Not a good option if you intend on using your stroller as a double!!!
August 9, 2013
I use my Baby Jogger Select as a double stroller, as I have a newborn and a 2 year old, and my newborn is too small to be safely secured into the stroller seats. I was excited to see this was available and ordered it promptly- it's worth noting I didn't find a price lower than Albeebaby.com when you consider the free shipping option. Anyway, it arrived right on time but when I went to put it on my stroller, the ONLY WAY it can be configured as a double is if the car seat adaptor is in the front position (the seat farthest from the parent) facing backward (toward you) and the second (regular) seat in the back position (closest to you) facing forward. This is an issue for a couple reasons. First off, I want my baby closest to me because he requires more attention than my 2 year old, for example, feeding, placing a pacifier etc. Second, you can see by the picture how high the infant adaptor places the car seat, so if I did use it, my 2 year old couldn't see anything! Third, this configuration makes it super long because the car seat adaptor sticks out so far forward, making even this easy gliding stroller tough to maneuver. I did note the seemingly "looseness" of the adaptor mentioned by others, and while it does seem secure and locked in place, I just wasn't comfortable having my baby in this position, because he was hanging out so far in front of the frame. Needless to say, I sent it back. I gave it 2 stars because, as a product itself, I'm sure it's fine and works well w/a single stroller, but I wish Baby Jogger would have some sort of disclaimer stating it doesn't work for use as a double stroller.
Best Uses
- In a single stroller system
Cons
- Does not work well for use as a double stroller configuation
