Good Travel System, could use a few improvements.
August 1, 2016
I received this travel system as a gift from the weeSpring Parent Panel, and while I do love this stroller, there are some areas where there could be some improvement. Here are my pros and cons on this travel system:
Pros:
I love how the stroller looks, the denim look is great and very appealing.
I received the blue slate one, which is very gender neutral.
It looks similar to higher end strollers with the skateboard, the handles, and the curves of the stroller.
The price for this stroller is great!
The stroller moves very smoothly and is easy to navigate.
It's easy to put together. I took it out of the box and assembled it in five minutes with a toddler and a newborn around.
The car seat sits more upright than the other car seat I have, which I love. It is also more padded around the head, which provides more head support.
The sun cover is large and effectively covers the baby from the sun.
The car seat base is easy to install into the car.
The car seat handle has different stopping points, instead of just up and down, it can stop in multiple places.
The skateboard is easy to put up an down while my toddler is not riding on it.
The storage space underneath the stroller is great. It is large enough to fit a diaper bag, blanket, and much more!
The stroller unfolds and folds very easily and is slim when folded up.
The car seat is very light weight! It's very easy to carry with a baby in it.
Cons:
The sun cover should have a part you can see through to look at baby without having to pull the cover back. My other stroller has a velcro flap that you can pull back and see the baby. This flap does not expose baby to the sun, but makes it easier to check on her. This would be a great addition to this stroller.
The skateboard is a great idea, my toddler (3) was so excited about this feature; however, I think it could have been executed much better. While standing on the skateboard, he has to hold onto the parent handles, which means he cannot stand up straight, but has to lean. He could only last about 10 minutes on the skateboard before complaining of his forearms hurting from holding himself up. Maybe adding some handles lower down that a toddler could hang on to...I'm not 100% sure on how this problem could be fixed. The skateboard also comes out kind of far. Thankfully I am short so my feet down bang into it, but my husband's feet hit the stroller while he is walking.
There needs to be more cupholders. This is very frustrating for constant coffee drinkers! We used the stroller for a beach weekend vacation and were very frustrated with the lack of cup holders. If one of us was pushing the stroller with the infant, the other parent was holding the toddler's hand/ carrying him/ or running after him. With only one cupholder, this was very difficult because we were juggling coffee cups, the toddler's cup, and a baby bottle. We tried to change things up by having one of us use a carrier for the infant and push the toddler in the stroller, and had the same problem: the toddler had no place to put his drink, and my husband and I could not both have a coffee because there was only one cupholder. There should be two cupholders for the parents and another tray with a cupholder for the child sitting in the stroller.
I am so glad to have received this stroller and I really do like it, I think these improvements could help make it a much better product.
