My granddaughter and I were in an auto accident where my vehicle flipped over. She was secured in this seat and other than being scared to death from being upside-down she was perfectly safe. If I could give this seat a million stars I would. I truely feel it saved her life.

I bought this car seat for my first baby. It took me a long time to decide on a carseat and we finally decided on the chicco keyfit 30 (surge). When I received it we realized it was perfect. I wanted something easy to install and comfortable. Once baby arrived he loved it there was no issues with sweating which I was worried about. The best part was how easy it was to clean and wash. It was used for his first year of life and the car seat is still very strong and was passed down to another baby who used it for another year. I'm pretty sure we could use it again but with the new seats available im interested in finding something different for our baby coming soon. I love chicco and so happy with our purchase.

We have this car seat for our third baby. We have tried several brands of infant car seats in the past with our older children and nothing compares to this car seat. The straps are so easy to loosen to Get baby out and tighten when baby is in. The canopy is great unlike a lot of other brands. The material is so nice! We love the padded infant insert. Our little seems to be comfy in it. Installing the base is so easy. Love it so much and highly recommend it to anyone!!

The car seat itself is very nice. You can tell it's a good quality seat and the padding hold the baby in a comfortable way. The only thing Is the canopy is terrible. It will not stay closed. Every time we close it, it slowly opens back up. This is very inconvenient, specially when you are driving and the sun is in your baby's eyes and there is nothing you can do about it at the moment.

I used this car seat with my second child. It was the best car seat that I ever had. It truly is good quality. Also, It has great features, and it is easy to install. The straps are not hard to adjust either. With my first child, I bough so many car seats, because I could not find one that met my expectations. Chicco certainly went above and beyond my expectations. I am expecting my third child, and I will most definitely be using Chicco.

We really like our Chicco KeyFit 30. It is easy to install, get into and out of the car, and carry around with a baby. Couple of concerns, it doesn't grow to 30 lbs like it is rated for, our little guy outgrew it way before he reached max weight and we moved up to a convertible seat. Also as referenced in multiple reviews the sun shade needs an engineering review as it doesn't stay open and is not effective. Both our babies have been born in the winter so it hasn't been a deal breaker but if you are in a warm climate may be worth consideration. Pretty easy to disassemble and clean, except the straps do not remove completely and have to be hand washed. The cushions I usually just toss in the washer on a delicate cycle and so far mine have held up and clean up nicely. The color is not what I thought, so if you are concerned I would consider shopping in store so you can see it in person before you buy. I love that the bases are super easy to install and move car to car, the leveling mechanism is convenient and makes using this seat in various different vehicles a breeze. All in a good seat, but in order to get 5 stars I would address the sun shade and consider the colors available/descriptions.

How many hours a day is recommend to use the keyfit 30 for 2 month old baby?

I just received the regatta color car seat in and it's definitely not navy. Mine is black. And it's not a color mistake it has the same design as regatta just isn't as navy as the picture appears. If I could provide pictures I would but the picture difference is very noticeable.

This is our second one. Had to buy new due to age difference with this last kiddo. We have the purple color. Should have just done black as the color shows her head sweat (she gets hot easily). The white piping seam is right at her head so she easily has a line in her soft skin. I wish it was lower so it'd hit at shoulder height. The sun shade doesn't stay forward with this version which is extremely annoying especially when driving and we cannot reach her to fix it. We like it for the safety. The leveling during install is super easy. Clicks in easily to both bases and the stroller. would recommend to others despite the annoyances listed above

I did a lot of research on car seats when I was having my first child back in 2012. I decided on the Chicco Keyfit 30.It was a perfect seat! We used it until my son was ready too long for it and it was in impeccable shape at the end of that period. We used it for our daughter born in 2014 as well until she outgrew the seat. We then gave it away to a friend in 2016, who used it for several months as we were done having children and it was still like new! Fast forward to now, we have a surprise baby on the way and while there are lots of infant car seats out there to choose from, Chicco still sits at the top of the list so I got a new one! I still had an additional base from my first son and was happy to see that although the seat has changed slightly, the base is still the same. The seat is good looking, lightweight and slim enough for me to fit it in m backseat with my other 2 children's seats. Looking forward to getting a KidFit for my oldest!

We have been using this car seat through 2 kids now and I cannot speak highly enough about the KeyFit 30. It is easy to install, simply click the latch connecters into the car and use the super cinch strap to tighten. Chicco makes it easy for you as each strap is labeled to pull first, and then second. The car seat is snug in the vehicle with little movement. I love that Chicco colors the important moveable pieces orange, so that you will always see where things are. The infant insert is extremely helpful for my babies when they were newborns. The extra head rest piece is great and it really provides additional cushion support to the baby. The straps are easy to pull around baby's shoulders and chest and we never had an issue with the straps getting twisted or tangled. The straps come with a padding which I love as well. It is easy to tighten and loosen the seatbelt by pulling on the strap or pressing the orange button to loosen. It glides smoothly. The car seat is easily removed from the base by lifting a lever on the back side of the carseat. It also clicks into place easily. I love that it comes with a sunshade and while it could go a little bit lower, we never seemed too bothered by it. I have used this car seat in a BOB jogger, both single and double, and it fits and works perfectly. I love the bubble indicator that tells you if the car seat is level and I love that Chicco puts the weight/height limits and reminders on the side. I know I can pull out the manual but it's so nice to have a quick reference. I did a ton of research before purchasing a car seat because I knew safety was very important and I'm so glad we purchased this car seat! It has been through two kids and I would re-purchase this in a heartbeat! I love knowing that my kids are safe and secure and having a car seat that has been simple to use has been a dream! Thanks Chicco for keeping our kids safe and creating such a user friendly car seat!

This car seat has been ok for my LO. I agree with other posters that the sun shade was not effective and is annoying because we constantly pull on it and it doesn't stay in place. I also am not a big fan of the fabric, my LO always sweats in his seat. I would not buy this seat again. This seat is expensive and I expected it to be better than it has been.

I love this infant carseat. It is durable and easy to use. My baby is 8 months right now and uses size 12 months and weighs 22 lbs and still fits perfect. Which makes it better since I use this carseat together w the caddy which i also love. And i have a 2in1 stroller also in my second car that also fits this carseat.

We bought this with the travel system bravo stroller over a year ago. My little one is a year and a half and still fits comfortably in the car seat. Easy to clean. Easy to maneuver. Only con is the car seat is a bit heavy. But I didn't mind because it is so secure and safe. We love it.

my wife and I both think we made the right choice when we bought this great car seat. It's super easy to install and works well with the stroller it came with (Bravo) as part of a system. The sunshade does tend to collapse a little when carrying it but in a stroller configuration, it is not an issue. If you are concerned then get a car seat canopy to help keep the sun off your baby. Safety is the most important feature anyway.

Love this car seat and how light it is compared to others, what I don't like is that the canopy never stays open as pictured on the website, it always closes and doesn't do its job of blocking out the sun, it is also very difficult to remove any stains from the fabric of the headrest, lastly the handles on both sides of the carrier are very frustrating when you're trying to put your baby in the car seat because you need both hands to move the handle and often your hands are holding your baby.

I'm really happy with this car seat and base. I really like that this car seat also drops right into our jogging stroller. I appreciate it features and that it's not too heavy.

There is NO point at all having the sun shade. It is horrible. I live in Hawaii were the sun is always shining and it is just horrible. I'm constantly holding the shade and the handle at the same time. And I'm not a big women... I'm not the strongest thing so to hold both plus trying to grab and hold the diaper bag is ridiculous.

This is not at all navy! It is black & looks nothing like the picture. Unfortunately, we bought through another website and did not see the "blackened navy" color description. We were so disappointed with the color! Otherwise love Chicco car seats - we used the same one for our first child.

Sent is fairly light but the latch mechanism is not sturdy. Fabric deteriorates very quickly. There are too many planned obsolescence features built into this product for me to recommend. Also, you can buy extra bases, but not seats without the base.

I have this for 4 months now and the sun shade doesn't close! Ridiculous on a 200$ carseat. Also the fabric makes my baby sweat alot. It is an expensive product with really really bad quality. I loved Chicco up until this carseat.

I got two of these for my twins and I love them. It's a really great and safe car seat. It's easy to install and very comfortable. My babies love their car seats. The only con is that it is heavy so if you aren't very strong you might want a more lightweight seat.

I love the colors and the functionality of this car seat. I also love the fact that it is really easy to remove and wash the cover. I also love that it is sturdy yet not super heavy. Also super easy to install using either the latch system or the seat belt.

Baby was only 2 weeks old. 6 1/2 lbs. My wife was on the interstate and a 4 car collision happened. She was hit on both sides. The car seat kept my son secure and protected. No issues. Thank you for a very well made product!!

Colors are not true to box or Internet. The sun cover will not stay open. I washed the cushion positioner and it fell apart. Extremely hard without it. Won't buy next time

This is my third keyfit car seat for my newest granddaughter. The ease in installing and easy lift has me sold!

This was my first Chicco car seat and I was not disappointed! After careful research, I decided to go with the KeyFit 30 for the key safety features, easy to clean fabric, and no hassle installation. I have washed the fabric many times and the car seat comes out looking brand new! Everything is color coded & labeled for easy install. My favorite extra feature was the hidden storage compartment in the base, this was perfect to keep the manual handy and for extra toys, books, or lovey!

I purchased this carseat in a bundle with the stroller as well over 11 months ago. My baby is not outgrown the length standard, but it has been a wonderful carseat and it's a sad moment parting with it! I can literally install the base in less than a minute in any vehicle and I LOVE how easy it is to tighten the base down along with the bubble level. If it isn't level they have a great feature where you can raise/lower the base until level with the push of a button! It's super easy to take in and out of the base as well! Having this seat has definitely raised my standards too what a car seat is supposed to be like, they really knocked it out of the park! We loved it!!

This is an amazing car seat. As compared to our first infant seat 7 years ago, the functionality, installation and details have improved immensely. The secret compartment to store the user manual (and other small items; extra Nuk) is pretty neat and I like that it can be stored right within the base itself. With the LATCH system installation method, installing the base can literally take 10 seconds, maybe a little bit longer if you are unfamiliar with where the latch points are situated in your particular car. I love the user friendliness of this system as well as the ease to ensure a secure fit and accurate leveling! Another great feature is the ease in which the seat "clicks" into the base as well as can be removed. I really appreciate that any button that makes something move (removing the seat from the base, tilting the carry handle or releasing the straps) is clearly marked as a bright orange button. The seat contains great padding and the newborn support/headrest provide for a snug soft fit. I wish the fabric was a little softer but aside from that the comfort and washability is great. I read a lot of reviews regarding the Canopy and understand there could be different models. However, I am please with the Canopy of our seat. It is not flimsy and retracts into various coverage options.

After a lot of research decided with the Key fit 30 and absolutely love everything about this infant seat!!! Great features easy to install and baby is completely secure in the seat!!! Also when carrying it is well balanced so it doesn't get heavy. With all the safety award's and review's I absolutely recommend this infant seat!!

This is a great looking seat, and has awesome safety ratings. PROS: snug for a newborn, easy to install and use, durable, sturdy CONS: very heavy, the canopy provides almost no coverage at all, it says up to 30 pounds but my LO is 16 pounds and she already seems to be outgrowing it- see back to my heavy by itself comment- its unbelievable. Also once she hit the 12 pound weight mark it has gotten so heavy I cant really carry it, and getting her in and out is a chore. very awkward. and the straps are short, even if they are all the way extended they dont go over the side so its always annoying having to place her and then pull the straps from under her- can never transfer a sleeping baby in or out of this without waking.

Bought It and love it better than the last two infant car seats I bought

We just received this car seat as a gift for our first baby and I am so content with the product. It is of high quality and I trust to put our daughter in it once she gets here. I love the color, and the softness of the fabric inside. The canopy is a little harder to work with than I expected. It does not fold easily but I played around with it a couple times and think I can make it work!

I bought this for our daughter who had researched the specifications and reviews for this particular car seat. I haven't opened it yet, but have no doubt it will be as perfect for our soon-to-be grandson as we expect.

After evaluating a lot of the infant car seats on the market, I decided to go with the Chicco Keyfit 30 - and I'm so glad I did! We got this as a set with a Lightweight stroller (love that too but that is a separate review!) My son is now 7.5mths old and we are still using this car seat. The LATCH system made it easy to install in the car and the seat itself is extremely easy to buckle and unbuckle and just easy to use in general. My son is now 18lbs and 27" long and still fits in it just perfectly even with the inserts. We have a Jeep Cherokee and it fits perfectly in the middle seat and can accommodate two passengers on either side in the back seat. Cleaning: you can take this entire seat apart and put it into the washing machine - it washes and dries easily and well. If I had one complaint - and this is only convenience factor - it does not fit well in grocery carts; I normally have to put him in the large part of the carts but that is nothing compared to all of the benefits this seat provides. Love Chicco products!

I absolutely love this product! i have a color that was limited addition and no longer sold but the product itself is the same. My baby always looked so comfy and safe in this seat. It is light weight and so easy to carry around if needed. The base is super easy to install and easy to switch between cars if needed. (we did it all the time with no problems)

I bought this model for my twins baby , the cover which suppos protect baby from sun is not long enough my baby get the sun burn, l can't even extend the cower because the handle is not going far from the cover l can make 2 or 3 cm more that all . Is so uncomfortable for baby which is in the seat position all the time beside that is so tight I really don't know how th l switch one seat for PegPrego seat and l can see different the other baby is so comfortable in the seat . I called the company with hope for solutions but the lady said that they can't do anything and she understand my frustration. This is not right!!!

I don't normally write reviews but I am extremely pleased with this car seat. We bought this car seat 6 months ago for our newborn. It has held up really well and was very easy to wash. Also very easy to install. We installed this car seat in the middle seat. Last Friday we were at a complete stop when a drunk driver rear ended us at 40 mph. My head smacked against the wheel and I suffered a concussion. My child was totally unharmed and only cried for a second until I was able to get to him. So thankful this car seat was made so well and held up against the impact. Sad that it has to be replaced but we will be purchasing another Chicco!

We are still awaiting our little bundle of joy, but the car seat is sturdy and great looking. It was also very easy to install.

I bought this a few weeks ago but it won't be used until August when my daughter is born. I just wish I knew the only cortina strollers they sell now are brown, which do not match the Lyra carseat. I have a cortina cube stroller that's almost 4 years old that I plan on using but it's kind of worn out.

We bought these for our triplets, primarily because they were one of only a few seats that fit three across in our vehicle. We LOVE them! Over the past several years, we've used several different car seats for our nieces and nephews, but these are by far the easiest to install and use! They even got our NICU nurses' approval! Our littles are starting to grow out of them already, and I'm disappointed to have to give these seats up!

Bought this car seat 5 months ago just before my daughter was born, loved the safety features and all the specs.. my daughter fit wonderfully in it since birth and we're still using it 4.5 months on... however, it was disappointing to see that the seams on the head rest have split - makes the product look really shabby - it really wasn't something I expected from a quality brand to have the seams rip apart in just over 4 months of mild use. Would be great if I could get just the head rest replaced so the product can look great again

I just got our keyfit 30 carrier and car seat base and am so pleased! Not only do I feel it is safe, but it is also concerned about comfort, which keeps baby happy! Things I am excited about: the sunshade extends down far enough to completely shade baby, the straps are so easy to tighten, and the insulation cover is brilliant (I dont worry about baby being cold because he can't wear thick warm clothes in the seat because there e is the cover. And the cover won't move around like a blanket would, it's great!) the carrier snaps in so easily to the base--grab and go! It's so convenient. The carrier is light to lift and easy to adjust for when our baby grows. Straps were easy to figure out. I recommend it! I love the look of it, too--bonus!

Five years ago, when my niece was born I remember installing her carseat base (different brand) and trying to swap it out - what a nightmare! So when it came time to purchase a carseat for my own child, my husband insisted this was the carseat to buy for our son because it was extremely safe and the easiest to install. It took me five minutes to install the carseat and another 20 minutes of flipping through the manual in disbelief that it was that simple!!!! My parents even bought a base for their cars - needless to say, my dad is now in love with Chicco brand carseats! Unfortunately at 3 months, my son is now a whopping 27" and will soon hit the maximum height limit for this carseat - but I will be buying another Chicco brand when the time comes! I would recommend this brand to EVERYONE. Plus I love this color!

I am in love with this car seat!! It's beautiful, the picture doesn't do it justice. I searched and searched for which car seat to buy from Chicco. I originally wanted a unisex color but caved to the Lilla because all the other big items will be unisex for future children but wanted at least one girly thingy besides her room and clothes. I am so pleased with this, I haven't put a baby in it yet but so far so good. It claims there's pink on the edge but mine honestly isn't even pink it's more of a gray/white color. Which I am fine with because it could honestly be used for a boy too. Polk a dots may be a little to girly for a boy but I think it would be fine. The car seat over all color is a little darker in person then this but jes still beautiful.

As first time parents, my wife and I chose the best rated car seat with the highest safety rating, which was the Chicco Keyfit 30. Thankfully, we have not had the opportunity to critique the crash worthiness off the car seat and hopefully never will. We have, however, had ample time to get to know the Chicco Keyfit 30 in day to day operation. The car seat is fairly easy to install, whether you are using the base or not. There is a built in bubble level on the base to take out some of the guess work during installation. Adjusting the straps is very easy, literally at the touch of a button. Beyond that I can't find anything good to say about the product. My biggest gripe about the car seat is the "sun shade." Right out of the box, I scoffed at it. Fully extended, it doesn't even reach the midpoint of the seat. If you can get it to stay fully extended, that is. The position locking mechanism is chintzy and if it ever held position, at the 3 month mark it is laughable. If you plan on going out during the daytime with your baby and value you baby's eye sight, I would consider other car seats. The carrying handle is sturdy and I feel confident holding it with one hand in all kinds of orientations. After using it for 3 months, the two hand operation on the handle adjuster has worn out it's novelty. It is rare two have two hands free now a days, and even for me, 6'4" tall, reaching over into the car to depress the lever on the other side simultaneously had gotten old. The last issue I have had, or more accurately, my wife had had, is the position of the base release. In our vehicle, we have captain's chairs in the second row. The base is installed on one of the captains chairs. When I drive I have my seat slid back almost as far at is will go. The base release on the car seat is positioned right behind baby's head and therefore squished up against the driver's seat. I, being taller, have not had as much of a problem getting the car seat out. My wife, who is 5'4", simply cannot. Whether it is the lower angle or close proximity to the carrying handle when she is trying to lift the seat out, I don't know. It is a problem for her. She does not have the same problem when SHE drives and the driver's seat is farther from the car seat. Maybe we should just put the car seat behind the passenger seat. I hope this helps in your decision to buy.

This car seat is absolutely the best. I hydroplaned and rolled my truck with my 3 week old baby in the back seat strapped into the Chicco Keyfit 30 Car Seat and she was absolutely fine. She was sleeping when the crash started and the movement woke her up, but she was not even disturbed enough to cry. She was just looking around when the crash ended. I absolutely recommend this car seat because it fits my baby better than others and it kept my beautiful miracle safe.

I received this car seat as a gift from my baby registry and it's the one gift I received that I cannot do without. I drive a lot so a car seat was imperative. The chicco car seat is light weight, easy to install and I feel safe with my daughter in it while we're on the road. As a new mom, I did sooo much research on a car seat and the chicco won over all others due to it's reasonable price, reviews from other parents and it's safety. Plus, it fits perfectly into the chicco urban stroller which I also cannot live without.

It's a great seat for a baby, maybe we'll need another when she grows.

This is the third card seat I tried for my twins as I was trying to fit 3 across the back seat of my Jeep Cherokee (2 infants + Toddler) and this was the only car seat I could use. It ended up being the best car seat I have used. The babies were so cozy in these and they are not that heavy, as others complained about. The twins are now 10 months and 20 lbs each and I carry them both in the car seat (I am a 137 lb female). While I wont run a marathon like that, its not that bad walking to/from the car. Very easy to install and click in- plus it also works with the Joovy TwinRoo stroller frame. LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Thank you for making something a bit easier for a twin mom!

I was recently in a car accident due to a negligent driver my vehicle rolled my daughter was only 2 months at that time but this car seat had everything to do with saving her life she walked away with a tiny bruise on her elbow. I have recommended chicco to ever expecting parent. Safely tightening the base and buckle was also a factor

I had a Chicco seat in the past and absolutely loved it. We are now waiting for baby dear to arrive in September and haven't used this seat yet but it is really cute. I love how sturdy they feel.

We just received the Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Carrier but unfortunately baby isn't here yet! However, from what we've seen, we absolutely love the car seat. It is so much lighter than I expected and it looks even better in person. Can't wait to have little miss here and see how much she loves it. PS. I only gave an overall 4 stars because baby girl is not here yet for me to rate how babies like it!

We used this for our 4lb baby and it worked great. We had first tried another brand but found that this one fit our tiny boy so much better. It's really the only seat we could find that truly fit a 4lb bundle. If you are expecting a preemie or IUGR baby, go with the Chicco seat!

I have now used my Chicco Keyfit 30 for two children and continue to love it. The base is super easy to install and take out. The harnesses on the baby are easy to adjust without having to take apart the entire carseat. It fit both my children perfectly no matter their size (until they outgrew it of course) thanks to the infant inserts. I also love how easy it is to remove and clean the covers and then how easy it is to put them back on. When my friends buy infant seats that are not Chicco, I always wonder why. This is simply the best infant seat.

We have loved this car seat since we bought it, but this past January was when I became incredibly thankful for it. Unfortunately, my 9 month son and I were involved in an accident where we were rear ended, leaving my car completely totaled. Thankfully no one was hurt and I was amazed that the car seat was untouched and stayed completely in tact. My son was not hurt at all, but only shaken up. This car seat kept him completely safe, and for that, I am forever grateful.

Love this car seat! Fun, bright color- easy to spot (say, at baggage claim), easy to clean, light, sturdy & simple to use. I've tried a few different car seats & this is my favorite. I bought this one to replace my expired 1st bright orange Chicco KeyFit 30.

This is our second KeyFit 30. First one used by 3 kids in the family before it expired, and we got this one. The newer one seems to be a little better quality than the first, and it was good. Only complaint is that my daughter is about to outgrow it @ 30" tall and not close to the 30# weight limit. So, if you have a long/tall LO, be aware. As long as the hood thing is not folded back, she's good. Otherwise....Well made, solid, nice looking car seat. I'd buy again. Oh, and the harness/belt system not too complicated for daily use or when your kid grows out of the smaller setting.

I'm thrilled with the ease of use when buckling in my child. All the harness straps looked overwhelming but using the ones on the keyfit have proved to be pretty easy. They slide into correct position smoothly and tighten nicely with the pull of one strap. I also appreciate the ease of release when I push the button to losen them to get my child out.
