Carseats have come a long way
September 26, 2015
This is the second diono, installed in a Prius IV - with difficulty. They are side-by-side middle and passenger. The setup and installation are just plain hard to do, Requiring physicality that borders on gymnastic - I am 60 and had to snake around the floor of the backseat, moving from one side of the car tomthe next a few times to connect all the belts properly , inclipuding the stabilizing strap to the floor rail of the passenger front seat - the only way to get that done in a Prius. It will be a challenge When time comes for the carseats to be removed for other passenger needs. The passenger front headrest has to be removed for the one behind it. With he passenger front seat pushed as far As possibleon the rails shortened by the strap connections, an average adult male cannot sit in that seat. Notwithstanding installation difficulties, it appears and certainly seems to be a safe carseat, which is why the parents wanted this model in the grandparent car as well as their own. Fortunately, no actual proof of this to comment on. The kids seem comfortable, if not happy, with the tightness of the sternum buckle once the straps are snugged up.A third grandchild on the way - won't fit another diono in this Prius.
