Great Stroller, Misleading Color
May 28, 2021
We had tried the Cruz V2 in multiple stores so we knew we liked the stroller before purchasing. The stroller arrived in good condition, was well-packaged, and assembled very easily. My only frustration is that the hazel/olive color in person does not look like what the online pictures suggested. Both colored sections are significantly darker. I'm not sure which is which, but the leg rest is what I would normally call olive (it looks lighter in the pictures), while the rest of the seat is practically brown. Some quick searching suggests hazel is not actually a color, it just refers to a type of eye color which can actually shift between different hues of green, brown, and orange. Well, this seat is practically brown. If I really focus on it, I can kind of tell it has green in it, but man, it is just not very green. I suspect this contributed to the discontinuation of the color. My wife in particular really loved the pictures online, and absolutely hates the colors in person. My initial reaction was quite negative, although it's quickly growing on me because I think the color will hide spills and stains well, but I do think many people who order this color combination would be disappointed because it's significantly less fashionable.
Pros
- Great stroller, Uppababy quality.
Best Uses
- The Uppababy V2 strollers are arguably the most terrain-capable stylish urban-focused strollers on the market. Most terrain-capable strollers look more rugged like joggers, while most stylish urban strollers are kind of flimsy and not terrain-capable. This Cruz V2 is built like a tank, has great suspension, and the tires/wheels are quite capable. I had my eyes on a cheaper stroller, but ended up buying this one because I just trust it more for riding on park grass, bumpy roads, bridges, etc. I think this would be a great stroller for taking a baby/child to a national park, for example.
Cons
- Colors do not match online pictures. It makes rugged military gear look like translucent silk pajamas by comparison. The darker seat color is not cheery, bright, vibrant, or fashionable at all.
