I bought two of these car seats and have the same issue with both: the straps are near impossible to tighten. At first I thought I had installed it wrong, it was so difficult. Then I talked to a couple of friends of mine who have the same seat for their kids and they have the same issue too. I also thought it would eventually get easier, but here we are 2 years later and still having the problem. Other dislikes are that most sippy cups don't fit in the cup holders, and that you can't easily remove them to clean them.

My baby loves his new seat! He can still see all around in it and still be rear facing! Would definitely buy again if I had to!

I bought two of these a month ago for our spare car. Love them. Seem comfortable for the kids, fair priced, easy to install and highly rated for saftey. Easy decison to buy this model. We now have three of these right now of four.

This is my 4th Graco car seat... this brand! Mama, Aunt, GaMaw and Papaw has one. Absolutely love it! There is nothing difficult with this car seat. Yes, I highly recommend!!!

I was nervous about buyng this because there were complaints about the straps being difficult to use and I think they are so easy! I actually love everything about this seat! The extend to fit option is really nice!

As a mom of three, I've done the car seat buying thing a few times now. I love this car seat for a lot of reasons, but I have found quite a few flaws with it as well. My biggest pet peeve with this seat is the chest clip. It is just way too easy to undo. My two year old has mastered it and is constantly unhooking it and getting his arms free from the straps.

I can tell that my son enjoys sitting in this platinum seat, and is comfortable. The only negative remark is that the little side pockets that the metal clasps tuck into don't hold the clasps very well. We tuck them in, pick out son up out of the seat, and they come out of their spot right back into the seat. We also bought the regular Graco extend2fit convertible seat in the Spire color- no issues with this feature. Not sure why there is an issue with the "upgraded" version?

We are so happy w this car seat! It adjust so easily as our baby grows. It is also easy to install and feel very secure.

I love That it has 6 different recliner settings. three for rear facing and 3 for front. The straps are very easy to adjust and was super easy to install. My four month old loves it too.

I got the car seat a year ago for my now one year old. He has grown so big in it and it still perfect for him . I refused to get any other kind of car seat for my daughter who is due in may because I absolutely love his car seat so much. I feel like he is the safest in it and if we were to ever get in to an accident I would feel at peace knowing he is in this car seat.

I love everything about this car seat, from the double cupholders (that are easy to install & pop back out for a quick clean), to the harness straps that don't get all doubled up. Not to mention the extra padding for my little one that not only makes him comfortable but safe!! We liked the first one so much we ordered a second for our other vehicle!! & for the price...can't beat it

I am absolutely in love with this product! As a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, my expectations for a child restraint are pretty tough. My granddaughter is extremely tall for her age, turning 2 years, she was 3" taller than the average 2 y/o girl at 34" tall. I absolutely LOVE that she can stay rear facing to 50#!! What better way to protect her head, neck, and spine in a crash. And that she can stay in a 5 point harness to 65#..... I am totally digging this seat! Ease of installation makes this an all 'round winner in my book. Well done, Graco!

Just received car seat for grandchildren, love the holder for the straps. Also how you can loosen and tighten the straps once child is in the seat. Great features of the seat is cup holders, head supports, extended heights and weight. This will be the only car seat I will need till a booster seat, thank you.

I bought this recently for my 9 month old. I liked that it had many recline options and the extend to fit was just a bonus. It fits well in the middle row of our Toyota Sienna. It was very easy to install and has lots of nice padding. This is our fifth child in 17 years so we have had a lot of car seats and this is the best quality we've owned. The self tightening latch, the easy to remove liner, the ease of adjustments. The only thing that is less than perfect is the little pockets that hold the straps out of the way. The buckles easily fall out of the stowing pockets, but perhaps it is because our daughter is still very little and we never had to pull the straps out very far. I am perfectly satisfied with this seat.

My daughter has just turned 4 so I am using the car seat as front facing. I had to remove the infant insert from the car-seat for her to use it. The tiny pockets on the side of the car seat are used to keep the buckles stored when the kids are sitting on it so that we can have a fuss free and quick buckling. When we go for long rides the headrests are really helpful and she can sleep more comfortably and her head does not fall in front. Also, I used the car's safety belt system to fix the car seat as I was not able to find the anchors on the car, but it was pretty easy to do it. The only issue I had with the car seat is that on every trip I find my daughter's back side is sweaty even though we have AC vents for the back row and they are pointed towards her. I think it is due to the material of the car seat cover, it is not very breathable. Overall a good car seat, if they have a better cover for the car seat I would have loved it.

My wife and I purchased this seat as a graduate seat for our child, but we are regretting our purchase due to the difficultly of use. Unlike our previous Chico Seat, the Harness Adjustment Strap is not user friendly and extremely difficult to tighten when securing our child. Prior to purchasing this seat, I would recommend you find it in a store and try securing your child in the sit.

I bought this car seat because she was outgrowing her original one, but I really wanted her to stay facing backwards! My baby is on the bigger side weighing 37 pounds but she was rear facing in this carseat.. with that being said we had a horrible car accident, we flipped and rolled over multiple times and my baby didn't move an inch her carseat was still intact and in the exact same spot it had been in. My baby came out without a scratch. Defiantly super safe carseat. Saving for another one now..

We had purchased this car seat for our little girl because we loved that it was one that converted and grew with her. But after using it I noticed it was so hard to loosen and tighten the straps, almost like there wasn't any extra strap to give you room. I am also worried that because of the strap not having that extra length that she'll grow out of it even faster.

I bought this a week ago and my son loves it. The two cup holders are great for our long rides. Most of all the safety features were key for me. I will be purchasing another for our other vehicle.

I loved this carseat... until we went to install it and until I found out how hard it is to tighten the straps. I literally had to sit on the carseat while my husband, who is a big strong guy, pulled with all his might to get it tight enough to not move around. Then I put my son in and to tighten him in is sooo hard! I have to put my arm on the car seat to get enough leverage just to get it a little tight, I would return this if I could but I no longer have the box!

I installed two of these rear facing today. Could not get them tight without extending extension to first position and using pool noodle on leather seats.

Why would any company make it so difficult to remove the cover...do the designers not realize children urinate, pooh, and vomit in their car seats therefore a parent/guardian needs to be able to take it off and wash it?? As far as car seats go yes my son is safe... but he shouldn't have to sit in a smelly seat.

Bought this seat for my 2nd child about a month ago as she just outgrew her snugride35 bucket seat. In store I was told that the straps would eventually loosen up. I loved the idea of this seat so I wanted to believe that so I bought it. I also had the nautilus with my first child 6 years ago and loved it and never had a problem with the straps so I figured this must be just as good and I would get used to the straps. Well, it's still such a pain and so difficult and it's not getting better and I'm really hoping this can be fixed. It takes so much time to pull so hard on the straps and it's currently freezing and snowing so I'm getting anxious about my baby being cold but I want her to be safe first! It just occurred to me that the problem might get even worse when she's forward facing causr I can't reach the back to pull the straps and use that "trick". I read this has to do with the no rethread thing they have now which wasn't on my old nautilus. I would much rather rethread when needed than go through this every day! I love everything else about it but it's not worth the daily struggle. :(

I have two of these car seat one in each vehicle. I just recently turned my daughter forward facing and I am unable to tighten the straps. Has anyone else had this issue. I have take. This thing apart top to bottom and put it back together just like it says. I have to grab the strap and pull with both hands.

I bought not just one but two of these seats a couple months ago and I've been trying to give them a chance and figure it out more. First, the bottoms buckle, the plastic that sticks out digs into my almost 10 month old baby's belly when I believe that part should be further down closer to the hips. My biggest issue with this seat is that his head is being pushed forward so his chin is touching his chest. We have removed all of the padding, added it back on but he's too big now for all that padding. I know he is uncomfortable, he can barely move his head let alone look up. I need to buy another seat and I want to stick with Graco but I'm so afraid I'm going to run into this same issue with these types of car seats.

Love everything about this car seat except for that there's a shared latch strap for forward facing and rear facing. However, no big deal since I only had to adjust the strap once.

We have been using this carseat since my girl was 2 months old. We absolutely love it! I wish the straps were a little easier to tighten but overall is an amazing seat. Very slim design too.

LOVE LOVE THE LITTLE SIDE POCKETS TO HELP KEEP SEATBELT TO THE SIDE WHEN SHES NOT ON IT, THIS WAY WHEN I'M GOING TO SIT HER DOWN I DON'T HAVE TO BE STRUGGLING WITH THEM, SPECIALLY WHEN SHE'S NOT ON A HAPPY MOOD. CUP HOLDERS ON BOTH SIDES, SHE STILL DOESN'T SEE THE COOL PART ABOUT THIS BUT MAMA LOVES IT. AND ONCE SHE HAS REALLY OUTGROWN BEING ABLE TO RIDE REARVIEW I CAN JUST POSITION THE CAR SEAT FRONT VIEW AND WE ARE GOOD TO GO!! IT WAS VERY EASY TO INSTALL. YOU JUST OPEN THE BOX, INSTALL THE CUO HOLDERS. I USED THE LATCH SYSTEM TO INSTALL IT, TOOK LESS THAN 5 MIN TO INSTALL AND NOW MY DAUGHTER IS RIDING COMFORTABLE!!

My child also claims that it is very comfortable. Also may positions available. I like having 2 cup holders. As well as little slots for the buckle so the kids don't end up sitting on them.

I am a strong supporter of rear facing and I really appreciate the option to remain rear facing through 40 pounds and the extra legroom thanks to the extension panel. The car seat was easy to install and I love how easy it is to remove the cover (especially with a accident prone toddler) for easy washing! I think that my favorite feature has been that the straps and headrest adjust together which is so convenient (I struggled with past car seats with strap adjustments and this takes the headache out). Definitely a great seat for early infancy through preschool years!

Its very important to me that she be able to ride rear facing as long as possible and I think this seat will make that possible as she grows. I'm going to be completely honest, we spent a fortune on our previous convertible car seat thinking the more we spent, the better it would be. I was completely wrong and LOVE the Extend2Fit Platinum Convertible Car Seat so much more. Here's why: 1) It is so much easier to clean. My son is a puker, and it literally takes seconds for me to get the cover off to clean it. 2) It has amazing safety features, even better than the car seat we spent hundreds on. 3) It has two built-in cup holders! This may seem minimal, but our previous car seat has none. We had to purchase them separately, and they constantly fall off. I do wish they were circular though instead of square. Our cups don't fit in them, but snacks and toys do. 4) My son seems way more comfortable. The Extend2Fit comes with neck strap covers and head cushions. Also, there's plenty of space, so my almost 2 year old can still sit rear facing. The extra four inches of leg room plus the 6 position recline are game changers. 5) I can easily adjust the car seat depending if my almost 2 year old is going to be in it or my two month old. The head rest adjusts easily, moving the straps with it and since my almost two year old can be in it comfortably rear facing still, I don't even need to flip it around. I seriously love so much about this car seat. The only major thing I would change is adding an adjustable filler into the base. My seats are slanted, so we had to be creative in how to get it to sit flat, but we had it checked at the car seat safety check and is perfectly safe still, and is nowhere near a big enough issue to keep me from buying another. I love that this car seat has 4 reclining positions (AWESOME) and an extendable foot rest. Usually I get worried about having to put my child in a forward facing car seat, but with this seat my son will stay rear-facing for quite a bit longer. He is a year and half and still has a lot of space. The headrest extends as well, which makes it comfortable for him. The material on the seat is breathable, my son has never sweat in this seat even on hot days.The seat was a breeze to install, which is wonderful. Overall I am happy with the seat.
