The Cadillac of Strollers
September 28, 2021
I recommend Baby Jogger City Mini GT strollers to EVERYONE I know who is starting a family. I already owned the City Mini GT, and I was given the City Mini GT2 to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The City Mini GT2 is THE WAY TO GO when buying a stroller!
Pros:
- the all-terrain tires: This was really important to me. I use my stroller a lot of gravel or grass, and other strollers just can't push over those terrains. This stroller glides over everything easily. The suspension on this stroller (I think this is an upgrade new to the GT2) also makes the ride so smooth for your baby or toddler.
- sun shade: This thing is huge, and that is actually incredibly important. I am very cautious about sun, and I love having this protection. The sun shade also has peekaboo windows to let you see your baby. An amazing upgrade on the GT2 is that the cover for these windows is magnetic instead of velcro. This means no more waking up your baby with velcro noise when checking on them through the window!
- age: This stroller can fit literally any child. I had a newborn (2 months old) and he can happily ride in it when I recline the back of the seat. My almost three year also loves this stroller, and with a weight limit of 65 pounds, I know that my kids will be done using strollers completely by the time they outgrow the GT2. This is a one size fits all stroller.
- The new foot rest on the GT2 in a great addition. It works awesome for napping and is really helpful in having another location to access my diaper bag from the bottom basket.
- When they say one hand fold, they mean it. It is so easy. I can take this stroller from open to folded and put away in the trunk (all while holding a child!) in about 5 seconds.
- The material feels well made and sturdy. It is comfortable for my kids.
Cons:
Please note, I consider these cons pretty minor and still give this stroller a 5 star review and recommendation to my friends and family.
- The basket underneath the stroller is a little small, BUT I can still fit a large diaper bag back pack in it along with other loose smaller items. It just takes me a minute to shove the back pack in just right.
- There isn't a cup holder or a great place for a wallet or phone, so you need to buy a parent console. I own the Baby Jogger brand one and it fits great, but you can get anything really.
- The seats most upright position is a little bit too reclined for my preference. Even in the most upright, your child will still be leaning back a bit. My almost 3 year old has never complained though. I just think being more upright would be better for trips to places like the zoo.
Long story short, I genuinely recommend that you buy this stroller if you are looking. The City Mini GT2 is an amazing stroller no matter what type of city or town you live in, and the upgrades that Baby Jogger gave this stroller in comparison to the older version are really helpful. If you can't decide what to buy, stop your search now and get this stroller.
