Great, sturdy seat at a good price
April 3, 2015
Picked up this car seat on sale at Albee Baby and it is terrific, particularly in a small car (Prius) and forward facing. It is quite heavy so not great if you are planning to move it around, but otherwise, five stars!
Pros
  • Narrow frame, long use
Best Uses
  • Fitting multiple car seats in a small car
Cons
  • Heavy

Comfy car seat. Low seat so might not be ideal if your child likes to be at window level. Love the folding ability.

Was able to put next to Britax b safe in back of Honda accord. Just enough recline when older toddler has fallen asleep, seems to be comfortable and enjoys sitting in it.

Best car seat ever
March 30, 2015
After so much research I decided to buy this car seat for my daughter, and worth every penny. It is comfortable and secure, kind of heavy but it is due to the steel frame.
Cons
  • It should come with the angle and you must buy it if you have a small car.

This is the second one we bought in the past six months. Now we have one in each car. It is a bit heavy but it has a steel frame! It is well made.
Pros
  • Heavy duty. Safe.
Best Uses
  • Forward facing and then booster.
Cons
  • Heavy and rear facing takes up a lot of front seat leg room. They do sell a pad that helps save some space.

Best carseat I have ever owned
March 25, 2015
I love this car seat. It is so safe and so easy to use. It is slightly heavier than other car seats but I know it is made well and what is made with is going to protect my children. It is not hard to install and once it is in, it is not going anywhere. My kids love how comfortable the seat is and how easy it is for them to get in and out of it. They don't sit way up high off the seat like some other car seats are. My kids love being able to see out the window and be able to reach cup holders and things on the seat when they are in this seat.
Pros
  • Safe
  • Reliable
  • Easy to install
  • Convertible for all ages

great carseat
February 20, 2015
Nice and compact with still being sturdy and safe. The only con I have is the strap and buckle between my daughters legs on the 5 point harness, seems a bit short and makes it difficult to buckle when she has winter layers and a coat on. Otherwise very happy with this carseat.

Great compact car seat
January 2, 2015
This car seat is very compact. I've only used it for front facing, and it doesn't occupy too much space as my other car seat. The child also seats more upfront than the other car seat, which is more comfortable when the child is awake, but less so when he tries to sleep while sitting.

Very happy with this car seat, now own two!
December 17, 2014
We have had this one for two years now and have recently bought another exactly like it for our next little one. We've been very pleased with it's performance, style, comfort, and ease getting it in and out of the car. And it cleans easily, which is great! It is heavy, but that's due to it's steel construction which makes me confident in its durability and safety. It's so versatile, it's the only car seat you'll ever need. The only con is that the seat back is very straight up, so when my son falls asleep, his head often bobbles forward and doesn't stay back in the seat.

Best car seat for the middle seat!
December 10, 2014
We could not live without this as the center car seat in our Tucson. We tried several car seats before we settled on this model and I cannot imagine using anything else. The slim frame and low profile make for an ideal center seat in a three across scenario. This seat was worth every penny and I would buy it over and over again!

Sturdy safe seat.
November 28, 2014
Sturdy seat. I like the fact that it is metal and has a longer shelf life than most car seats. I also like the fact that you can fit people next to the car seat unlike the Graco My Ride 65 that we have.
Pros
  • Can fit 3 to a row.
Cons
  • At times difficult to adjust straps to tighten.

Best Carseat- well worth the price!
October 12, 2014
When looking for a convertible car seat, we wanted one that would be comfortable, allow us to rear face for as long as we wanted, and fit a tall child. This car seat far exceeded our expectations. In addition, I love that it is narrow enough to fit in the middle seat, so we can easily accommodate 2 children in the back seat and still have some space back there. Because of the lower sides, my 18 month old can almost crawl in by herself, and it is much easier than our prior convertible car seat to get her into. This was the first item I ordered from Albee Baby, and I was very satisfied with the service. It shipped quickly and we received it quickly. I was very impressed. All in all it was a great experience and a fantastic product. Would definitely recommend!

awesome for extended rear facing
September 22, 2014
Many people may not know, but it is recommended to seat your child rear facing as long as possible. The additional safety is astounding, and every parent should watch crash testing videos for car seats. It will make you think twice about turning your kids before four! That said, this is one of the only seats I found with such a high weight/height allowance for rear facing. It's also extremely sturdy and well made; I've been very impressed with the quality of the materials, etc. Additionally, it is one of the slimmest seats available and it's supposed to accommodate all ages. We haven't used it for an infant as we used a Graco snug ride 35 bucket seat (also highly recommend). Because it accommodates older children it is quite tall; this means a lot of real estate behind your front seats gets eaten up. I recommend the foam angle adjuster from diono to minimize this. We've had this behind the driver's side of a town and country minivan, which had more than ample room left up front. It's currently behind the driver's seat of an elantra touring (a compact hatch back) and I admit I'm short and my husband is 5'8" and there is *just* enough room for him. I would say that's the only downside. The seat is extremely easy to install and adjust and well worth the expense.

Top tier and worth it
July 10, 2014
We initially bought the recaro convertible seat when our little one outgrew her bucket seat because it was race car-safe. However, our taller-than-average 1 year old's head hit the ceiling of our 2006 honda CRV half the time we put her in. We are keeping her rear facing until at least 2, so this was not sustainable. We decided to move the recaro to my wife's fit (which didn't have a seat, but needed one because of increased schedule demands) We looked and looked at a wide variety of options-cheaper entry level convertible seats, all 3-in-1's an decided the diono radian was the best long term investment. We are planning on a 2nd so it can fit next to a 2nd seat, it has the head-side-impact wings, and (praise be) we can put our child rear facing in the middle seat without hitting her head!! Also, despite the warnings on reviews, I found it quite easy to install with the seat-latch system, easier than the recaro.

Diono Radian RXT Convertible Car Seat
June 14, 2014
My daughter wasn't really a fan of her infant car seat, but once we installed this one car rides became much more enjoyable. It looks super comfy and she is more than happy to be in it. We're house hunting so each weekend she's put in and taken out of her seat multiple times and never complains like she used to with her infant seat. Mommy and daddy love how safe it is and how it can be used all the way through booster seat time. It fits well in my small honda civic backseat.

Great seat if you need to fit three car seats in one row
June 8, 2014
I have a four year old and twin 1 year olds. I originally bought two rear facing only seats for my twins (had to do some research to find three that would all fit in my car). Now that I moved my twins to forward facing I had to purchase another two seats for them that would fit along with the booster I have for my four year old. These seats are narrow enough to easily fit three across either forward facing OR rear facing. I have one fairy wide booster seat + two Radians and while its a bit tight, it easily works. I've also moved all three to different cars and it fit all of them without issues. If I had three Radians it would be even be easier (since my booster is a few inches wider than these seats). My kids like the seats, seem comfortable to them, and are easy to buckle them in with. I didn't try rear facing with the kids in them, but I put them in the car just to see and space was ok that was too. I currently have 10 car seats including my two Radians, and these are one of the easiest ones to install of the bunch. If you are looking to fit three kids in a standard car (I have a Tucson and an Altima), I would recommend going with these. My only regret is that I didn't purchase these originally instead of buying separate infant carriers.
Pros
  • fits three across in a standard size vehicle (Camry, Fusion, Altima, etc). Rear facing OR front facing.
  • Easy to install
  • Easy to buckle children in
  • Seems comfortable
Cons
  • nothing I've noticed

We like the diono car seat. It has good crash test and side impact ratings. Also it allows us to keep out almost seven years old in a five point harness. The fact that it can be used from a newborn and up is a plus too. Also, it has a ten year rather than six year expiration date.
Pros
  • height harness, 10 year expiration, saftey

Fave seat so far! If you only want to read about Diano, skip to 3rd paragraph.
June 1, 2014
I started her with the Chicco Keyfit 30 as a tiny infant and then transitioned to the Britax Paviliion, after reading safety reviews and going into my local BBB store to ask the "seat specialists" their input. After owning the Britax for a year, here're my thoughts...With a background in marketing I'm now convinced that Britax gives kickbacks and incentives to stores and consumer review sites for the stellar reviews they receive. Perhaps they are indeed as safe as purported; however, they are not made well for the high price point and they are a PAIN to operate on a daily basis. I don't think DD was ever comfortable in her Britax. Before there was an actual recall on the plastic "hugs", hers broke in 1/2 causing a dangerous, sharp edge jutting into her chest. We then had those replaced with the newly revised "safer material", and...in a few months those too broke in 1/2. The seat stays in one car, thus is not moved from car to car as some are, and it is not subjected to any unusual wear and tear. Additionally, the fabric began to pill and look worn quickly after we began using it. In short, I just wasn't impressed with this seat. After the 2nd "hug" split in 1/2, I called Britax (again) and they offered to send me yet another revision of the hug that was made of a more pliable material, and "should not break this time". Um, no thanks. I returned the seat to Britax and purchase this Diano after A LOT of research. I would marry this seat if I could!! ; ) Seriously, it is perfection. Easy to get in and out of, steel sides, cozy fabric, super easy installation (I have a BMW X5) in the center seat, and she can remain rear facing longer. She's 2.5 now and has a lot more legroom in this than she did in the Britax, thus lots more room for comfortable growth while safely facing rear. I could go on and on about all the ways I'm on love with this seat, but for the same price point as the Britax Pavillion, it's just a much better product. They just don't do as much marketing...which I would love to get my hands on! I would market the heck out of these things based on Mom Feedback alone. And by the way, love Albee Baby. Always a best price point, quick mail out, and easy site to navigate without all the distractions on other sites.
Pros
  • Cozy seating for toddler with more legroom for longer rear-facing. Steel sides instead of plastic...you can feel that it's a sturdier barrier for her head. Can add lots of cup holders, comes with one. We only use one but if you somehow need to give your little a lot of beverage choices on a car ride, there ya go... ; )
Best Uses
  • Cozy and safe long-term rear facing mid-seat car travel. Haven't folded and used on flights yet but it's a great option for when we do.
Cons
  • None so far. It's heavy to lift but since that's a one time thing to get it into the car, I'll happily exchange the weight for the safety features. Not marketing well enough so too few people are aware of just how superior this brand is to others in its price point.

I had both my kids (2 and 5) strapped into Diono Radian car seats when our SUV slid off the highway into a grassy median and flipped over several times. The car seats didn't move an inch during the accident, and both kids walked away with barely a scratch on them. Needless to say, we re-ordered the same seats for our new car. The narrow design and kids' comfort is also a plus to us. Recommend!

It is a great carseat for taller babies. It allows me to keep my tall son rear facing as long as possible. It also fits great in my Taurus; better than the infant carrier we had. The low sides also make it easy to get him in and out of without bumping his head on the roof of the car.

April 19, 2014
Received this car seat very quickly. Love that it is not as wide as others and we can fit it with two other booster seats in the back of our car. It will be utilized as an seat for our baby when he is born in a few weeks in my husbands car. It is a bit heavy, due to the steel frame, but safety is our main concern, so we love it!
Pros

Best Uses

Cons

This product is the best car seat on the market. No question. This particular color is not very attractive. We also have the Shadow and Storm colors for our other car, which are way more attractive. This color was on-sale so we purchased it. Still, ugly hue aside, this car seat is the best: the straps don't get twisted, there are helpful videos online to help with installation, my children seem comfortable, etc.
Pros
  • All features (except this particular color "Bentley")
Cons
  • None.

After much thought...
March 29, 2014
My daughter is over the 95th percentile for height, so we outgrew our infant seat much quicker than anticipated, and ended up choosing this car seat to replace it.She is 13 months old and she fits very comfortably in it rear facing. I had concerns that it might be too big, or rather, she might seem too small for it, but it adjusts nicely. The harness seems to tighten on a ratchet system, which takes a few extra seconds to get it tight on her (our other seat tightened with one quick pull). So that took some getting used to. I like the idea of fitting three across the back seat and the steel frame. Those were big selling points for me as we plan on having more children. Though I was told by a friend that in order to fit 3 across, they all need to be the Diono car seats. You can't fit a bucket car seat in with two Diono's. The shipping from the site was very fast! I was happy to get the seat so quickly. And for a very competitive price. I was able to find the same car seat on a different website for $5 cheaper, but the shipping was going to take 3-4 weeks. albeebaby.com had free shipping and I received the car seat in 2 days!It is heavy, but we don't intend to be switching it back and forth between cars. It was pretty easy to get it in and secured. It comes with an emergency contact paper to put in a pouch on a flap that covers the strap release between their legs. My LO found this very quickly when I was doing the unpacking and basic set up in the house. I thought that it might be an issue once she got in the car, but she hasn't noticed it!I'm very happy with this purchase.
Pros
  • Steal frame, safety
  • Grows with your child for many years
  • Tall, not wide
Best Uses
  • For one car
  • If you have more than one child, and want room in the back without getting a third row car
  • If you want one car seat to last 10 years
  • If you have a long torsoed child
Cons
  • Heavy
  • Hard to switch between cars

Great seat for small cars - PIA to install!
March 27, 2014
I LOVE this car seat! Used it as both rear and forward facing. For the rear-facing option, the wedge is an absolute must if anyone is going to ride in the front passenger seat. It's truly great for extended rear-facing since it allows for ample room to get baby in and out of the car.
Pros
  • Slim design
  • Allows to fit 3 seats in a row or with a passenger in between 2 (and I drive a small sedan!)
  • Extended rear-facing because allows for ample space to get child in and out of the seat
  • Foldable! and storage for all the belts (great for travel)
  • Can be used as booster for a long long time
Best Uses
  • Small cars, 3 seats in a row, 2 seats with passenger in between
Cons
  • difficult to install
  • HEAVY!
  • Must use wedge for rear-facing position, otherwise, no room for front passenger

This is a great car seat once you get it installed. I would have given it a five star but the instruction booklet is really no use when trying to install it. Yes they have videos to watch but I am a reader and would have liked to see it in writing. After spending a good portion of my afternoon going over the booklet and trying to figure out how to install it I broke down and you tubed it. So when I was ready to install it rear facing two for my right month old twins, I attempted installation with the angle adjuster. I never could get the seat tight enough. I have up and made an appointment at our hospital for the car seat technician to install them. First off she removed the angle adjuster and told me not to use that. She did confirm that these seats are one of the best on the market and one of the highest for safety for children. She installed both seats but it took up all the leg room for the driver and the passenger seat in our 2012 Camery. She had to install them side by side in order for my husband who is 6'3 to be able to drive the car at all. She said unless you have a Ford Expidition yhe large one you can forget about leg room. I am satisfied with the seats. They are great for comfort, safety, and room for growth. However, unless you have a big vehicle or your child is big enough for forward facing then you may have to decide what is most important to you. We did take a long road trip and they kids hardly complained at all. I think they were very comfortable in the seats. I am very satisfied with the seats and even though they take up some room knowing my kids are in one of the safest seats available is very reassuring. I think they look great too. I would definitely recommend these seats to anyone.
Pros
  • High safety standards
  • Not bulky
  • FAA approved
  • Looks great
Best Uses
  • Toddlers
Cons
  • Large-takes up a lot of room rear facing
  • Heavy to carry
  • Poor instruction manual

this is my first purchase with Albee Baby, and it was terrific. The car seat arrived the day they stated it would, and in perfect condition. I had researched several other car seats and I am highly impressed with my choice. This car seat is for my 17 month grandson for front facing and for a 2 month old grandson rear facing. Some may feel spending almost 300.00 for a car seat is too much, yet i believe you need to ask yourself: if spending 300 will save the life of a loved one, isn't it worth it?

Very nice, sturdy seat, fits 3 across, but heavy
January 1, 2014
I bought 3 radians so that I could fit 3 across in my Santa Fe. The seats are very sturdy and seem to be comfortable and protective. The Plum color is nice, and the fabric is soft, I will say tho, that this color/fabric seems a bit thin. It doesn't seem like it would wear very wellI had thought/hoped it would be more like the Cobalt one that I ordered which seems a bit thicker and a little more water resistant. As for travel, it has a couple of contradictory features, on the plus, it folds up (however I most reviews I read said that the optional strap is flimsy and breaks), but on the minus, it's very heavy compared to the other seats we have. Overall, I would recommend it, mainly if you are trying to fit 3 across and/or if you want a seat that will grow with your child.
Pros
  • Fitting 3 seats across, grows with child, safe, comfortable, folds up for travel (BUT heavy)
Best Uses
  • Fitting 3 seats across
Cons
  • Very heavy (BUT folds for travel), Plum color fabric seems thin.

Hostess gift for baby shower
October 21, 2013
This car seat was purchased as a hostess gift for a baby shower I am giving for my niece. She and her husband have done extensive research, and determined this was the car seat they would select to protect their baby in the event of a car accident. It is also a convertible car seat, and will last until their daughter is 120 lbs. I had tried to purchase from two other stores, but they were out of stock. This item was a better price and was in-stock at Albee Baby's website. It arrived in a timely manner and we have pulled it out of the box to "inspect". The baby is not due until January.
Pros
  • Convertible from infant until 120 lbs. High consumer reports ratings.
Best Uses
  • Infant--to toddler convertible car seat.
