A Great Product, I'mproved!
May 16, 2016
We ordered this umbrella stroller to replace our previous first-generation G-Luxe. The previous one met and exceeded our expectations and fulfilled our needs for a lightweight, transportable, and flexible use (reclining) stroller until we wore it out. They offer stylish looks and come in nice colors, and like other Uppa products, the G-Luxe includes every and any other features you can find in a stroller of the same class. I'mprovements we noted, in no particular order, were locking wheels/brakes operated from one side, easier to use recliner (button with presets rather than friction pull string), low-profile under-knee angle adjustment, and a frame profile that may address the frame wear and distortion of the first-gen model, noted in 'Cons'.
Pros
- Design, style, features, customer service, warranty.
Best Uses
- Convenient for everyday use & travel. Note, though, to be careful when using for airline travel as the stroller may be exposed to rough handling - see 'Cons'.
Cons
- Disclaimer, this 'Con' is in regards to the previous model, where the tubular, lightweight aluminum frame seemed to distort (whether over use, over time, or especially in one case, over airline travel) to a point that made opening or closing more difficult as the softer aluminum frame may tend to bend and bind before fully opening to a locking position. Our first-gen model was actually a second one, replaced under warranty (less than 6 mo. ownership) as it was warped to a point of binding after airline travel while protected in a Uppa stroller bag. The second eventually wore over the next 3 years and has now been replaced. We have used this current stroller less than 1 month so cannot comment of durability of frame but think that the new frame profile (elongated cross-section versus old pipe) may be stronger/more durable.
