if it's my height and where the carrier falls on on my body, but my little guy wobbles a little bit more - it's not a big deal to me when I can walk slowly in a store, but it's not my preferred carry method when I need to move quickly - carrier is a little heavy (but if you use the inner shell with soft handle carrier, that solves the issue) Overall, I have been very pleased with this carrier, and wish that I had it with my first babe! I love the versatility of Max Cosi Coral XP Infant seat especially with the different carrying options available. The seat itself looks and feels very comfortable and the fabric feels premium. My son always seems to really enjoy sitting in it and I love the shade feature so I do not need to place a fabric cover over the entire thing to keep the sun out so he stays cooler. I love the option for the crossbody and arm carry so it does not feel as awkward as carrying other car seats would and I appreciate the innovation. I was really impressed with all that this car seat has to offer. First, the seat itself comes with great support pads (head, shoulder/neck, and torso/bottom) for the baby that can be removed for fit as needed. All of the support ensures my baby is happy and comfortable in the seat. I love that this car seat has three parts and allows you to carry just the seat itself. It makes carrying the car seat around so much more manageable and way lighter. My preferred carrying option was the inside soft padded handles. This seat allows for not one but TWO ergonomic carrying options! I liked that I could also use the shoulder strap when I needed my hands to grab one or both of my other two kids to cross the street or while running errands. The plastic handle on the seat itself has a soft rubbery grip which is nice, but even when the two parts are together I still used the inner padded handles. The only downside I can personally see to the seat is that you can use it up to 22 pounds and if you have a big baby you'll need to transition out if it sooner. I wish this seat had been on the market when I brought my first child home from the hospital five years ago. I am thankful to have received this seat from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I would highly recommend this seat based on my experience.

I got this infant seat to try through the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my review, but I'm in no way obligated to give glowing reviews here - truly. So I can honestly say that I am in LOVE with this product. It's probably the most ground-breaking thing to happen to infant seats since whenever the base/seat concept was introduced. There is the base, and then the seat like most on the market now, but then there's this smaller little lightweight carrier as a third layer that you can just pluck out to carry baby around in and it is GENIUS. With my older 2 kids, I transitioned then into the convertible seats earlier than I would have preferred just because they got heavy to lug around. But this one is lightweight and super easy to maneuver - with a shoulder strap to help! The seat is also just as luxurious as you'd expect from maxi Cosi, and installation is so easy my husband actually uninstalled it so he could show me how easy it was to install :) If I'm being really picky, the one thing I would have liked to see is a sun shade on the carrier, or maybe a little adjustable bar to attach your car seat cover to so that baby is more protected from sun/wind/cold. But the regular seat does have a really nice large shade. Overall I would say this is a real winner - I posted to my social media pages and my mom friends who are done having babies were jealous that this only just came out! :). This car seat has some unique features compared to other infant car seats I have experience with. For instance, it has an inner and and outer shell and you can remove the inner shell with the baby inside for a more mobile car seat. This also makes the seat less heavy which is appreciated. There were also several ways the inner shell can be carried; over the shoulder or by two handles. Options are always nice! Both the over the shoulder strap and handles have decent stretch to them, making them easy to use, but are solid enough that they can not in any way touch the baby. I preferred the cross body carry as it allowed me to carry other things at the same time, such as the diaper bag. This was my favorite feature of the seat. I did struggle a bit to get used to releasing the inner shell from the outer shell, but once I got the hang of it it was pretty easy. The downside to using only the inner shell is there is no shade over the baby, as that part of the seat is attached to the outer shell. Overall the install was super easy and felt secure, especially with the anti-rotation stability leg which I have never seen before. I was able to install it independently without the help of my husband. Uninstalling it was really easy as well, making it easily transferable between vehicles. The seat itself seems super comfortable for baby and nice and secure around them. The downside is the weight limit is much lower compared to other seats we have used, limiting the amount of time you can use this seat. It is definitely geared towards younger and smaller babies. I was VERY fortunate to be able to test this car seat through the Stellar Parent Product Panel. The lightweight inner carrier with cross body strap is a total game changer! There is nothing else like it out there and to be able to carry my baby in the car seat using the cross body strap lets me go from car to house with both hands free to carry the million other things we inevitably alway have. The design of the cross body strap is great. It's stretchy so you don't have to worry about jerking the baby around when you put the strap over your head. The stretchiness also makes it really easy to bounce a fussy baby. The soft padded retractable handles are great bc it's a more natural position to hold compared to the tradition arch handle. However, I find myself using the cross body strap far more than the handles. The car seat also has fantastic extra little features that just really point to how well-designed it is. For example, the cross body strap has a little pull tab to easily adjust the length of the strap. This makes it much easier for me and my husband to switch using the car seat. I also like that the head pillow and body pillow can be easily removed without having to turn the car seat over. There are a few minor things that I didn't like. The main one is that the button to loosen the chest straps is too far from the edge of the car seat to be able to use my thumb. This makes it a little awkward to press. Also, while the inner carrier is certainly still comfortable for my baby, I did notice that it is not as roomy as our previous car seat. But this is a fair trade off for a lighter weight carrier. Overall, I really love the cross body strap and lightweight inner carrier. I probably wouldn't have been willing to pay the retail price for it as I consider this feature to be a luxury, but I am definitely glad I was able to get this through Stellar ! So if you are willing to pay for it, it is definitely a great car seat.

The removeable inner carrier component was awesome. It was so much lighter than carrier my baby in his old (very heavy) car seat. The padded handles were so easy to use and extremely comfotable. My son seems so much more comfotable in this seat than his old one. The first few times it is a little tricky to get the inner carrier in and out of the seat, but once you do it a few times, it's easy! So many people comment on how cool the carrier is when I bringing my baby anywhere and want to know everything about it! Overall a great seat and highly recommend I received this infant seat from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

I received this infant seat from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We had absolutely no trouble installing the car seat. It fit securely and took no time at all. we love the red/green indicator so I'm sure it secure. The Maxi Cosi Coral XP fits babies from 4lb to 22lb so we will be using it for quite some time. My baby is 5 lbs. so he just fit in there snuggly and cozy. The material is soft and padded well. He loves being in it and seems very comfortable. We absolutely love the removable inner carrier component! It's definitely our favorite feature of this car seat. It extremely lightweight and makes the "get baby in/out of the car" experience so much more enjoyable. Less than 12 lbs. with little one in is just amazing especially for us petite woman out here with not much upper body strength. Makes it easy for quick errands where a stroller isn't needed. My favorite way to carry it is the handle carry. The padded handles made carrying so much more comfortable. I just tug both handles onto my forearm (close to my elbow for more security) and my other hand is free. I know that might not be feasible when baby is bigger and heavier so I wish they had a way to join the handles together when in use for easier one hand carrying. We tried the cross-body carry but I didn't enjoy it very much, it was a bit uncomfortable for me. However, my husband enjoyed the cross-body carry very much. He said it gave him use of both hands while keeping baby close. It's very innovative and a good option to have. I wish the shade was built into the inner component so that we could cover baby while using it but a blanket will do. overall, we are enjoying this car seat immensely and will continue to us until baby is too big for it!

I had the wonderful opportunity to test out this car seat through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and I must say this is the best car seat I have ever used. I have had 8 kids so I have used many different car seats. This is the one! Seriously! I was expecting just a normal every day infant seat. This is more than that. Not only is it comfort and safety for your baby but for you as well. It has a nesting system of 3 parts that include the base, the outer carrier and then the inner carrier. I like that you can use with or without the base and it has the level line on the carrier so no issues making sure it is level. So if you have to move seats back and forth then this makes things easier for you. I like the base and how it goes to the floor giving it that extra support and to stay in a level place. If it doesn't work for your car it folds right up underneath the base. My favorite part of all is the inner carrier. With the squeeze of a handle with one hand you pull out the carrier with the other. The handles are padded as well. It is amazing and makes it so much lighter when you need to get and go from the car to the store. Gives you that little extra room in a buggy. It also has a cross-body strap that connects to it and it is extremely sturdy and safe, that allows you to carry your baby over you! I know when carrying my child it can get heavy and with this is help and gives me extra security that my child is safe and no one is going to run up and grab him and take off. The strap could use a bit of softer padding but it does great. Another amazing feature of this carrier is that it fits in a stroller but you have to have the inner carrier inside the outer carrier. Doesn't make it heavier for you just a bit safer for you little one as you push them. Last but certainly not least the padding for the seat is so soft and fits snug to your little one. My son looks so comfortable with no complains so far. I can't make up my mind on which way I love to carry him now lol.

I was in the market for a new carseat for my fourth baby, and was fortunate to receive the Maxi-Cosi Coral through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. It's great to see companies working towards innovations in this department, since carrying a baby in an infant seat has always been a pain point for me. While the Coral is beautiful (we got blue), well-made, and seems to be super safe, it still fell short for me on the convenience factor. The "nested" style seat may be perfect for those with smaller babies, or who frequently carry a carseat instead of pushing a stroller. However, as we almost always snap into a stroller for longer timespans, the new carry strap and handles had pretty limited use. Also, with a super tall baby (27 inches at his 4 month check up), this carseat has a limited lifespan as it only goes up to 29 inches, rather than the 32 inches I'm accustomed to. I also found that for snapping into a stroller I had to remove the whole seat anyways, which made it heavier than the car seat I had used in the past. On the benefits however, LATCH connection was easy, the base felt very solid and functional, the load leg made me feel extra secure. The fabrics are also beautiful.

This is the most innovative car seat I have ever seen! We are on our sixth baby in the last 8 years and have tried many different styles and brands and this is BY FAR the most user friendly and useful! We used the inner shell CONSTANTLY and just leave the whole bulky base and exterior shell in the car so it even takes up less space in the house when not in use! Both my husband and I love using the inner shell crossbody style to carry our littlest with us and it's comfortable and adjustable for both of us. It's like having a chest carrier and a car seat in one, without having to wake and re-strap a sleeping baby! There are many things we liked about this car seat and some things that we'd change. Changes/Updates I would make: 1) Put the button release for the handle in the middle of the handle (where you hand grabs) so you can move the handle out of the way/up/down with one hand release 2) A sun/germ shade on the inner shell carrier or shoulder strap! We ended up being able to suspend the shoulder strap over the baby and drape a blanket across it to shade him while he slept, but it would be great if there was a built in shade you could protect the baby from germs (when you're carrying him around cross body in stores, etc) and sun when outside. 3) Add the same contoured/curved handle as other Maxi Cosi models (Mico 30); it's less bulky in your hand, fits against your body better, and is more comfortable to carry Overall, this car seat is hands down my favorite and I wish I had it for all six of my babies! I feel that my preemie baby is safe both in the car and when using the seat outside the car. And it's like having three baby apparatuses in one: a car seat, an infant seat/rocker, and a chest carrier! I received this infant seat from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and it was like they read my mind! I recently told my mom and my husband how heavy our previous infant seat felt and how hard it was maneuvering our baby in & out of the car, especially for quick things. This is baby #2 so we are doing a lot more on-the-go based on big brother's schedule. The features of this seat and methods of carry are extremely helpful. Being able to easily remove the inner carrier for a quick errand was a great time & back saver! I really loved that I could lift the seat with the two retractable handles (although one con is that my daughter found handles early on - she's 21 weeks - and liked to hold onto them constantly). The retractable handles were my favorite innovation on the seat. I found it easiest to carry this way and it felt like a duh moment - all seats should have this. The shoulder strap carry was a nice change from the traditional carry when my arms felt too tired or I needed more of a hands free feel (be sure to keep one hand on the carrier for safety!). Initially I worried that the shoulder strap would not be secure enough for my comfort level to carry by the strap, but the latch system for installing the strap to the seat is very safe. I like the design/shape of the seat canopy and how it sits on the seat. It allows space between canopy and handle to carry the traditional way when canopy is open. Our previous seat did not have enough room to carry comfortably when canopy was open - one of my biggest frustrations! The straps were easy to tighten to the proper fit and the pads were good for comfort but didn't interfere with safety which I appreciated. My daughter looked very cozy in the seat and I liked how she seemed snug and content, it was a good over all fit for her (she's 15 lbs and 25" long at 21 weeks). I like the chic look. We have the graphite color and it's a nice neutral without being too bland. This is definitely an innovative product.

The instructions to install were extremely easy and I love the fact that the base is numbered for future installations. I love the option of being able to remove the inner carrier rather than taking the entire car seat in and out of my car. When I first starting using the car seat, the cross-body strap was amazing, as my baby got heavier I found I liked to use the inner carrier more often. I love the fact that this car seat's handle does not click loudly or jolt into place and never startled my baby. I did think the handle was a little uncomfortable if I chose to use that option on my arm, but I would just wrap a swaddle around the handle to make it more comfortable to carry. My baby always seemed comfortable, cozy, and safe, which is so important to me. Overall I really enjoy the many features of this car seat and absolutely recommend it!

I received this infant seat from the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest opinion on it, and wow! I was so excited when I saw the concept behind the modular seat. The lightweight inner carrier with flexible retractable straps and multiple carrying positions is just GENIUS. Why is this the first time anybody has designed a comfortable carry option? Regardless, I'm sure glad they did and I was one of the first to try it. I'll start with the things I love about the seat. First, it's stylish, the materials are high quality, and the padding seems to keep my 7 month old comfortable. Second, the straps are super easy to pull tight and loosen (why some seats are nearly impossible to adjust, I don't know but this one is great). Third, when the outer shell is snapped into the base in the car, the inner carrier is SO easy to connect. It literally drops in and clicks, without having to wrestle to get it just in the right spot. You can keep the cross body strap attached, and it all fits nicely together. I also like that once it is in, the large canopy on the outer shell will easily pull forward to shade baby while in the car. Finally (and most importantly), the ease and comfort of the handles and cross-body strap are seriously a game-changer! You gather the two retractable handles, and grip the release button to lift out of the shell/base. The cross-body strap works well over the shoulder or cross-body, and it is really lightweight and comfortable to wear hands-free! This is so helpful when you are carrying all of your baby stuff and have a toddler! I get so many questions and compliments carrying this seat, and it's no surprise. There are only a few very minor complaints I can make about this seat: one, the removable extra head cushion doesn't attach securely and flops down in the seat when you take your baby out. Two, the shoulder straps have to be re-threaded through the back of the seat. Three, it's a bit long for a compact car, but still fits ok.

As a mother of 5 my first impression when taking the car seat out of the box was "Wow! This is a really nice car seat!" The materials are very soft and high quality. In fact, my son was very comfortable in it. The most unique feature about this car seat is the removable lighter inner shell that can be carried with soft padded handles or a cross body strap. The cross body strap is elasticized so it is comfortable though it took me some time to get used to it. I mainly used the inner carrier when I brought my baby from the car to the house and vice versa. It is a great feature if you have to climb a lot of stairs or frequently run quick errands (e.g. dropping an older kid at school). However, I didn't like using only the inner shell in a stroller because it does not have a canopy. The canopy is on the outer shell only so on a sunny or windy day I had to take the entire car seat. My favorite feature of the car seat is the base. The base has color-coded numbered instructions for installation right on it so no more searching for the manual to install the base. The base also has tightness indicators that turn from red to green when the base is installed tightly enough. I love this feature because it was easy to know when the base was properly installed. In my opinion there are a few negatives of the car seat that outweigh the positives. First, without a canopy the uses of the inner shell are somewhat limited. Second, the base is long. It went 2-3 inches past the edge of the seat so it might not fit in smaller cars. Third, the outer and inner shell together is very heavy. Together they are much heavier than other car seats. Finally, the weight limit of the car seat is only 22lbs. Most other infant car seats can carry babies until 30 or 35lbs. Overall I think this is a high quality car seat that is very safe. The inner carrier is what makes this car seat stand out. So there is a base and a car seat like most infant car seats, but then there is an inner carrier that detaches from the car seat so it's much lighter to carry. Initially I thought the concept was a little gimmicky. I also had concerns about the safety and comfort of using a shoulder strap to carry a car seat. I was shocked at the weight of the inner carrier! It is so lightweight. I don't have a lot of upper body strength and my baby is in the 99th percentile for weight. Carrying a car seat was not an option for me until this carseat came up. The retractable handles are pure genius and the shoulder strap is well thought out and definitely feels very safe. I can drop off my toddler in school without having to unstrap my infant from his carseat. It is easy to detach the inner carrier and then use the cross body strap and have a free hand to walk my toddler. This is a game-changer. I will say installation isn't what I've been used to do and it was more complicated that I would have liked. And I also wish this was compatible with my stroller. Also, I wish the weight limit was higher. I receive this car seat to review from the stellar panel and these are my own thoughts and opinions.

I love this car seat! As the mother of seven I've used a few. With the different carrying options, I feel like this solves so many parent problems. It has a removable inner carrier that is super lightweight and can be worn with the cross-body strap, so you are nearly hands free, or you can use the retractable soft padded handles. It can also be carried like a traditional car seat. The cross-body carry was the feature I was most excited about, but in the end my favorite way to carry it is using the padded handles. The cross- body strap wasn't comfortable for me and hurt my neck and felt like it didn't fit my body well but it's my husband's favorite feature. The seat cover is extra plush, then you add the memory foam like removable body pad and head rest and it becomes a cozy little oasis. My daughter LOVES it! When she gets fussy at home I buckle her up and she gets calm almost immediately. The seat insert pads remove so easily without having to undo any of the harness and yet they stay put in the seat. I really appreciate the fact the cover wipes clean very well because my daughter is the spit up queen. And when that poo-splosion happens you can remove the whole thing and toss it in the wash. We love this car seat! I have to start this review off with just those few words. There are so many positive things to say about this seat & the brand in general. We love Maxi Cosi doing what it can to produce a non toxic car seat! Babies spend a decent amount of time in this seats (and even when they move onto convertible seats), so the non toxic factor is a huge selling point, and that alone can justify the price (which is very reasonable already). One of our favorite features was the removable inner carrier component! Like wow, are you kidding me? No other car seat is like this one! And then to add 2 ways to carry that component; the long, over the shoulder strap (very cushioned) and the two side handles. LOVE! My fiancé is a huge fan of this seat, possibly even bigger than myself! He loves convenience (don't we all?)... Installing the base was by far the easiest thing he's had to do in regards to car seats since our daughter was born 3 years ago, and then again, installing a new seat when our son was born in April. Not to mention, the anti-rotation stability leg connected to the base and the MaxiLock technology made us feel so much safer with this swift and effortless installation. I think my only piece of constructive criticism would be finding a way to connect the canopy to the inner shell vs the bucket that sits in! I found myself having to drape a Muslin swaddle over the carrier some days when the sun was out and shining bright. I do love how much coverage you get with the canopy though- much more than most other brands... Also, maybe have a wider selection of colors, or the option to mix and match! Would love that. Overall, my son really seemed to enjoy this car seat. The padding was nice and cushiony, and I really enjoyed not having to unthread and rethread the straps when I needed to remove the infant inserts! My husband and I sat down trying to entertain our 2 year old and 2 month old, nervous about figuring out how to put the car seat together. To my surprise, it was so easy. The manual as well as the helpful step by step photos on the car seat base, made everything easy. The carseat holds my 3 month old perfect comfortable. The carseat strap covers are a little large but I think she will grow into them nicely. I will say the straps came uneven. It was a simply fix that took no time. One of my favorite features is the multi way to hold the carrier. Although I didn't find myself using the cross body option much, I do like that it has that option. We have a smaller garage, so using the two straps option is nice to squeeze by the car into the house. The soft padded handles makes it softer while resting on my arm. I do wish I was able to put the shade of the carseat all the way forward if I needed to. But thats not a deal breaker. The shade is large. The color selection and design is sleek and very functional. I also love the lightweight inner carrier. It can be removed from the car seats outer shell. If you are debating on getting this infant car seat, I'd say it is a win. I hope my baby gets a lot of use out of it before we hit the weight limit!

The new Maxi Cosi Coral XP infant seat is innovative. The goal of any car seat is safety, and I felt that my infant was completely protected in this car seat. The next major goal of a car seat is comfort. My baby was extremely comfortable in this car seat. Many car seats offer padding and cushions, but this seat has done something that no other brand has done. They have provided mothers, like me, comfort and ease while carrying my baby. The inner carrier option with the soft padded handles is something that all car seats need to adopt. My family and I enjoy traveling and hiking. The removable inner carrier and padded handles helped so much. It was lightweight and put no extra strain on my arms, shoulders, or back. It also helped leave one hand available for holding my toddler's hand. This model came with a cross-body strap. It offers extra support and makes carrying the car seat even easier, but I would not recommend using the cross-body strap alone. It seemed like it could have easily slid off of my shoulder. I was pleasantly surprised, however, by how durable the shoulder strap was. I was expecting a strap similar to a duffel bag. It is a thick, bungee-like strap with a shoulder pad that has metal holes that securely hooks onto the inner carrier. The car seat base has an extendable leg. I have had other car seat bases installed in the past, and they always seem to shift a bit. The leg helps to solve that issue. It made the base fit much more snugly in our Toyota Sienna. This car seat might be an even better option for active moms like me if it was part of a travel system. Having a stroller that is made to fit this car seat into it would be extremely beneficial. I am so incredibly in love with this car seat I would take it on a date! This is genius! Your baby falls asleep, you want to take her out in the carseat but is either too heavy/bulky or you need the stroller base to move it... not with this one! It comes in 3 parts, so you can leave the middle base (that connects the car base to the inner carrier), and just grab the top part by super comfortable handles and/or use a strap on your shoulders! This way is super light, and comfortable, making it my babie's new favorite place to sleep (besides on top on mama). On top of that has a great size for an infant carseat, allowing more air so that baby is not burning inside, and the proof is in my baby not coming out sweating like before and actually falling asleep super fast in it! To be honest, I even cooked the other day with the strap on and helping baby fall asleep. On top of that, materials are great, no added retardants as the fabric naturally does it, and the base has an extra leg that makes it super secure. The downside: the canopy stays in the second base so you can't use while carrying, plus it gets off easy. I received this product to test as part of Stellar Product Testing Panel and I can't recommend it enough!!!!

With my firstborn child I opted to use a heavy, more stationary carseat that was bulky and hard to get in and out of my car and compensated by baby wearing almost exclusively to avoid having to mess with the old carseat. The unique 3-piece nesting system means I can grab the baby one handed by the carry handles or sling her cross-body with the strap and still keep a hold on my active toddler. No more fumbling to get the baby out and in a sling while my older child loses his patience (he's almost 3, so that's about how many seconds he will wait), we can all hop in and out of the car with ease. Pros: Sleek design, lightweight, nifty concept and ingenious for people who want baby close but aren't into baby wearing Cons: Relatively low height/weight limit. 29" and 22lbs is creeping up pretty fast on me with a 17lb, 28" tall 6 month old, so I will have to find a different seat for her in the next few months. Also, no sun shade in the inner carrier.

I pulled the base out of the box and got ready to use all the manpower around to install it and boy was I wrong! Not only did I not need my husbands manpower, but I installed this baby all by myself! The quick start instructions are easy to follow, but look out because the instructions are on the base! Each step is clearly indicated and super easy to understand and follow. I absolutely LOVE this feature. The next thing I love is that there are indicators on the base telling you if the belt is tight enough. This is awesome! ( you can also use the tethers, but the seat I used didn't have them) The canopy has good coverage from the sun but I didn't like the color and how it didnt match the inside of the seat. (I have the red option) The next feature I LOVE is the fact that the inner seat comes out of the rest of the seat for easy and lightweight carrying! I've never seen this feature before and it is amazing. It is so convenient, especially when baby starts getting heavy! You can also attach a cross body strap to this inner seat. I was not a huge fan of this but do think it's an amazing feature. My daughter looked super comfy in this seat. She's 5 months, so I took out the newborn insert which comes with the seat. As a mother of a new baby boy who is only 5 weeks old, we have been loving this Maxi Cosi infant seat. The worst part about infant car seats are always how heavy they are. And as baby gets bigger, it gets harder to carry. Though my newborn is not in daycare yet, I did find carrying the infant seat into daycare everyday a major annoyance due to weight with my first child. I'm so excited about this seat, since you can really easily pop the inside out to carry. The shoulder strap is so well made and stretchy! It's surprisingly very comfortable to wear cross body, East to clip on and off, and sturdy and stable. I worried it may too over when using like this, but it doesn't at all! The side handle are great too, all the carrying features are so helpful and unique to this car seat, and definitely my favorite part about it. The materials are so soft and plush, my little boy looks super cozy in the seat. The infant inserts seem easy to remove so when we are ready, he will also be able to comfortably enjoy the seat when he's a bit bigger. Overall the car seat is very easy to use! the base was easy to install, the seat pops out and into the base easily, and the inner seat pops out and into the seat easily too. The straps are easy to adjust, and seem to fit well, safe and snug to my baby. Finally, not only is the seat nice looking, comfortable, lightweight and easy to use, it's a very well made seat with safety features that make a parent feel more at ease. I highly recommend this seat to anyone who is reading this and considering this as your infant seat. I know it's a hard decision to make with all the options on the market. This is definitely a unique seat and you won't find anything as light to carry on the market as this one. I received this car seat as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my review. Overall, I think it's a high quality car seat with lots of great features. I loved that the inner carrier component is so lightweight and allows me to carry my baby into and out of daycare much easier than in other heavier infant seats I've used. I did find it somewhat hard to get the inner carrier to separate but I imagine it will get easier with more practice. The crossbody strap seemed a bit awkward at first, but being a smaller woman it was great to redistribute some of my baby's weight and make carrying him a breeze once I got used to it. My baby seemed very comfortable in the seat and slept like a dream for several hours on some long drives we had. My only complaint is the weight limit is much lower than our previous infant seat so he will outgrow it much sooner than I'd like. He's 19 lbs at 7 months and the weight limit is only 22 lbs so it may not be the best car seat for those with big babies. The smaller size is nice for small cars however. It was able to easily fit behind the driver seat in a Corolla. Overall, I would definitely recommend this car seat and felt very confident that my child was both comfortable and safe in it!

First and foremost, I love maxi Cosi. I have used this brand for all three of my kids. The car seats are all extremely comfortable for them and last through spills and spit up. I revived this car seat through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and could not wait to try it. As a mom to three small kids, the cross body option was a life saver! I easily clipped the car seat out and went about my day. The reason for the 4 stars is, I wish that Maxi Cosi would Make a car seat that could fit three across in an SUV. This car seat was somewhat bulky. I also wish the weight limit was a bit more than 22lbs but I realize that is pretty standard. I have bigger babies. Other than that, everything was great! My son loves it and I loved how convenient it was. I would love to try the adapter for the stroller next!

I absolutely LOVE the Coral XP, thank you so much to the Steller Product testing panel for introducing me to an excellent seat! Right from the box, it was easy to setup, with clear "quick start" instructions. Installing the base with the ratcheting system was a dream - didn't even break a sweat, for once! Loved the color indicators for prop installation and the stickers on the base explaining installation step by step. The carrier has 2 parts - the standard infant seat complete with (large) canopy that does NOT rub against the carry handle (great feature so the canopy can shade baby without crushing your arm against the carry handle. Then, there's the removable carrier insert. What a genius idea! Easy to remove and reinstall via a release lever that only engages when the carry handles are pulled tight, the carrier is lightweight and I love how baby seems to recline more comfortably than other "bucket" seats that seem to cramp them up. Carrier fabric feels smooth and breathable, and included pads over the straps are extremely soft. The carrier also features an optional cross body handle for keeping baby in carrier but close by - found this to be immensely helpful in places like the pediatricians office. No need to set baby and carrier down, you can just use the strap and have a free hand. Strap is adjustable and has a padded area for your neck or shoulder - found it extremely convenient for things like being caught in the rain - I had a free hand to hold the umbrella. Overall, I absolutely love this seat, and the only improvements I would suggest would be something that holds the straps o to of the way when putting baby in, and an easier to access button to lengthen the harness.

This innovative seat is stylish and comfortable for my newborn, and the removable inner panel is so convenient. The lightweight inner panel makes getting the seat in and out of the car so much easier than with a traditional infant carrier. The soft padded handle is comfortable and makes getting baby to and fro the car a breeze. Installing the base in my SUV using the LATCH system took some trial and error, but once we were able to get it right enough I ell in love with this seat.

My favorite feature on the Maxi Cosi Coral XP infant seat is its removable inner carrier. It offers lightweight versatility and convenience for the traveling or on-the-go lifestyle: quick pit stops to pick up coffee or stop by a friend's house for a quick chat. It will be great to use as carry through airport terminals and use as a care seat on the plane for infants. The fabric is soft, baby seems comfortable and fit in it well. It also come with added removable padding that can be used for smaller or premie infants. I was able to use both the handles and cross body strap. As a parent to a toddler and infant, the seat is still light enough to hold with just 1 hand and I can hold my toddler's hand with the other. If I need to be more hands-free, the cross-body strap can be used. That strap is a soft, stretchy material that offers good buoyancy; it's a high quality strap. Personally, I did not feel completely safe being hands free for too long, fearing the strap would disconnect at either anchor/hook (this did not happen). However, I prefer to use the handles. It is nice to have options! My only complaint is the when the innermost layer is set on the ground, it see-saws too much. With the infant in the seat it felt as if sometimes it could rock too far back and flip over. The instructions and manual are clear and concise with pictures. Despite having multiple components, the base installation is no more difficult than other standard LATCH system car seats. Overall, it is the perfect lightweight, removable car seat that does not compromise safety, ease of use and comfort. It can accommodate my baby at least to a year old. The inner carrier inside of the outer shell is a little heavier than I expected, but is probably pretty similar to a standard car seat. My daughter is 6 months old and sits comfortably in the seat. This is a great evolution for the infant carseat! We recieved this carseat as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The different ways to carry made it so much more functional and easy to use compared to other infant carseats. We loved the crossbody carry ability and the straps and the soft padded handles that allow you to easily hold the carseat in your hand instead of trying to sling it over your arm. Our little guy was very comfortable it in and now really enjoys riding in the car! He is also pretty big for a 3 month old (18 pounds!) and the seat was still easy to tote around.

Wow! I am so impressed with the versatility of the Maxi Cosi Coral XP infant seat! I absolutely love the removable carrier! It is a huge lifesaver for us c-section mamas and mamas with big babies!! The Maxi Cosi Coral XP infant seat is stylish, easy to use and install, with added bonus features! It is not just an infant seat; it can convert into a lightweight carrier. The carrier can be used with the cross-body strap or handle carry. And of course, you can also carry the standard way with the entire seat which can click into a stroller as well. This seat is very versatile which I love! The first thing I noticed was how easy it was to install! I genuinely appreciate it when companies make installation of a baby safety item easy because there is less chance of the customer messing it up. The instructions are included directly on the base in case you are without your instruction manual. I originally made the mistake of thinking I did not receive an instruction manual but in fact it was tucked underneath the infant insert of the seat. I double checked my installation against the manual and was happy to see that following the directions on the base achieved a safe and secure installation into my vehicle. This base made latch installation a cinch! You basically level out your seat, which is made super easy with an adjustable height support and level indicator, lock the latch lever in place, and push down to tighten until you see green indicators to let you know it's snug. This base also includes a support leg that extends to the floor and locks in place. Installation of the base took less than 5 minutes and felt nice and snug. With the easy to read instructions and green indicators, I feel confident that I have a safe and secure installation. As for the infant seat itself, it is made with high quality materials, making for a stylist, safe and comfortable ride for my baby. The weight of the seat is not too bad but if you do not want to lug around the either seat, you can easily pop out the inner lightweight carrier and carry it with the handles or the cross-body strap. My baby is so comfy in this car seat! He loves it and lately he's all about playing with the carry handles when on the go which is great cause it's like a built in toy. He rode in here like a champ on a six hour car ride to visit his cousin! My husband and I are also very fond of the 3 piece design! The installation instructions for the base are so clear and have red/green indicators to help you feel confident in the proper installation. I've used the cross body carry option with the light inner carrier on several occasions when I just want to run a quick errand, but don't want to take out the full stroller and it's a way more ergonomic and comfortable carrying option than the standard handle. Great for doctor's office visits or to quickly run into a restaurant to pick up takeout. This cross body carry option is so unique- I haven't seen any other car seats on the market with this. The soft carry handles in the inner piece also make it much easier to remove the car seat from the backseat from the side of the car. The outer carrier does have a great built in shade, but kinda wish the shade was also on the inner carrier but guess it's a weight trade off they had to make. If it's sunny out, I've just used a light swaddle blanket over him when using the shoulder carry. I feel like it is slightly wider than other seats that he's used which is awesome since he is a big boy (almost 19lbs at 6 months!) I am sad that the max weight capacity is 22lbs and he'll need to transition to a larger seat soon- but definitely going to look into another Maxi Cosi product! This new infant seat from Maxi Cosi is very innovative in its design. It has a removable insert for carrying that is much lighter and versatile than other infant seats. I liked that I could easily carry it with one hand using the handles. I also found the cross body strap useful in situations where I needed my hands free, though to be honest I put the seat in the stroller most of the time since I like to use the cargo basket. Thankfully it was compatible with my stroller using an adapter. My son seems to be comfortable in the seat too, the fabric is very soft with lots of padding. It's worth noting, though, that at 7 months, my son is almost over the weight limit for this seat (He weighs 19 pounds and the limit is 22 pounds), so we will be transitioning to a convertible seat soon. The seat has a ton of great features! I love the amount of padding in it; my 6lb, 19" newborn fit great; better than she seemed to in a different infant carrier we had. The inner carrier is incredibly lightweight and makes toting it around SO much easier! I didn't think I would like the shoulder strap, but I used it constantly! I did miss having a firm handlebar to hold at times, and the whole carrier is extremely heavy. Installation was incredibly easy, but the seat took up a ton of room front-to-back; we had to push the passenger car seat up to get it to fit. The umbrella canopy is only able to be used with the full carrier, so There's nothing when just using the inner carrier which was frustrating on very bright days. The Maxi Cosi coral xp is an outstanding car seat. Very uniquely engineered and designed for a parent like me in mind. Let me start by saying how easy it is to install. The base for the car seat comes with quick latch system and has a visible indicator to make sure the installation is plumb. It has a retractable leg as well for additional support and stability. It was very quick to install and easy to align the car seat with the base on the fly. Disconnecting the base from the car seat is also very easy, like traditional car seats with one handle lift in back. The car seat itself - came in a unique coral color. The only downside I would say is that the color of the canopy (lighter) is different in hue than the actual car seat fabric (darker). The inner carrier component is very nicely designed. Simple to disconnect from the car seat itself and carry using either the over the shoulder strap or the looped handles. The handles are very convenient to lift the seat out of the car seat without having to disconnect the entire seat from the base and take with me when I'm doing a quick errand or eating at a restaurant. My husband also loves the soft padded handles as it's easier for him to carry then the over the shoulder (1 hand operation). For me, the over the shoulder is definitely convenient, useful, and frees up my hands. I also appreciated the fact that it's very lightweight and much simpler to carry then the bulkier traditional version. My husband appreciated how it's not as wide as most other car seats leaving a bit more space in back seat. My little boy was very comfortable in it. I must say he is a bit bigger than most kids, so it was a very 'cozy' fit for him; being 3 months old however it's perfect for him as he likes to be snug. The wow factor of this seat comes from the removable inner shell and the shoulder strap. It truly is a game changer especially if you have another kid to keep track of. The inner shell is significantly lighter than the full bucket seat which is helpful when you have a 12 lb baby inside. The inner shell does have a solid footprint so you can still set it on the ground if you need to. The smaller size of the inner shell is also helpful when you have to stick the car seat in a shopping cart and want some room left for groceries. The inner shell is easy to remove with a one hand release while lifting up the side straps. I use the side straps to carry the seat most often. The shoulder strap is sturdy and has a little bounce to it so it's comfortable to wear and feels secure on your shoulder. It gives you more freedom if you do need to use both hands while you are holding it. The shoulder strap attaches easily and securely at each end of the inner shell. The downside to the inner shell is that there is no canopy because that attaches to the outer shell. So if you are carrying your baby around outside in bright sun, wind or rain, you don't have the option for any cover nor could you use one of those car seat covers because there is no handle on the inner shell. In addition, in the world of Covid, your infant is much more exposed if you're out in public. The option to carry the full seat like any other traditional car seat is there though if you want to carry it the standard way but it is much heavier. Overall, this seat offers an innovative option for parents on the go. It's comfortable for baby and comfortable to carry. It feels sturdy and well-made. Installation is a breeze. The aesthetic is sleek and modern with clean lines. The straps adjust easily without twisting, the double buckle is easy to buckle and release, and the tightening lever releases easily. I wasn't really looking for a new infant car seat for my second child, but this infant seat provided by the Stellar Product Testing Panel is now our main infant seat. Two features make this car seat easier to use than any other infant car seat I have used. First, it has a traditional car seat setup but there is a lightweight removable inner carrier. Every mom pal I've shown this inner carrier to remarks about how much lighter it is, which is a big deal when you are newly postpartum, lugging other gear, or trying to keep up with other kids. The soft padded handles make it easy to carry by hand or on your arm. The straps are so much more ergonomic than a traditional infant seat. The system also comes with a cross body shoulder strap for another comfy carrying option but I never really needed to use it. The shoulder strap was comfortable and easy to attach but I found that I just didn't reach for that option when it was so easy to just grab the handles and go.

This was my favorite part of this whole unit! This transforms your car seat into a carrier that allows your hands to be free. I was worried the carrier would not be comfortable or that this type of carry would be awkward, but it was a natural hold that was very easy to carry on my shoulders. The strap was thick and never rode up or folded over, and the shoulder pad was very comfortable. Felt almost like I was wearing a cross body tote bag, and it was just as easy to do! Plus it was amazing to have baby at chest level so I could keep an eye on her and give her kisses whenever I could. 3. Car seat carry- Using the carrier with the outer shell as a normal car seat carry was also very comfortable. 4. Stroller- Snapped into our existing stroller (with an adapter that we already owned) with ease. The Cross-Body Carry makes this car seat worth it for me, plus my baby is comfortable and safe. I didn't know how convenient it is to have a cross body strap on a car seat until I tried this out. Being able to have my baby close and still have the ability to hold the hands of my other two kids has been priceless! The inner carry easily separates from the outer shell and keeps baby close when I need to run into a store and don't want to use a cart or wrestle with a stroller.
