Good Seat
March 5, 2012
Loved this seat when we opend it out of the box and so did my daughter, she sat in it in the living room a couple days before we got it installed. When I first went to install it I was not very sure that I had it installed correctly bc I felt that it moved around too much and I had to use a towel underneath the base. (My daughter is 16months old but barely weighs 20lbs so she is still in the rear facing position) I took it to have it inspected at the local police station and they said the movement it had was normal and actually needed in the rear facing position. I drive a 2009 toyota corrola and it fits fine in the middle rear facing but if we needed to move it to one of the side seats it would be uncomfortable for the person sitting up front. It appears very sturdy and of good quality and I feel that my daughter is safe it now that I know the movement we have is normal.
Pros
  • Good Quality
  • Daughter appears to be comfortable in it
Cons
  • Wish that it could also offer a manual adjusting strap in case you feel it is not tight enough.

Great Seat for the Price
February 26, 2012
We bought this car seat because it was a Consumer Reports Best Buy and was considerably less expensive than similar seats by Britax. It feels very secure in our car and overall we really like it. Our one-year-old is also much happier in it than in her infant seat. The only thing we don't like about it is that the straps can sometimes be difficult to loosen and it takes a bit of effort to tighten them when our daughter is in the seat compared to her Chicco infant carrier (which was a breeze to use). Overall though, the value and safety rating can't be beat and I would make the same choice again!
Pros
  • Price for the safety rating
Cons
  • Straps can be difficult to loosen and tighten

Grandmom is happy!
February 15, 2012
I purchased this car seat for transporting my 17 month old granddaughter. I was very pleased with the prompt shipping. The only adjustments I needed to make were to the five point harness to assure a secure fit and place it in the rear facing reclining position. The SureLATCH system is so easy to use and secures the seat in place quickly.
Pros
  • The five point harness
  • Good aount of padding
  • Ease of installation
Cons
  • The rear seat of my compact SUV is higher than the seat in a sedan. It is difficult to see out of the passenger side rear window when the car seat is in place.

safe but really large
January 30, 2012
We got this seat mostly because it was highly rated at consumerreports.com. It has done much better in crash tests than others in the same category. The seat is very comfortable and roomy which is great for a larger or older child. Not so much for an infant however. I wish there was another reclining position when rear-facing. It is too upright for a newborn. Even for my one year old it seems a bit too upright if she falls asleep - her head rolls forward onto her chest. Another negative is how bulky this seat is. It is very wide. I understand that with higher weight capacity these seats a made to fit an older child but compared to other similar seats I have seen this one is definitely too wide. It completely blocks the view for the driver from that side of the car where the seat is installed. Ever since we got this seat we cannot use our baby view mirror which we successfully used before with a regular car seat. All in all, this is not a bad buy, especially for the money you pay for this one.
Pros
  • - external harness adjustment
  • - high weight capacity (up to 65 lbs)
  • - easy to install
  • - easy to remove seat cover (for cleaning purposes)
Cons
  • - bulky, too wide on the sides - blocks the rear/side view for the driver
  • - does not recline far enough in rear-facing position - uncomfortable for infants

a safe monster

I feel quite sure that my grandchild will be safe in this car seat for years to come. It is massive, deeply padded, and anchored securely. Right now, the seat is rear-facing and it is VERY difficult to attach to the anchors in my car. Once attached, however, it is there to stay! It is very easy to secure the baby in the car seat and she enjoys riding in the soft seat. Due to the size of the car seat, it has to be placed in the center of the rear seat and is difficult to see around, when backing up. This may not be such a big issue, when it can be turned to the front and anchored on one of the rear side seats. Right now only the baby and one other person can sit in the back. I hope that the third person will fit, when it is front-facing. The belts for securing the baby are VERY easy to use and adjust.
Pros
  • securely hooks into anchors
  • soft padding
  • washable
  • easy belts to secure baby
Cons
  • very large to move in and out
  • difficult to push onto anchors
  • takes up 1 and 1/2 seats in back
  • causes large blind spot, when backing up

Evenflo Convetible Car Seat
December 24, 2011
I bought this carseat as a gift for my grand-daughter. Mon son and his wife had chosen this particular one due to the excellent reviews and ease of installation. They were not disappointed. One of the best features is the "surelatch" which locks the car seat securely, eliminating any wobbling which is prevalent in most belted type seats. Another advantage is that the baby will not outgrow this car seat as it should fit her until she transitions to a booster seat.
Pros
  • Excellent value for the price.
Cons
  • It would be nice if there were more color options for this model. It is a pretty plain gray design.

Big!
December 7, 2011
I brought my 9lb baby boy home from the hospital in this Evenflo convertible car seat. Even though he was a large baby, he felt lost in the seat. Now 6 weeks later at 14 lb, he fits okay in here. I still feel like I have a hard time positioning him in here so that he is comfy. I am sure from previous experience that it will get better the larger he gets. It is pretty easy to install, the hardest part is getting enough pressure in the seat to limit the movement. I had to prop mine up with a rolled up towel to get a proper incline in the backseat. The seat has to be behind a smaller passenger or driver in my 2011 Nissan Rogue, because rear facing this seat it so LARGE! I love how easily adjustable the straps are, very convenient compared to a Graco Infant Carrier. I have not used the cup holder, but is the same as my daughters old Evenflo Triumph and that was garbage. Don't plan on using it. For sh*ts and giggles, I put my 6 yr old daughter who is 62lb and 45 inches (I make 'em short and round!) and there is no way she would fit. I knew this before buying and only plan on using this seat for 3 to 4 years.
Cons
  • Not for small infant use

my little one is six months and outgrew her infant car seat. i was looking for a comfortable car seat that was convertible and easy to install. can't believe i found one for such a good price. it's a bit bulky but my car has a large back seat so it fits easy. i love how i can either use the SureLatch or my cars seat belt to fasten it in the car.
Pros
  • comfortable, convertible, roomy, easy to install
