Love to mix-and-match!

I got a chance to try these cups as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. Like most parents, I am always in search of "the perfect cup." In my world the perfect cup is easy to clean, spill-proof, and, if plastic, BPA-free. My girls, a one-year-old and a three-year-old, are happy when they can easily drink from a cup and don't have to share. We tested the NaturalFit Insulated nine ounce cups with the bite-proof rim-spout trainer and the flip-top straw tops. I am not a big fan of pink and blue "gendered" branding, so I liked the neutral designs. It is great that Chicco offers different sized cups, as I usually use smaller sizes of cups (4-6 oz) for my one-year-old. I also really like that there are mix-and-match tops. I wish these had been around when my baby decided she no longer would take breast milk from a bottle. I went out and bought a variety of different brands and nozzles to test which ones she would drink from. Now I have many different cups with a lot of moving parts that clutter up my drawer and cupboards. These days, I only provide room temperature water in cups with lids, so the insulated feature wasn't a big deal for us. I tried putting some ice in the water one day to see how long it would last, and it was cool for a three to four hours. Since both tops have small parts (the straw and the clear, 1-piece valve), I probably would not serve anything but water in them. It would be hard to wash a smoothie out of the straw, for example. The cups were easy to hold, even for my baby, and they fit in our cars' cup holders. I usually like straw top cups the best, but for my one-year-old, who doesn't know how to flip the straw down so it does not leak, I liked the rim-spout trainer. She turns it upside down and shakes it and it still doesn't leak. The only drawback to the straw top is that sometimes the straw spurts out water when you open it. The rim-spout trainer was easy for both girls to use. I like that it is spill proof, but I don't love that there is a small silicone piece that could easily get lost when washed in the sink. However, even if that part is lost, the top is still usable, (just not spill-proof), which is nice. Bottom line, I thought the Chicco NaturalFit Cups were a good product. They mix and match sizes and tops, and have neutral designs. Most importantly, they are pretty easy-to-clean, spill-proof and BPA-free.
