I was so excited for this product because I hate ugly looking baby things so this beautiful bamboo plate looked perfect and practical with the removable suction. I love the idea of being able to remove the suction part when we don't need it anymore so we'd still have a pretty plate. When I first suction the plate to the table, it seems super strong. I push it all the way down on all sides to remove any air and then tug and pull and it doesn't budge; the seal is still tight. I don't know why, but after a few minutes of using it, the suction slowly breaks. My toddler isn't even messing around with the plate and is barely putting any pressure on it as he eats but sure enough, every time I used it, within a couple of minutes the suction has separated from the table. I have a smooth wood table. I gave up after using this several times because it got too frustrating and went back to our ezpz mat instead. When my toddler's past the stage of throwing stuff, I'll use this plate again with the suction part removed. It's still a beautiful plate that he can use when he's ready. Also, I wish the silicone parts came in more neutral colour options, like grey! I would recommend this product for the bamboo plate only but I wouldn't not recommend it as a suction plate.
