I know the specifications state that the car seat will hold a baby up to 35lbs but I'd like to see this. My daughter is a skinnier baby and doesn't even weigh 20lbs and this seat is SO tight around her. To get here in and out I need to pull one arm out and then her body. I feel so bad for her and she starts fussing after a short car ride. I'm disappointed that I need to find a new car seat already.

I received this as a gift for my baby shower. As a car seat tech, I knew it was a great gift (the safety rating is great). The only problem I have with this item is that my daughter is only 18lbs now, at 11 months old, and the straps are too tight. I can't put her in it with a coat or even a sweatsuit, or nice poofy dress because the straps are too short now. (And she is not a fat girl) I was hoping to be able to use it until she was closer to 18 months but we are going to have to make a new purchase already.... so sad!!

I bought the Britax B Safe 35 in March 2015 when I found out I was pregnant. I used it for a very short period of time, until the handle recall came out and mine was an affected model. It is a very heavy seat to begin with, so I am not surprised the handle was snapping supporting the weight of the seat. I initially chose a Britax because I heard great things about the B Ready stroller as a double stroller (and it really is great. They thought of everything.) The B Safe 35 infant seat is compact, which is convenient, and the sunshade is full coverage-it was a sleep machine for my newborn. As I used it though, I started to see its quality degrade very quickly. The base started to split on the plastic seams where the recline foot was located, and the clips to the base would stick when attempting to release the car seat. The handle was visibly bending when held with the baby in it and didn't seem like the right type of plastic for a car seat handle-too soft. I called customer service at Britax and they agreed to exchange the B Safe 35 under warranty for the original B Safe, which I LOVE. Although it doesn't have as much sun coverage, the original B Safe is much more user friendly. The seat is wider to accommodate a bigger framed child, but somehow didn't take up any more space in my car when fitting 3 across.I found the base easier to install because it is open in many spaces and much LIGHTER. The baseless install of the original B Safe was much easier because of the upward curve of the leg area, although I didn't have to do that for our other car since an extra base is almost $30 cheaper. The original B Safe also rocks when placed on the floor because it is curved, like all the other infant seats I've used EXCEPT the B Safe 35! I can see why the B Safe was redesigned to have more competitive luxury features, but none of them were essential to the ease of use of the product (in my opinion). If anything, the shape and weight of the B Safe 35 made it MORE difficult to lift in and out of the base/stroller as well as carry independently. Ironically, the B Ready stroller I bought second hand was included in the top seat/belly bar recall as well since it was a 2012 model. I LOVE the original B Safe/B Ready combination and plan use them together for a long time as our family grows past 2 children. Britax customer service was amazing throughout all of this, and I plan to buy more of their products in the future mostly based on the fact that they seem to respond to what their customers think of the quality, safety and usability of their products.

Baby is only 20 lbs and 5 months and it is such a tight squeeze to get our baby in this seat that it is frustrating for parents AND baby. 35 lbs? Really? If I had known this, I wouldnt have spent so much money on this seat because now we have to buy another carseat so soon!

our daughter is 7 months, and is already too big for this carseat- yet she is only 16 lbs. She is long, her shoulders are reaching the headrest. The headrest is all the way up- and she is so uncomfortable. It is very unfortunate we already have to get a different carseat. I would NOT recommend.

We haven't had out little one yet, but we researched the best car seat for months and ended up with this one. It's so light and nice. I can see where it may make your baby a little warmer because of all the padding but it also makes me feel safer.

I purchased this car seat when my baby was still a newborn. I was thrilled that there is so much padding and security. I felt so happy and safe putting him in this car seat. But sadly, once my baby was around 5 or 6 months this car seat was already getting way too snug for him. My baby is not even overweight he is actually a tad under the average weight for his category, he is just wider than others I suppose. He can't turn his head and his shoulders are just too snug up against the sides. I'm so sad but I already have to buy the next car seat up from this one, a convertible one - just so he is able to move around a little. Nowadays, it is just so hard for him to enjoy being in this car seat on the road for any amount of time, unless he is sleeping of course. I wish they made this car seat just a touch wider. It was so expensive. I hate to have to get a new one so soon.

It looks a bit overwhelming at first but once you figure things out this thing is a breeze to get up and going with. The construction is fabulous and is worth noting that it does add some extra "umph" to the weight. I would recommend this to any new parent out there, especially if safety and peace of mind is a factor above price.

I love this car seat! I love the whole travel system in fact but the car seat specifically is easy to install and use. I used my b safe for both of my babies (15 months a part) and wouldn't recommend any other options. There's no fumbling when trying to buckle them in. The harness is easy to use correctly which is the most important factor. BONUS: my kids threw up in one of the seats a few times and it was incredibly easy to take a part, clean thoroughly and put back together. I'm sure any mom would agree that frustration free cleaning and assembly is a must!

We've been using this car seat. The B-Safe 35 Elite, for 5 months. At first baby girl loved it, and I was thrilled that it offered my head support than our other infant seat (Chicco Keyfit.) We bought her home from the hospital in this seat and I was sure that I made a great choice. I also have the B-ready stroller and I love being able to click them together easily to move around. Then... she started growing. And growing... and now we HATE this seat. Everything we liked about it at first, which makes it great for a newborn, is totally wrong for a larger baby. She's 5 months now and in the 85% for height and 90% for weight, and screams every time we put her in. (And yes, I did remove the infant insert and adjust the straps to the correct levels.) There's barely enough room for her head in between the plush headwings, and her shoulders are almost touching them. Even with the nice side notches to push the straps aside while we load her in, it's still incredibly difficult to get the straps in the right place without scraping her neck. I can't see us getting more than another few weeks out of this seat, which is terrible because I really needed it to last through winter. It's so much easier to keep a baby warm when you can load them up with blankets in the bucket seat and carry them outside, rather than loading them into a cold convertible seat already in the car. But, I can't deal with the screaming and the tears anymore so we'll be switching to a convertible seat very soon. In comparison, our other infant seat has much less padding in the head wings, and we do not have the same issue. I highly recommend avoiding this seat, unless you are sure you'll have a smaller baby (which is pretty hard to guarantee!)

I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it is so hard to install Graco Is like 100000000000000000% better I even bought a new car and it was still the hardest to install the 2nd time I bought the clicktight it was 100% WORST the protection is just terrible. Also my daughte lily screemed her head off when I went toput her in it after that I bought Graco modes Just love it she was 7 months when i switched SO HAPPY I SWITCHED:):):):):):):):):):):)

Was set on getting this car seat finally bought it and it's very snug and doesn't fit babies very long used it for a month ended up exchanging it for a convertible style car seat. May not of liked this specific car seat but my children will always be in Britax Car seat baby was 4 montHs old when exchanged out

Great car seat! It is light enough that I can lift it myself. Very easy to get in and out of vehicle. Great value too!

I purchased the Bob Motion Travel system which comes with the B-Safe infant car seat. I love the car seat because its deep and sturdy. It doesn't always fit onto shopping carts when at the store, but I easily just put it in the main space of the shopping cart. No big deal to me. I still love it regardless.

My daughter is 4 months old and 15 lbs. She can't fit that well anymore! no room for her to move much her shoulders and arms are stuffed in the car seat, she cries every time she's in it is very frustrating driving while she cries. I am so disappointed because now I have to out to go shopping for an infant seat that will work for an average size baby. I don't know If I will buy some Britax product again.

My baby gets so sweaty in this seat! He isn't a very sweaty baby normally but when he's in this seat, instant sweat. The straps get tangled very easily, although they are "non tangle" straps. One side of the straps somehow always gets tighter than the other side. The seat is very bulky in our compact car-Honda Civic. The seat is also very heavy and awkward to carry. Maybe it's just my baby but he has never fallen asleep in this seat and he nearly always ends up having a huge cry by the middle of every car trip we've taken. However, so far it seems safe. It looks nice, and the fabric seems durable and stain resistant.

This is my first Britax infant seat but I have a Britax Marathon and Britax Frontier. I love them all! I have this in Aqua. I love the color and pattern. My baby was born 9 lb 11oz and he fits into this seat great. Some comments say the seat is too small but there's an insert that is to be removed past 11 lbs. Be sure to read the owner's manual! The base is super easy to install with seat belt or LATCH, I've used both.

we got this car seat when my son was first born. It's very easy to use and convenient however, it is very heavy. I am of small stature and have a difficult time carrying my now 6 month old around (weighs about 20 lbs). Aside from the weight and the overall awkward carry it's a great car seat and will be getting a britax convertible in the very near future. Suggestions for improvement would be overall decrease weight of seat and look into turning the handle 90 degrees for a more natural carry.

I am not satisfied with this car seat. It is very narrow and my baby seems to be very uncomfortable in it. She is 18lbs 26 inches long and she had already outgrown this car seat. We have had it for about 5 months. I wish I could still return it and get my money back.

After doing extensive research, we settled on going with the B-Safe car seat. We are so happy we did. Easy to take in and out of the base, very sturdy and easy to buckle my daughter in and out of. It's incredibly easy to clean as well. We also received a compliment from the hospital staff when we were leaving that we had one of the best car seats possible.

Great seat with safety and multiple harness / strap to secure the car to any car type.

This is the first car seat we've ever purchased. Our daughter has now been using it for 9 months. Although we like all of the car seat's other features, throughout the summer we noticed how HOT the head pad/insert is. Even now that we're into fall, when we take her out of the car seat after we've returned home, both her back and the back of her head are not just damp but nearly soaked from sweat. We literally had to pull over last night in the middle of a 1-hour road trip to strip her clothes off because she was getting so overheated. And we'd been running the A/C, not the heat! I don't know if it is the outside material of the insert, or the insulation inside, but it makes for a very hot ride for our little girl. Unfortunately, the user manual says nothing about how long the head pad/insert should be used, so we don't know if it is safe to take it out. We're now shopping for a new car seat.

My husband and I researched the very best car seats and best safety standards and hands down chose Britax! I have the B safe 35 Elite in my car and my husband has the Advocate Click Tight in his car and an extra base for mine in our daughters car incase she ever has to take him or pick him up from us for some reason. Everything is so easy to use on top of being super safe and the ease of changing as our baby grows is awesome!

It's a great car seat. I love it and it gave me such peace of mind as a new mom. It's easy to install the base, easy to attach the carrier, and easy to adjust the straps. I hate my baby's outgrown it. Only cons: the car seat is heavy to carry around-- esp when you have a heavy baby! Also, the straps can get twisted, and hard to tighten- but, that may be due to my squirmy baby.

I've had this car seat for 7 months now, and it's great! I like the sleek gray and black look. It's also easy to adjust the straps when your baby gets bigger.

My wife (in a 2010 Ford Fusion) was clipped head on at 55mph, rolled 2-3 times, coming to a rest upside down. Our 9 week old son was in his Britax carseat in the backseat, and came out uninjured. We went out immediately and bought another as a replacement. The level on the base is slightly difficult to adjust, but once it's set, there's no messing with it. That is minor and the only down side. We love everything else about this car seat. Thank you for protecting my son.

We did tons of research and landed on the Britax for our firstborn, who is now 10 months old and still using it. It is the only car seat that we have ever used so we have relatively little to compare it with, other than the few car seats we used in rental cars which left us greatly appreciating our Britax! Overall, we are happy with our purchase and would confidently recommend it. There were a few things that we read in reviews before our purchase that turned out to be true for us. Will we share those, but in hindsight they were things we knew were possibilities when we bought it---we decided we could live with them---and we could :-) 1) When we first got the base, it was nearly impossible to adjust. We kept thinking we had broken it and we were very frustrated. It turns out a lot of other people had the same experience. 2) The straps get twisted (and always at the worst moment!) It is very frustrating (especially in the first few weeks when you are adjusting to becoming parents) and suddenly you have this crazy twisted up strap. Now we are seasoned pros at fixing them and it doesn't happen all that often. 3) The seat does tend to lead to excess sweating on the back of little guy's head! 4) My husband found it easy to install and adjust, but I struggled a bit more. I had a tough time getting the straps loose on my own and getting the latch installed. The thing is, I'm not sure that this is exclusive to this car seat or more just a sign of my own lack of strength. As a side note, we used this in combo with the City Mini GT and bought the adapters from Baby Joggers (make of the City Mini). We thought this was an excellent combo and felt very confident installing the car seat into this stroller.

My daughter is 6.5 months and this seat has worked wonderfully and is still working great. It seems very comfortable. The cover has washed up wonderfully if you follow the care instructions. I love our Britax stroller just as much she loves it to .It reclines with ease. I do wish it came with a tray. But I have recently bought that . The stroller glides so well and is easy to push. I also like that the car seat is simple and easy to to install sagely without a base as well. In my husband 2006 F250 they don't have latch system so the base and car seat both work well with a shoulder strap or latch system. Buying the travel system is money well spent

We are thrilled with our carseat and stroller combo. The seat installs easily in the car, and clicks in easily to the stroller.

I was forced to replace my infant carrier with this one because of a mold issue. From the minute I opened the box, I knew it was a great product. I couldn't wait to put my newborn in it! Her head was completely supported by the cushion and the carseat is so deep that she looks like she could stay in it forever. The base is very heavy duty and easy to install. I feel confident that she will stay in this seat until it's time for the convertible. This is my 3rd baby, and I've had several different carriers. This one is by far the most well made. Now all 3 of my kids are sitting in a Britax. Love love love!!

We just bought this car seat a fe days ago and so far it seems pretty nice and easy to use. It fits pretty well into our car without any hassles. If I were to give any negative feedback it would be the canopy - it seems to be kind of flimsy and it is velcros to the back. Other than that it is durable and fairly light. Fits very well into the B-Agile 3 stroller.

Love this seat but disappointed it got stuck in the base after less than 2 weeks of use. Britax promptly sent me a replacement. The part on the seat that releases seat from base is plastic and came disconnected from the metal latch that allows release from base. Poor design. If Britax is willing to replace the seat, no complaints. Safety is #1 and Britax is our preferred brand. I gave excellent rating because safety was not affected by this disconnected piece.

I bought this because I figured it could get multiple uses. The seat is extreamly heavier than other brands. My baby was hard to lift in and out of the base around 3months. I love that it clicks into the B-Ready Stroller. BUT Baby #2 is coming and I am going to clip this to the lower seat adapter so my toddler can still see the world. Well...baby can only be strapped in the bottom foward facing. Which means the stroller seat will block my baby from my view. This car seat is not compatible with a rear facing lower car seat adapter. ONLY the chaperone is adjustable to the two ways. This car seat is now just a car seat with no special features.

I do agree with the two other reviews. My daughter is 18 months old and 21 lbs. She can't fit that well anymore! I was just browsing here to see if there is something that I'm missing. Maybe some installation without the based? But I guess it is just over all small seat, for newborns only?

Good car seat. My daughter seems very comfortable on it. The only thing I would change is the pad. Sometimes the seat belt stays folded behind this pad and it doesn't support my daughters head properly. Also, there is nothing in owners manual saying until when we must use this pad.

We bought the Britax B-safe about 8 months ago. My daughter is now 6months old. I have always felt she was completely safe. It is very comfortable for her and installation is very easy. The straps have never twisted and it is easy to tighten and change the height for your growing baby. We also have the BOB stroller and the adapter for the infant car seat. I highly recommend. It has been great. The only complaint I have is that if carrying the car seat the canopy can not be up. There is not enough room between the canopy and the handle to put it on your arm. Assuming you like to carry the seat on your arm instead of in hand. I hope this review was useful and I recommend it to any new moms and dads.

We were really excited about purchasing the but unfortunately we didn't have the positive experience with this car seat as we intended. The reviews and ratings of Britax's products is what attracted us and we had a less than positive experience after exchanging the B-Safe 35 Elite 3 times before we decided to go with another brand. I could go on but we are pleased with the Britax B-Ready except that it isn't compatible with our new car seat. So it has been an unfortunate experience and hope to have a better experience if we use this brand in the future.

Very poorly constructed seat belt. Mechanism to adjust seat belt is faulty. Difficult to adjust. I will not recommend purchasing

I bought the britax b safe 35 and i am very happy with it. My husband today placed the car seat in the wrong way on the stroller, can anybody please tell me how to remove the carseat from the adapters. Thank you!

I'm a big fan of the Britax brand and have really enjoyed this car seat. Very durable and safe, but the gray padded insert gets too hot for our 6 month old. There is something wrong with the material. He doesn't heat up on any else we use like he does while in the car seat. A/C is constantly running on high, not because car is hot or other people, its to try to keep the seat cool. It was fine in the winter when we purchased the seat, but spring and summer is when I noticed it. The material is terrible for the baby to lay on. He sweats so much even when it's not hot! Again, the gray padded insert gets too hot and for that reason I would not recommend this car seat. Any suggestions for a different car seat that doesn't have this problem would be helpful.

So far, we're enjoying our Britax B Safe Careseat and Travelling Kit very much!! Both Dad and I really enjoy the products and its safety. It is a little heavy, however the products, accesorries are great!!

My daughter inherited my warm-blooded genes and often is a ball of sweat after 30 minutes in this thing. Everything else is pretty good.

This is an amazing car seat and I would buy it all over again. However, if you take a lot of hand-me-downs (not car seats, of course) like we do, beware that there are major compatibility issues with Britax products. Also, this car seat may not fit well in smaller vehicles. It fit great in my truck but when we switched to a crossover vehicle with 3 rows (meaning less room between rows), we have to sit with our front seats pushed really far forward to make it fit properly. So if you're trying to save money, there are tons of other very safe car seats out there. I researched the compatibility beforehand and thought we wouldn't have issues but we did. If you plan to buy a corresponding Britax product then the car seat will work great with it!
