My new go-to stroller that will grow with us!!
April 8, 2021
I received my Pace 2.0 Stroller as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and it's safe to say I'm smitten with it! Straight out of the box I was impressed with its sleek design, versatile fabric, and excellent storage space!
Structurally, this stroller is sound, sturdy, and secure. It has big, smooth wheels that can handle a variety of surfaces (and proved successful at them). The tires are hard plastic so you don't have to worry about them going flat or needing filled with air. There is an option to secure the front wheels in place or to swivel which makes uneven terrain easy to navigate. The frame is solid without being bulky and the wheel brakes were very secure and easy to engage. The ride is smooth and the stroller enjoyable to push. It does not feel cumbersome, it turns easily, and it's not heavy.
I feel like the Pace 2.0 stroller is well designed to grow with a child. It can accomodate a snap-in car seat for infants. The seat has options to recline or sit upright, and it's very simple to move between the levels. There is a five-point harness but it also has the option to be used as a 3 point harness as the child grows. The straps are simple to adjust and the shoulder strap protectors are made of very soft fabric. The snack track secures into place and is easy to reach by the child, but it doesn't sit too close to their body. This is hugely helpful as it allows adequate space putting a child in and out, but also room for them to grow and not feel squished. My daughter loved being able to reach her own snack and drink!
The fabric is cool and the material will wipe off easily, making snacking on the go even better. I love the large sun canopy and how much coverage it provides. It is very sturdy and there is a flap to open on the canopy that can provide vision, light, and air.
Two of the best features of the Pace 2.0, though, are the ease of set up/fold up and the storage! This stroller truly is a one-handed stroller. Of course, having just a bar (as opposed to handles) allows you to navigate with one hand if need be, but the ability to open it and fold it up with a single hand is invaluable to busy parents! The button/twist component ensures that the stroller cannot just fold up on it's own, but both steps are simple and smooth. I was so impressed that there was no catch or hiccup. I loved that once the stroller folded up, the security latch attached itself-I didn't have to hook it. That makes folding it up quick but also secure. Opening the stroller was just as easy. The security latch comes off simply, then when standing the stroller up it audibly clicks into place and is ready to roll. I'm thrilled with how easily and quickly I can go from trunk to truckin', not to mention the nice and thin size when folded up. I love that when it is folded up, it stands up securely- I don't have to worry about finding something to lean it on.
My other favorite part of this stroller is the large storage basket underneath! I had a full sized (filled) backpack and it slid into the basket with no problem! I wasn't folding, crunching, or punching to get it in. Infact, I still had more room to put coats, a small purse, etc.. The basket sits far enough below the seat that's easy to access its contents but you don't kick it while walking. In addition to the storage basket, there is an adult cup holder tray that has space for 2 drinks and small accessories (phone, keys, coins, etc.).
Having used the Pace 2.0 a good bit there are a few, very minor, things that I would adjust. The canopy flap has no way to secure it, either open or closed. So if the wind blows it may change position. The shoulder strap pads slide off very easily (they are not secured to the straps) which makes them easy to lose. This is very minor, but I appreciate having them so have to be diligent to make sure they are there. When there is a beverage in the adult tray, there is very little room for the push-er's hands. When we have drinks in there, your knuckles bump into the drink. Finally, when the stroller is folded up, the snack tray can still flip down so you want to be careful not to drag it or get the tray caught. These few things are extremely small and, by no means, negate the excellent quality and intuition of this stroller.
I am thrilled to have received it from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and am confident we will use it for years and years as our children grow! It has already become my go-to for the car, sidewalks, and otherwise.
